  • Thanks for putting this up. Watch it everytime I regrip one of my squash rackets :D Viktor, Norway.

  • I accidently put my overgrip on backwards(i wrapped it on the wrong side) is there gonna be any difference or any problems with it?

  • @KAYNOMY

Do you mean backwards as in the wrong side facing outwards (tack on the inside, back on outside) or as in wrong direction? If it was towards the wrong direction, you may have just gripped it the equivalent of a left handed player's grip. I've known several players who use a left handed style grip while being right handed, and they just get used to it, not having any problems. If you meant the tack on the inside and the backing on the outside, it just won't be very tacky.

  • make one for tourna grips

  • i'm thinking about changing my wilson hybrid pro grip on my racquets to a leather grip with an over grip. any ideas about a good combo that i can use to preserve my handle size?

  • what racquet is that?

  • Which over-grip do u recommend to give the same feel and gripping as that of a leather grip?

  • lol, noooooob

  • @mansory2050 lol, i was just about to say the same thing when i scrolled down and saw your comment

  • Thank you sooo much! I kept on just watching people on Youtube put on grips you don't have to cut, and I didn't know how to cut the one i bought. Thanks for the help!

  • i just dont understand where in the grip i make the marks so i can cut it :'(

  • so does the side with the adhesive go on the bottom? Because my friend keeps saying it goes on top and after that I got really confused.

  • @Cardshark45

The adhesive is meant to be face down, adhering to the grip, making it easier and quicker to apply the overgrip.

  • for a racquet like the babolat aerodrive, should i use the original grip for a while, then put on a overgrip,or could i put on an overgrip as soon as i got it?

  • @theMrawesome999,

You can use an overgrip immediately if you desire. There are many to choose from with options from dry and absorbent to very tacky.

  • @tenniswarehouse Yeah, thanks for telling me. I am really fond with the Wilson Pro Overgrip which I have used for 2 years and when I started using them, I was unexperienced and not sure whether I could have put it on a while ago.

  • does it matter which direction to wrap (clockwise or counter-clockwise) for right or left handed player?

  • @pluib Yes. For right handers, wrap counter clockwise. For left handers, wrap clockwise.

    Jason, TW

  • @tenniswarehouse the counter clockwise from wich prespective if u look from head down or from handle up??

  • @ShaggyR1z1a,

    Always handle up.

    Siobhan, TW

  • OHHH! haha i know how to cut it now. before this, i just cut at an angle and hope it fits ; thank you guys.

  • do the finishing tapes come along with the overgrip when you buy them? or do you buy the finishing tape separately?

  • @carrt007 yes they do.

    Jason, TW

  • Do i have to remove the grip that my racket already have before i put the new one?? Thanks!

  • @paogera,

There are two categories of grips: Overgrips and replacement grips.

When installing an overgrip as shown here, it goes over your existing grip. Overgrips are not very durable and need to be changed frequently. Their advantage is that they save your original grip from wear and offer you a ton of different choices in level of tack, cushioning, absorption, perforation etc.

A replacement grip is much thicker, has adhesive backing and replaces your existing grip.

    Hope that helps.

    Chris, TW

  • i was demoing a racquet from a pro shop the other day, and it had an overgrip that looked a lot like the one in this video. it was white, rubbery, and felt really good to me. the only grip i saw at this shop was "super grap." is that what was on here?

  • @airsoftbuddies50,

I think Jason is wrapping a Wilson Pro Overgrip White here which is very similar to Super Grap.

    Chris, TW

  • i don't even bother cutting the end of mine, i just wrap it thickly

  • didnt know that ur supposed to angle the tapered edge start bit down
