@mountainstandardtime For me is most important that Schmeling stay in marriage with Anny during the whole war and finally till the end. She was Czech, you must not get out this of your mind. Divorce for her could be worst thing.

Max had a compelling reason to lose the second match. He refused to be propoganda for the Reich. I wonder if he threw the second match. This is a great movie. Joe and Max have so many terrific parallels.
