nice i like the middle bit that (just judging by your fretting) looks like a pentatonic stint it sounds good and reminds me of the good old days, ur soloing ability is very good and your riff making will always continue to grow. I think that u have a lot of good things going in this video and are probably better by far by now so.
lol. I'm actually happy that someone think this. this isn't that fast, ans it's definately not sped up. Check my other video called "FAST Shred Improv." if you wanna see the fastest solo I've ever recorded on a vid.
@opethrocker888 actually it isn't speed up, there are too many ways to be a fast picker, and this guy plays fast, but he could be faster if he takes the pick in another position, I know what I'm talking about...
That was awesome dude, glad to see your not some lame speed freak cos although that was fast it had the occasional nice little phrase, and to an extent even the shredding was tuneful, keep rockin'!
awesome! you should make a picking exercise video.. cause my picking hand is whats holding me back right now. left hand is good but right cant keep up so it slows me down as a whole.
That's sick... I have a quick question.. I've been playin 8 years and I use "elbow picking" but my arm and shoulder cramp a lot after I play.. You have any advice on smoother picking?
try keeping your picking hand and wrist relaxed(i tense up my elbow too when i pick fast, but I can go for pretty long time. I think it's coz i keep my picking hands and wrist relaxed.) I think it makes it easier to get tired if your picking hand is tense. i'm thinking about making a video on fast picking, so check it out if I make one;)
When I saw the title, I thought, wow, another shredder here to enrich our lives with a lightning fast, vomitous aural attack...How wrong I was! My favourite 'shredding' clip on youtube of what I've seen so far. Sure it's not all a blitzkrieg charge but it's emotive and soulful as a guitar should be. I hear quite a bit of Satch in it, but that's good for me. Some appropriate tapping would make it transcendental! Excellent work man!
Yeah dude, picing 3 notes per strings is shred. Good shredding dude.. wow!.. I liked ho you neglected every other shred concept and technique. You rock dude!
you know, this guy doesnt just shred, he's got the feeling no matter if hes playin fast/slow, I love everytone! That tremolo picking, omg, 2,42. 2.45, thats the fastest Ive ever heard before
you know, i've been so hung up about learning how to sweep that i never really considered practicing fullpicking. getting ready to get flamed here, but is fullpicking basically just alternate picking? i like this vid and your style, and it makes me quite envious <3
Don't let it go to your head, but some of the riffs are reminicent of Al DiMeala circa 70's RTF with Chick! And yes, I am old enough to have seen RTF w/ AL many times in the 70's...
you said in someone elses video that you don't consider yourself a very fast shredder, but i beg to differ! you may have been just sounding humble but this is good!
Thanx. I'm using mostly E dorian and F# natural minor scale(coz there's a key change in this backing track) and adding flat 5th to both of the scales, and I also added some other chromatic notes to these scales. I've been playing for about 6~7 years.(someone already asked this earlier lol.)
never enough:P prolly only like an hour avereage during the school year. I practice a little more over the summer but I rarely practice over 3 hours a day.
A wise man once said "Excellence does not require perfection". Screw perfection, your playing is entertaining and excellent. Your shredding is more entertaining than many others I have seen. Now go buy a strat with heavy strings, play along to Stevie Ray, and get some bluesier phrasing under your belt. You'll be a very well rounded player indeed.

great lead ins, and your shred parts aren't boring and repetative like most i see
if another band hasn't already snatched you up i'd start making your own music asap.
