I recently got a jag with Tempest 2000 and the controller had an overlay to this game. What I'm curious to know is, what does the keypad do for this game?

@guysafari weapon switching and 'tank' controls allowing you to move forward whilst shooting sidewards etc. Pretty confusing at first though.

People go on about the Jaguar being crap, but look at the progress of game consoles 17 years before the Jaguar, and 17 years after. Comparisons can still be made today to games like AVP. The part that sucks is Flare who developed the chip set wanted to use the Jag 2 chip set which ran at more than twice the clock speed, would have included a CD drive as standard, and 4 times the 3D output. That would have been way more powerful than the PlayStation.

Hey that aircraft around 2:50 looks like a HK from Terminator. I really like the graphics on this game. Sure, they're blocky with 1 colour textures but it adds a lot of uniqueness to the Jaguar games that use this style. Think I might buy this. I need to start expanding my Jaguar collection.

This was easily one of the better Jaguar games. The difficulty progression was pretty smooth, although a few of the later levels were EXTREMELY difficult.

True that. Overall the system was in serious need of programmers. Despite a large handful of very fun games most of the stuff they came up with was pretty crappy(not Iron Soldier). Of course one could say that most games for any system aren't very good. It's just that the other systems(Playstation, Nintendo) had waaaaayyy more games and therefore more "hits".

@Adventurestud atari just didnt support it well enough. I sold mine to get a psx. Although I'd still love to play the best version of rayman, avp and iron soldier it was a very good move imo.

This was a revolutionary game back in 1994.Nothing like it was on any other system at the time. Iron soldier 2 is similar to it with sharper texture mapping.The CD version of Iron soldier2 adds full motion video and a better soundtrack. There's a cheat code in Iron soldier 2 to play as the satur walker. Iron soldier 3 on PSX plays identical to the first 2 but has sharper graphics. If u want to play the First 2 of the series,you must have a Jaguar.They were never on PSX.

No I will not take back that statement because the PSX was released only in Japan on 12/3/94. We Americans didn't get it until 9/9/95. Iron Soldier 3 didn't come out until late 96 or sometime in 97 if I remember correctly. By then Iron soldier1 was old and Jaguar was history. So the orginal statement holds true. In 1994,Genesis,SNES,Neo Geo, and 3DO had nothing like Iron Soldier.

Actually another man, Ralph Baer had originally invented pong long before the founder nolan bushnell. Its documented that the original inventer hosted his game at a science fair and bushnell attended it.

Bushnell had even written his name on the sign up sheet for the machine. So you could say bushnell stole the first video game.

Look up Ralph H. Baer, in 2006 he was given the national medal of technology for inventing video games. The man still invents games, bushnell doesn't. get it?
