@macktenful I'm failing to see your point. This video was comparing the two cars in a "burnout super test", not a price war.  Both cars are awesome. I think the CTS would be a blast to drive. The C6 Z06 is faster, handles better, and apparently smokes em better. You won't see me doing any of this shit with mine that's for sure, the 325 rears are 500 bucks a pop.

The cars that you see in most any automotive testing (outside of Consumer Reports) are usually pulled from a fleet of vehicles designated for "evaluation" that are invalid for regular automotive registration. Once these vehicles have completed their media and testing purposes, they are returned to the manufacturer for engineering tear-down. When engineering is through, the vehicles are simply crushed and recycled.

To visually communicate this, corp. ads for Dodge will feature a red vehicle and Chrysler ads will feature a silver one. We also use what are called "bucks" which are fully assembled vehicles that are missing the entire roof or cut down the middle or whatever. For Ford, we can use CAD/CAM files and actually build a 3D computer model to use in ads w/o ever even having a real vehicle.

The tires will only spin out if the wheels are spinning faster than the car is moving, therefore if the car can spin the tires at a higher speed, then it will take longer for the cars actual speed to catch up to the tire speed. The z06s first gear goes to 60mph compared to the cts-vs only going to about 35 so it will take the cts-v less distance to reach the actual top speed of it's first gear and which means a shorter burnout.

Unless GM lied about their specifications and you can give a legitimate source then yes, I would like more proof.

@IxOVERKILLxI not sure why it doesn't work but if you google cts-v rear axel ratio, it is about the 5th one down. i also googled 2012 cts-v gear ratios and only 3 of them said 2.66, one of them being the one you listed. the rest said the manual had a 4.15 and the automatic had a 4.06. Tremec does offer different gear ratios for their 6060, so it is possible that their are different transmissions available. too bad GM is too stupid to not post gear ratios for any of their high performance cars.
