  • do you have a build thread on this car cause im doing the same thing and just have a question on the shiftter set up, im running a T-5 trans and i dont see it reaching the where the shifter would sit??

  • This Is a smokin' build! I had a 300zx from this era, my favorite. I wish I knew how to fabricate stuff cause I would do the same. I've been thinking about getting a 240sx and doing the vh45de swap. The engine has a nice note, but not nearly as aggressive as the one you have here. By the way, that body kit is totally bad ass.

    Do you have any advice for a novice tuner? I'm trying to get into this kind of thing and my only real experience is installing car stereos. How do you learn fabrication?

    Negro Please, the vg30dett is a nightmare. Timing belt job is over 10hrs, even replacing the spark plugs requires a damn cherry picker. Dont get me started about engine harness and injector issues.  VG30 FTL

  • What????? a cherry picker for spark plugs are you knotts or clearly don't know what you are talking about? you wont have any harness issues as long as you keep the contacts clean and protected with dielectric grease the injectors could be easier to replace but there are methods that dont requiere the removal of the plenum. i have done it all so i know what i am talking about. Ill give you the estimate on the timimg belt but once again how many times do you change the belt ........1 every 60k

  • I am a Z owner and builder big VG30dett fan, but I have to admit that is an awesome job. Love the hood and body work. The only thing I would have done different is I would have boosted it too. Imagine what that would sound like that motor a decent size 70mm turbo. Also what paint code is that that looks beautiful you could swim in that paint job

  • the first plan was to turbo the car just ran out of time. i have two 52mm i was going to put on it ,but now those are going on a 63 chevy II im building.the paint code is a black off the 03 maxima with a touch of deep blue for the depth.

  • yeah im using the stock rear end. Its an n/a with 4;09 gears. Im using a t350 with manual valve body

  • Not bad for an NA motor. Healthy numbers. You probably spent less money then I did on my motor. I have over 20,000 dollars in my VG and putting out 750+BHP on twin turbos. lol

  • a whole lot less,only about 8,000 in the complete car,but i also do all the work myself with a buddy of mine.this was a katrina victom so it was the perfect canidate for a v8 swap,hopefully get to about 550hp with a little shot.
