I was at Warwick 2003-2006 and loved it! A lot of these comments seem to miss the point. If you want to go out to lots of different clubs every night, Warwick probs isn't for you. If you want a close-knit community and to create your own fun, Warwick is great. Everything and everyone is close by. You're only likely to find it dull if you lack a bit of imagination and require constant entertainment. Academically it's also excellent. Lots of culture to see too courtesy of the Arts Centre.

I approached a company called the Institute of Independent Colleges and University teachers (ICUT) for some private tutoring in economics (I'm a 1st year undergrad) and the director of the company (Dr. Vincent McKee) took out 750 pounds from my credit card when he explicitly told me on the phone that he would charge me 500 pounds. hmm, I don't think film does Wariwck any justice.... I really like Warwick, and if I could afford to do another degree, I would stay at Warwick to do it. I think all of these comments about Warwick being good or being shit are all a load of bull. at the end of the day, a university is either right for you, or it's not. Leicester University DULL? Only if, like every other place, you to the campus on a Sunday (and unlike a 60s campus university you don't live there). Leicester clearly designed the campus so carefully and compactly. They hired distinctive architects for their buildings. mixing traditionalism and modernity. The halls of residence at Leicester are generally beautiful Edwardian houses that have outer extensions, they each have their own character and many events and the city has many clubs and pubs.

It's amazing, trust me. I've been here for four years: I did my undergrad and now I'm doing postgrad, and I wouldn't change anything. My brother goes to a London uni, and he hated it, there was no sense of community like there is here. It feels like you know everyone on campus as you walk around, like it says in the video, you're bound to bump into someone you know. And in second year you get to move off campus and experience city life.

um. you totally misunderstood my comment. if you'd read it carefully, you'd have seen my CRITICISM of those who go out "getting drunk every night". I (like many) came to Warwick for its good academic reputation. the prob is the general "type" that the uni attracts. apart from studying for study's sake/drinking cheap beer around unworldly ppl, I also like cultural things, music, life, excitement, etc. Aren't these things important? Sorry but for me, academia is more than just a few stuffy books.

Those who *love* Warwick seem to be people that have never had a social life before uni (from the shires, naive, tyrannical parents), are bowled over by the prospect of going out and getting drunk and are easily satisfied with mundane crap for 3-4 yrs. However , if you aren't BORING AS FUCK then there really is NOTHING else to do. With the same grades, you could get into Notts or UCL. The people shown in this video are good representative examples. I mean Costcutters??!

I was at Warwick from 1997-2001. Yeah, ok, it's not a bustling metropolis, but christ, guys, enjoy it while you can! Believe me, if you think uni is boring, try being a 27-year-old single parent, with a full time job and bills to pay. I'd give anything for a week or two of university high-jinks! I have many memories of Monday nights at Top Banana and watching football in the Airport bar.Though I was always rat-arsed, so I'm surprised I have any memories at all!

lol i was there that night. yeh the drugs policy is harsh in the extreme. I read in a newspaper interview with the director that the uni is the most crime-free in the uk... although the no. of students punished for petty things - i.e. making a loud noise - is also the highest in the uk!
