  • hey does anyone know if you can make custom shortcuts like recorded ones of yourself for things on an eee pc ? I want to open a music program I have installed by voice command on my eee pc..

  • Can Ubuntu Eee do that?

  • does this work for eee 1000?

  • i just got a 2 gb surf eee pc and it doesnt seem to have an icon like that one... do you have to download this application

  • woow :) thanks man! i thaught my eee pc doesn´t undterstand my accent. It´s great that you showed on youtube that it works becayse i gave up on this. MANY THANKS!!!! i wonder if you have more videos about how to use it - like instaling the drivers for example... I have no idea how to install old canon driver so it sees it as a hard drive.

  • very instructive video!!!

learned to use my EEE before it had arrived.

but got to a big problem, like many other people,,, after updating voicecommand from asus, it just stopped working... did it happen to you??

I've sen many people at eee user forum complaining about it.

  • oh no did anyone notice the micro$oft ads noooooooooo

    eee rocks

  • Actually I wonder how big the screen is... it doesn't look like the pictures of the 7" with the speaker-bars at the sides which i have seen...

Am I wrong? I'm confused... pls answer :P

  • if you listen... it is hooked up to an external monitor.

  • list to the first words lol

  • This is really a fantastic micro notebook.

The most incredible thing is that is able to use the full 3d stuff of ubuntu.

    But what video card uses??

And no problem for the storage capabilities, cause i've an external hdd (usb) 360 Gb

This cool object is a real investment for the businessmen who can easily work on a plane, and , at the end of work , transfer all on the ext hdd.

  • oh great, so an external hard drive works fine for this machine? i was to buy a 360GB "portable" external harddrive so I can keep it with the laptop all the time..

also... how are sites like yahoo and gmail? i want to go to these sites most often.. other than that, just need word processing and storing music and pictures.

i too want to work mostly on the plane.. though i guess it wont last much above a few hours right? the trip to new zealand in a month will kill it :)

  • Geek its official but still cool

  • hehehe.. nice. When you click on "voice command" you see in the right bottom instantly it has been started. No need to wait at all :-)

Not that I need a voice command... well maybe when playing old school text-adventures ... "open door, go south"

  • volume up and when you said "computer mail" my eee said "web", and then you said "computer web" my eee said "movie" - it got camera, clock right (twice). you hijacked my eee.

  • Thanks for the videos... I'm considering getting my younger brother one of these to teach him to use linux a bit - and also to get him into tinkering with hardware and software. I think it would be a good use for it... Also as another internet connected device for our house.

  • It's a nice little computer but i'm not too wild about the tiny screen and small hdd even though it's ssd.

  • There is a SD card slot on the right side so you can extend the storage easily. Although Im waiting for the 8GB/1GB (ram) unit to be released in a few weeks.

  • Very nifty device, isn't it? Perfect for my coursework.
