K-Central won it all this year baby!! But yeah you gotta give Keith Appling credit. He is one of the best in the state if not one of the best in the country. Him along with Ray McCallum from Detroit Country Day.

Congratulations Doughboys! Great individual performance by Keith Appling. He eclipsed Antoine Joubert's 1983 record and Ralph Simpsons' 42 points for the 1967 Pershing state champs. Keith joins Spencer Haywood, Steve Smith, Mel Daniels, Bubble Hawkins, Kevin Willis, Willie Mitchell and other Pershing players carry on a wonderful dynasty.
