  • why is there a black guy in this video look at 25:55 is he a russian? can somebody tell me.

  • @sovietrevolution1 He is most possibly an ambasitor invited from an African country that Russia has formed good ties with. He is obviously not russian because yes he is black, but also he is sitting amoungst the general civil audiance. If he were an actual military general than he would be seen with other military brass.

  • @Blackwhale1337 You seem correct but, there are black Russian. Infact a famous Russian general was black. ;-)

  • this is the visions I had when I first set foot in Red Square in 2008

  • russia may not be the super power of old but gee they through a mean parade that go back to the old Imperial days

  • What is the name of the march being played at timing mark 16:06?

  • I always admire the Russians. Their will to fight on no matter what is what make them such feared opponents. With out the Russians World War II would have been a lot different.

  • greetings for the US

  • aqui en la ciudad de Mexico este 2010 vino un pequeño contingente Ruso a desfilar, fue emocionante verlos

  • Wonderful! My father gave his life for Russia. He died young due to injuries when his Roay Navy ship was sunk by the Luftwaffe, en route to Murmansk to take supplies to the Red Army in 1942. We were in Tanzania when he died, & I was 5 years old. See my video on youtube. This parade gives me goose-pimples!

  • @speakswahilidammit god bless your father, from the united states.

  • @speakswahilidammit My grandfather got arrested for getting really drunk in russia after he got some sort of medal from them for killing a tons of nazis, but long story short he got drunk and pissed on a statue of stalin, put in jail by the russians for about a month till they realized he was american and they had to let him go.

  • @speakswahilidammit my father in law served with the royal navy and was on the murmansk convoys. hopefully they will be together in heaven, having fun and talking about the old days..lol sailors will be sailors.

  • @speakswahilidammit

my german grandfather was a radio operater. 3 weeks after operation "barbarossa" started he got wounded. he lost his right arm in the hospital :(

  • @speakswahilidammit

So you're 73 years old and you are YouTube:ing ?

  • @PoppingSanta Gee Abeing73 year old does not make one an invalid mate.

  • @speakswahilidammit May your father rest in piece. I am thankful to him for the liberation of my homeland (The Netherlands, I am republican tho)

  • @speakswahilidammit Does the US Army even have dress uniforms any more? I always see them in fatigues.

  • @mc0558 The US army is in the process of discontinuing the green uniform. The blue dress uniform is retainned. There is also a less formal version of the blue uniform called the class B service blue uniform.

  • @mc0558 well the marines have the best uniform in the Us military but because they werent in the european and this company or battalion was the one in berlin and shock hands with the russians over elbe

  • @speakswahilidammit He gave his life for a mentaly sick dictator...

  • the kremlin was so buetiful peter the great had the architect blinded so he couldn't make another thing more buetiful than it. He was a crazy guy but thats poletics

  • Russia is a great land. I hope for peace between the US and Russia.

  • @xxDrudgeryReportxx

No need for hope. The Russian Federation and the United States have been friends since the Soviet Union collapsed.

  • @xxDrudgeryReportxx I agree. There are so many immature people who think we should be enemies. it gets so annoying that youtube is full of insane nationalists.

  • @xxDrudgeryReportxx I hope for it too.

  • The Preobrazhenski March has also been adopted as the Regimental Slow March by the ROYAL MARINES, having been presented by their Captain-General Lord Mountbatten whose family has strong connections with the Russian Imperial family.

  • I love it :-) Try to watch it every year, 9th of May like clockwork :-)

  • The Vasilij (spelling?) cathedral is SO nice!

  • A day when Russia truly embraces and admires it's Soviet history.

  • Here's in hope and prayer that all Fascists will be over-thrown and that people everywhere will have freedom and peace to enjoy forever.

  • @rmorecook is this like a yearly celebration they have ?

  • @crazyhorse1369 yes every year they do this

  • @rmorecook Didn't British troops join in with the Victory Day parades this year? They were from 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

  • @NewAccountFFS Yes British troops - American too - were in the parade in 2010

  • russia have every right to celebrate victory over nazi germany as that beast was crushed on may 9 th and in the first year of victory over the reich the nazi banners were thrown before stalin and russia america and britain owe russia everything for defeating nazi germany

  • I'm not a fan of military parades but given that I'm EXTREMELY well read and knowledged about the scope and immensity of the "Great Patriotic War" I can't knock the Russians for holding their May military parades.

The huge vast majority of Americans don't have the faintest clue of the immensity, the scale, the barbarity, and the inhumanity of the war fought between the Soviet Union and the nazi *INVADERS*: the most massive war ever fought in history.

  • @lukebccb yeah Soviet vs Nazi Germany was terrible, all the urban combats and shell, boms, artillery bombing everyday, etc.

    Watch this for example :S

    watch?v=T5n-ED8kc2k

  • love this...really nice :)

  • My greatest salute to all the brave Russian soldiers- both men and women, who fought in their glorious Victory against German Nazism in WWII

  • awesome, Respect from Scotland gave my goosebumps watching this.

  • Have anny one seen a parade movie where they do allot of stuff like they do 26:50?

  • man, the USA should throw a big parade like this for all the vets when the wars are officially over. All the way through Pennsylvania Avenue past the White House and the Capitol, through all of Washington D.C.

  • @ccisbeast We have a few.

Search YouTube with the terms West Point Parade 2005

    and also

    Military Parade Washington

and you will find two that I put up

    Bob M

  • this isnt about ego , or boasting , its about honoring those who fought for russia, thats why, russia had the most causualties of the war, and saw 80 percent of the combat , every family in russia has at least lost one person to that war, so let themmarch

  • The Mexican parede of the 16 of september is the best of the best in parade militaries in the World, please, watchin the videos of Mexican parede militar of the 16 of september, is the best in parades ¡¡

  • what is it with russia and black suits

  • I did, will, and always will, place Russia first.

  • the russian and chinese marches show alot of discipline

  • @rmorecook U.S. Marines Silent Drill Platoon are pretty good too.

  • Ura! ura! Ura!

  • i wish i could witness this live in person!!!

  • @SINStrykerSF Remember this is the Victory Day parade so it's only fair to show the Soviet flag since the whole of the soviet union made huge sacrifices to fight the Nazi, not only Russia. So this is more like a tribute.

  • 3:28 President Car Wins!.

  • @ImperialGuard9001

chinese marches are better - they r absolutly perfekt.

  • Why are they displaying a soviet flag? Why are they glorifying a regime that cost them, and many other european nations, millions of lives lost?

  • i can see vladmire putin , he loks like hes bored

  • Incredible ending!

    Greetings from Brazil

  • @rmorecook You're allowed to use it for historical reasons, as this kid said. Durr.

  • @SINStrykerSF That and give respect for the men who died under the flag and mostly defeated the Germans in Stalingrad

  • hello, from England, i saw a video once of russian military and the music was a good song but only know a few words of it but would like to know what song of Russia it is>>> Hey now mamous remember hey , remember mama-rou. sorry if it doesnt make sense i spelt it how it sounded to me in english, x

  • Long live Russia.

  • bad marching. Chinese marching is better. Same height and everything.

  • @xingwangbao sooooooooooooo .... Does it Matter .... They are both allies .... They are both becoming Superpowers .... They both do good and well desciliped Parades (Russia is faster, China is more kind of Militaric ) .... They are both in BRIC, They are both in SCO .... Russia takes prides in doing this parades and so does China .... Russia has a varied range of Uniforms ... Russia has more people taking parts in Parades every year .... This isn't Bad ... Imagine you being there parading , stfu

  • Even when we thought we were enemies I always enjoyed watching Russian Military Marching. Have several acquaintances who were born in Russia but escaped, communism. PEOPLE are pretty much the same everywhere. There are good and bad. Good & bad even in military. Right now I might prefer living in Russia to the U.S. because we have some very evil folks here trying to bring what destroyed Russia. Leadership of nations is always THE problem.

May God bless the Russian and the American people.

  • look stupid when they not move their arms...

  • My grand pa was sniper in red army

  • @ezzalatvia no russia is still the best all the other suck russia saved your ass

  • love and look up to Russia and his high level people,Literature, science, music & politcs.Long life to Russia

  • poland too ;)

  • That Red flag is VICTORY flag (not exactly USSR state flag - similar but not the same ) Like it or not but Victory flag it IS RED one. If Germany won that war then yes Germany could marsh using the Nazi flag .... as well as like many other countries would have to march with Nazi flag

  • i love russia, my beloved wife is russian, but as an ex military man i find these russian d&c guys lacking. if you look at brit or american drill and then this, well, our ruski comrads are poorly lacking.

  • Why do they call the first march the "Preobrazhenskiy" march? Preobrazhensky was the early Soviet economist who devised the principle of "Socialist Primitive Accumulation."

  • @neosoc Perhaps the name appears more than once in Russian history. This march was also used for the Czar which would go back a long way.

  • @neosoc Preobrazhenskiy Polk.... during late 1600 Peter the great while being a teenager made two "play" army's one of them was Preobrazheskiy, its consider to be the first Regiment of Guards... later on they are the one who help him to overthrow his older sister and get the throne. The name stuck till this day, Preobrazhenskiy Polk is one of the honorable Regiment of Guards, and they have their own way of marching/ drills. Therefore the name of Regiment transfered to the name of march.

  • @MishaRussia thank you for the good history lesson. Bob M

  • @SINStrykerSF Many of the units originated during the Second World War, under the Soviets. Thus, they retain their colours from that time.

  • my top 5 military pardaes are 1. Iran 2. China 3. N. Korea 4.N. Vietnam 5. Russia/Soviet Union. iraqi soldiers in their parade move way to slow.

  • @SINStrykerSF they show the soviet flag for historical purposes at times - just like in the US we show the flag with 13 stars at times. Bob M

  • @rmorecook That is the Banner of Victory, which is different from the USSR flag.

  • @rmorecook No, that is the victory flag, the actual physical flag they raised over the reichstag at the end of the battle of berlin. If you look closly you'll notice it isn't the flag of the soviet union, but is, in fact, the flag of the 150th Rifle Division, 79th Rifle Corps, 3rd Shock Army, Belorussian Front, the unit that captured the center of Berlin. They do not use the soviet flag for historical purposes because the soviet union killed millions of innocent people. They admit that.

  • Russia is the strongest and best country.

so that people are sincere and loves his country.

and not everything in Russia driven by money.

Russia is very strong because people are spiritually strong, but not

    mad and Kamikaze

  • what has china really done to have a parade?

  • This would be neat to see in real life.

  • I wouldn't mind the US throwing a massive military parade like this on July 4rth.

  • @TideatMileHigh

July 4th? Isnt that the day of the declaration of liberty or something?

  • LONG LIVE MOTHER RUSSIA !!!

  • @rmorecook agreed. they outdo the chinese too. perfect marching

  • @rmorecook i agree =)

  • woah. those PPsh submachineguns at *:57

  • Hail the Great Russian Army!

  • I can still see this going on for seveal hundred years, imigine an America military parade, you cant doubt it will be cool in concept lol

  • @rmorecook

north koreans are perfection, but they only kick their legs, which makes their soldiers look unbalanced. I think the Chinese works more on making it look better.

  • Russians rule in pomp and grandiosityl. When the pipes and drums appear, it's spectacular! Reminds me the French in the movie Waterloo, when the Old Guard head toward the British. Wow! Chinese rule in precision marching. They are eye-popping perfect. BTW, d biggest parades in youtube, see Yemeni army; like one million marchers! 50 men shoulder to shoulder. Incredible numbers!! Never knew Yemen had so many!

  • iran is also very good at marching

  • I know all these marching songs ... I want to march with them

  • why dose it look like the union marches we use to have in the uk in the late 70s-80s ???

  • I love and look up to Russia and his high level people,Literature, science, music & politcs.Long life to Russia.

  • If you ask me, it would just be plain better if the leaders would sit in the right place: on top of Lenin's tomb. It would be a lot more authentic and less post-soviet fake.

  • @ rmorecook - I did look at the Korean marching. You are right, they are brilliant. Imagine the months upon months of practising required. Had my share of military marching and know what it takes. The level of almost robotic precision marching by the Chinese and Koreans does,nt get the credit it deserves. Thats extremely hard work. Impressive as it may be, only communists like China, Russia and N/Korea are into this army parading. All 3 have copied the old Prussian goose step marching.

  • i don't see goose step marking in chinese parade.

  • see that dude behind the president he has a shit load of metals 1:32 to 1:35

  • This parade is pretty awesome, but I don't see anyone topping the Chinese soldiers marching. Amazing!

  • Impressive...

  • Eternal memory of our veterans! My grandfather fought in 45, while the army was strong!

  • Why do they march like the Nazis, who almost destroyed them in WWII?

  • It is the gratest day in Russian History. We won against fascist Germany every May 9th we celebrate. And this parade is dedicated to our fallen soldiers and our army.

  • @Sharx87 - You did not won Finland XD ...Thank God...

  • @cascol the nazis copied them. the ussr was founded in 1918/17 while nazi germany only existed since 1933

  • @jobjed

i don't exatly know what you mean, but if you are talking about the goose step: it's a prussian invention which has been taken over by many nations worldwide, though in this case the russians copied the germans.

btw germany and russia had many shared military traditions and influenced each other

  • Very Soviet esque, I love it.

  • Check out the thread on Chinese Military

Parade. Nobody, but nobody equals the

    Chinese in absolute precision marching.

It`s unbeleivable. Russian marching is like amateurs in comparison. On the other

hand, huge military parades with many marching men displaying so called power, might & weaponry is ok with em-

    pires, dictatorships & wannabe powers.

It does`nt belong with real democratic countries & real powers. Those don`t need ego boosting parades and patting themselves on the back.

  • awbvrou , you need to thinking on the another hand , russians parade NOT for their leaders , that is a pride of their race & history . that is why ,after many terrible frustrations. russians as a nation can survive and even more stronger than before.

  • @awbvrou

It depends on who (which soldiers) does the parade!! Parade is not only precision marching or goose-stepping march with robotic movements!!

These kind of parades show ( might, prestige, history, pride, memories, firmness, suffering, national unity, inspiration, glory etc,.. to call a few!!

    That gives Russian parades uniqueness!!

What has Chinese soldiers achieved in the last centuries??

It depends very much which soldiers does the parade!!

  • @awbvrou After watching the Chinese, everyone else looks like the boy scouts

  • @awbvrou absolutely right....

  • @awbvrou i kno, just compared the vids, and the chinese have imense dedication to whatever they set their minds to , its pretty amazing seeing them all in sync when they march

  • @awbvrou It's because the Chinese march daily instead of training, unlike the Russians.

  • pfft, we dont do parades like these because liberals, hippies and politically correct cunts will bitch and moan about taxpayers money and that showing guns or any love for your country is bad.

all while immigrants flood our borders, kids drop out of school and ruin our future.

parades like these aernt just shows of force, they are a rallying point for the nation and a source of pride, without such causes people stop caring, get slack and the country as a whole corrodes from the inside out

  • @awbvrou yeah you are right I saw military parade '99 the best parade ever and new chinese military parade ´09 with military vehicules, amaizin¡

  • @awbvrou

    on Red square marching cadets

What do you want from 17-years old kids? Also, they are marching very professional. They looks like humans, not like chineese robots lol (I don't want to abuse chineese military, just for me their goose steps looks funny)

  • @awbvrou

Chinese "precison marching" - you mean goose stepping in a straight line to shit, monotonous music? try looking up the Royal Marines, or best of all, the King's Garde Norway.

  • @awbvrou one nation tops china is the best marching, and its the nation with the next lowest human rights record...guessed it? North Korea, The airing games displays are incredible, probably so good because if they get it wrong, its the last mistake they will ever make.

  • @awbvrou first of all militray parads r triditions..they put on a military parade in every special ocasions...they dont just do this out of the blues..

  • @awbvrou all they do is march

  • @awbvrou You are missing the whole point of these parades. It's not to show the military power, it is to remember the horrible events and years of WWII, to honor the veterans and all those military servicemen that fell in battle. Also, it is made to show that Russia is always ready to respond to a threat. So, could you please use some analytical thinking before calling anyone an amateur, and commenting about democracy, empires and dictatorships. You are just showing your shallowness with that.

  • Impressive!!

  • Weird but it looks a lot like the parade of the vitory of WW2 in moscow.

  • That's what this parade was for, to celebrate the Russian victory over Germany during World war 2. Russia has had this parade every year since 1945 and they used to have a similar one in November celebrating Lenin's revolution, but that one ended in 1990.

  • This is the victory parade of WW2. Nice guess.

  • Good vodka is better than whisky!!!

  • every parade is cool :D

  • Guys, we in the U.S. do not parade our military in this fashion. Parading a military like this is what empires (or wannabe empires do). They like to display the "might" of their military. The U.S. military may be the most powerful on Earth, but we do not have parades where the President and VP and so forth stand and we have tanks rolling by displaying the glory and might of America. We are a republic.

  • Well maybe we should do that. That'd be awesome.

  • How do you think the Russians instill pride into the people?

  • Russian people have a different way of thinking than Americans, so in my opinion Americans don't feel a military parade mistic as Russians, in Russia parades were and are so traditional. It doesn't mind if Americans think parades are for empires or something like that, parades are the Russian proud

  • @RomelioSanz

It's not that the U.S. thinks these parades are for empires or anything, it's just that throughout history we Americans have had a love/hate relationship with our military. We like its protection, but we don't want to see it. "Speak softly, carry a big stick" is our doctrine.

  • @RomelioSanz

I can explain more: for russians military service this is not "killing" or "ass-kicking" or "I wanna join military to be a badass guy", just Russia has conscription and every male serving. Military service is so usual for russian as going to school, it's a part of life of every man. Russia has an old popular song, it's named "Army-this is me"

  • Hah! You really believe that dont you? :)

  • Such pride..

  • na russian dont marches the best thats china

  • Russia taught the Chinese how to parade like that. ;)

Just like how the British taught the Australians cricket... And we all know how that turned out!

  • No its the other way around the chinese taught the russians to parade like that but we do it more better

  • Is that red banner the Soviet banner?

  • I hope to see this one day live!

You have to stay at the National Hotel just off of Red Square and watch form the balcony, as Red Square is off limits to civilians during these parades.

  • I think Scots have the best army parade even thou they are under the control of uk i think its nice.

  • Russian Parades are always fun,as suppose of those we have in USA. Barely any parades! Not even on The Fourth of July! (Like May 4th,but in America)

  • Now that the German army is thoroughly americanized in - everything - they are the best marching army I have seen. I am in love with the lock step

  • italy is the best!!!...

  • I love how they march with the Red Army Standard, the crimson flag waving proudly.

  • its good my china is better

  • Discipline to march in parades is one thing. Discipline in actual battle is quite another. Want to see perfection in a mil parade? Look at the Chinese. Marching little machines, they are. Give me good 'ole capitilist freedom and a non-robotic military anyday. The ability to shift and change tactics in a split second is what wins battles. Not how well you look on a parade ground.

  • Hmm I think they marched better when they were Soviet. Oh well still impressive Russia!

  • I wonder if there is full length version of the Victory march of the Red Army in 1945, the one where the Nazi Flags were thrown to the ground before Stalin, I always thought that was cool.

  • i've always imagined that in communist countries, you get killed if you do something wrong in these parades :P

  • An imperial parade. You Russians are the only rightful successors of the Byzantine Greeks' Empire and its glory. You have added to that glory all these centuries with your achievements in all fields. You are the only ones who are really entitled to bear the Byzantine Greek emblem of the Double-headed Eagle, which symbolizes power and domimance to the East and to the West.

Greeks like me are proud of you!

  • Excelente, Rusia es grande

  • for mother russia
