Exdous Chapter 20:vers.17 Thou shalt not covet any thing that is thy neighbour's. The 10th commandment; Romans 2:14-15; We don't have the law and never will; we're Gentiles.
@brakenlaker1 Jesus was talking to the Pharisees who were still under the old covenant Levitical tax system. He was only instructing them in what they were required to do...
Exodus Chapter 20:Vers.17 the tenth commandment: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
@brotherfrank62 I know. But I and assume we, DO not, covet the wealthy preachers, I, assuming we, are concerned about the way they get it and their heart.. If the heart is wrong then surely the congregation is at risk of false teahcings.. But yes Never HATE WHAT YOUR BROTHER HAS!!!!!! But DO JUDGE THE SPIRITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you on all the spiritual points I've been hearing from this video so far, there is a minor mathmatical error I'm not sure if you realised you made - in the 7th year, leaving the entire field would work out to 1 out of 7 years being left to the poor, which is not 1.4 percent as you were tallying, it's actually 14 percent. May God guide you and bless your ministry.
Skelly, i like this. I wrote a "position paper" on this which talks a lot about this and law vs. Spirit and would like to know if you would read and critique.
Hey skelly, what would u say when they tell you that tithe were before the law. For example when Abraham gave his tithes to Melchizedek. I know it says that through abraham the Levites gave there offerings. Idk. ?
@skellys3 well I just recently heard of Calvinism so I don't know much. I love the way u taught this teaching and how u teach all around. I do agree with everything u said and it is kind of new to me. I will first get establish in the word about this doctrine. I read the word and the scriptures you read but i need to past by them again and really eat them. I go to a big church so money preaching is heard a lot there. They once even did the same thing that they did at pastors Dollar's church of
@itiswritten77 Why would you think that we were calvinistic? We are actually the complete opposite of calvinism when it comes to our soteriology. Yes, we are just an independent, Bible believing, Bible obeying fellowship of the saints...
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Some Pastors use Matthew 23:23 to justify Christian tithing as a mandate for keeping the tithe law. Jesus said this to Jews under the OlD Covenant because he had not yet died on the Cross to fulfill the law.
Gal. 5:4 You who are trying to justified by the law have fallen from grace, you have been cut off.
@NotFlaking I understand what you are saying, but the Scriptures you just used have nothing to do with whether Christians should be tithing or not. Christians are commanded to obey ALL of the moral law and if they refuse to, they were either never saved in the first place or have fallen away from the faith. Tithing was only for the Israelites. It really is that simple. You seem to almost be dabbling in antinomianism...
Quick question...I understand and ascribe wholly to your exposition of the OT principle of tithing, but here is a problem that I didn't hear you address...
In Matthew and Luke, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for their neglect of mercy vertically and love horizontally. However, he tells them to continue to tithe.
If one views the tithe simply as a means of taxation under a theocratic government, how do you explain Jesus' stamp of approval on the tithe (according to you a means of taxation to The
@kjbyouth It looks like your comment got cut off, but I think that I understand your question. The simply answer is that the Pharisees were still living in the O.T. system of tithes and offerings. The Jewish government, i.e. the priests of Israel, still "worked for the government". Therefore they still needed to be provided. Jesus really only preached to the Jews, so some of what He said will only apply to them as a nation and people...
You are only accountable according to your knowledge. Wow dude thank you so much for that. I have been trying to fast and wondering whether or not I should be giving tithes and I now know what and how much God wants to tithe and fast when fasting. Thanks brother, God bless!!!
Do you believe this to be a salvation issue to preachers who teach holiness and living apart from sin yet they say you must tithe to their church and if you do not your heart is not in line with scripture and so are not saved? Rev 21:8 puts all liars in the lake of fire, but if they are believing a false doctrine are they still accountable? I suppose the same can be asked about the Sunday sabbath idea.
@jforsy01 You are only accountable according to your knowledge. I believe that most Prosperity Gospel False Teachers KNOW what they are doing and are on their way to Hell. I definitely don't think that most Pastors who are teaching tithing understand what the Bible teaches about this issue. This false teaching is really widespread in visible "Christianity"....
The audio clip of creflo having uzis for the ushers and deacons to execute non-tithers was according to him humorous talk but scripture still says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks so he meant what he said
@erinnelson92 I'm sorry, but I don't seem to understand what your point is by saying this? Are you saying that this means that the JW's are right on everything else? Just because they are right on one thing does not mean that they are right in everything...
