They were up and cleared the road by the time they passed, again, if they needed a band-aid or CPR, i'm sure it would have been different, but they waved them on...again maybe if you were there you would be able to comment correctly on what happened.
it looks like the first bike loses the rear but i recon he fort he had to much corner speed and pull the front brake and tucked the front and the rear slides round and if the second bike had the new cbr 1000 with abs that may have not happend he got scared and that was his first instinks pull the brakes hard as possible if it was me i would pull then 50% and then revue the sitituation but then again it is a split second decision
Lead rider went in too hot for his ability, hit the brakes as he started leaning, lost the rear. The rear rider just simply screwed up and locked them up trying to avoid his buddy. Target fixation and inability to manage the panic situation.

hate to be the devils advocate but I have been both the biker and the guy in the hot car in my life and it seems to me that your lead car in your pack was intimidating the bikers which led to them dumping thier bikes, why did'nt you give them room insted of crowding them? and you didnt even stop
The only person responsible for dumping the bike is the rider. The rider has the right to set his/her own speed at any time. They also have the right to move to the side of the road when it is safe. Now, whether or not the rider has the ability to make the decisions is another matter.
If you want to help in this situation: Place your car/ truck whatever in the APEX of the next curve. That is the logical next place for a motorists line of sight, and gives an oncoming motorist time to react b/c it's at the last point of vision. Never stop around the corner. Sure enough, somebody will come around it, and slam into you b/c YOU didn't leave a buffer, or were not in a line of sight.
I love that excuse "I laid it down to keep from hitting..." which is complete hogwash. The second you put your machine down you are out of control. He did not lay her down to prevent hitting the other rider. He laid it down cause he over braked and had a little panic action going on. I know the road well, and there's no reason why that bike "had" to go down. Over breaking is the cause here. Unlike a few weeks ago when it was tranny fluid out of that van that caused a couple of riders to go down.

Car following too close, want them off your ass, push it a little too hard and wham! your eating ramen noodles and riding a mt. bike trying to pay off the bike that you no longer have. Second bike went down on purpose, rather than hit the bike that was already down... safer to low side it than risk doing a high side, with a rocks and mountain on one side and a freakin cliff on the other... your right about the one S2000... he was too close to the other and had to go around. Drivin a car at the gap is hard too, really gotta know the limits of the car.
the ahole in the berlina S2000 should not have needed to go around you when you had to brake hard for the crash. I wouldn't want to run the dragon with him. Then he honks at you to boot...

Hard to say.
If it was early in the day, in the fall air with dew not burned off yet, could have made it a bit greasy.
Hard braking on both wheels dry, would of been fine.
Could of been stink berries left over from crushed possum.
This would of been ugly with oncoming heavy vehicle rolling over both of them.
If in doubt, go a little slower & lower. Never assume.

You are correct, too much front brake. It's brake btw and not break. That's what happened to parts of the bike as it hit the ground.
