I am really trying to manage to compleate 100m swimming free style, but im dead out of air by 50m! although I know how to swim properly and jog in the park, sprint, do swimming regularly, i still cant manage to do 100m, as im out of breath. what am I lacking, What am I lacking? :( :(
Thanks alot phillip =D . I'm 11 years old and i'm in level 3 of swimming (going to level 4) . But I can't graduate because whenever I swim freestyle, my face is looking ALL the way up to the ceiling......Now I will use your technique and hopefully it will help me! Wish me luck :)
@thelivingpoet i actually learned now the "secret" is not panicking people who drown are people that splash the water into their own mouth if you can move around without touching the ground in the 4 feet then you can swim just get in deeper water and pretend the floor is still there it makes you feel "safe" just remember to try this with a lifeguard near just in case you start panicking. -S3CS33
@protostar1000 Idk how to swim. Today I just learned how to float, but I'm guessing through the mouth. you have to do it really fast, or you could do it without breating for a few secs then do it
you better focus your head underwater and dont afraid...when you hit your breef focus ear on shoulder if you put head a little over the shoulder the ear will be with water...and you must stop ... My advice is hold your breef enjoj while you swiming freestyle and when you learn its fantastic feel trust me !
@DNAnh14 Hey when im in my swimming lessons I can swim perfect strokes just the only thing thats hard is the breathing. Im fine when my face is in the water but sometimes when i come up it just goes up my nose and down my throat which makes me stop but i used to do it all the time cuz was scared to put face in Lol. onver 5 lessons ive worked out how to sort it! It is normal for some people! a nose clip works wonders! What ever you do when u go under the water dont breathe in! Hope i helped
@AnnirocRebok it has to do with your head position , you should position your head the way that the water level comes to your forehead and let`s out the top part of ears.
You just got to roll your head until one eye is underwater and your cheek is facing water . This way the water witch bump to you forehead will tend to low the water-level on witch your face is positioned so you just won`t get any problems but don`t forget to let the air out underwater .
@TheEMPEROR800 Thank you for your support! So if I understood right (I am not originally English speaking) I might turn my head too far? Letting out the air under water is not a problem for me.
But everytime I try to take a breath I get a "wave" in my mouth. So it is not at all a way of swimming that makes me feel comfortable - even that I am pretty good in breaststroke. Do I maybe need to make stronger moves with my arms to be higher and therefore more far away from the water?
@AnnirocRebok You need to time it right . A strong push with your underwater arm when it is positioned below the body and you just have to roll your head right but remember than you shouldn`t move your chin close to your shoulder but instead just roll . You must position your head right , the water level should reach exactly when your swimming cap reaches in your forehead . You will actually see that that guy head bash the water and puts the waterlevel lower then normal in the mouth part . ;)
Thank you for your advice! It seems like it helped me!
Right now it works for a half lane and only with breathing every second stroke. I am glad that at least it works for this. Not sure yet to do what better move with the arm under the water. Sometimes I still have the mouth full of water but it seems I get a feeling.
To me it feels a little bit like dancing - I am just missing that I can enjoy it since it is a lot of work right now for me. I wonder when I will be able to breath every 3rd stroke and to do 20 50m-lanes (equals 1km).
Now I go 1 whole 50m-lane without stoping. Not perfect yet but I hope I will get there. Maybe I'll have to move more with the whole body while changing armstrokes between breathing. I need to take a breath every 2 strokes. My goal: breath every 3 strokes.
Still I think I do something wrong with my legs.
It is very exhausting. I could not go on directly after having finished one lane. I need to learn this since breaststroke makes my knees ache badly.
@AnnirocRebok With pain comes training . If you don`t ache then the training had no affect . You can but remember that each swimmer has is own style of swimming , technique etc . Try doing 5000 m every day , I think you could do that :D
Breaststroke I went in half an hour about 1.200 m. I never checked every second of it. It is not extraordinary. But I really need to stop breaststroke. I never had problems and right now I have pain all day long in both knees.
Freestyle I practice nearly daily. It starts feeling better, I can do it more often. Still not doing one lane after the other with no break but I am working on it. Sometimes still swollowing water :-(
Your whole body should turn back and forth a bit every time you take a stroke
most people who dont swim competitively normally dont stretch their arms out as far which doesn't make the body turn
So if you stretch your arms out further every time you take a stroke maybe breathing would be easier for you because you wouldnt have to turn your head as far
And your at the right water level if your able to see in and out of the water
Thank you for your advice! It seems like it helped me!
