@BigPapaBear1000 Raped women and people who has been sexually abused have a very high suicide rate (and also are sometimes murdered by the perpetrator) - it is actually quite easy not to survive something this traumatic.
This is the most honest, true, and real account of rape I have ever seen. Thank you so much for making it. I wish I could have seen it years ago. I don't think people really understand what it does to you, and your faith in yourself, to have people think that since it wasn't black and white that you are just making a fuss over nothing. It really is about consent, not a threshold for visible violence...
Thank you so much for this. It's encouraging & empowering.
& 717rch, i am going to ask you to please be more respectful. If this doesn't impact you then you are truly blessed to not have rape in your life. Try to understand what these women & many others have gone through, & don't ridicule them.
I think this is a very important video to share with women but what I dont understand is why do they call themselves rape 'survivors'? I know the word victim might not help with coping with such a traumatizing event. But how do you 'not' survive a rape? if you survive something than there has to be a chance that you could not have. but you cant 'not' survive a rape...
Well done! This film is important! Yes. Rape is real and yet the adaptations we create make it hard to hold on to. So glad I found your channel. I'd love to talk with you about the documentary I am working on: 'Living After Rape'. My YouTube channel is: LivingWithPTSD. Our newest clip is about the 'Shame Faerie'. A first take on exploring this difficult aspect. Best to you, Andrea Bredbeck
@LivingWithPTSD Thanks for the comment! This film sparked a nonprofit that has a video call for entries out right now... your film may be a perfect fit. Check out Tabu's Rape and Sexual Violence Video Contest: tabutalk [dot] org/projects $1,500 dollars in awards!!! Deadline is July 1st.
Im Jess Im 17 and I just wanted to say Its so comforting to have other people share the same experience as me . I was raped just over a month ago , and all my friends have turned on me , and like the older woman in the video , they blamed me because I was drunk . Its one of the hardest things , having your close friends doubt you . I can feel their pain , . . It's like looking in the mirror . It's just painful . this video is amazing , thank you so much .
Awesome video! Today is my 13 yr since.

This is a very powerful video. Well made and I think each of these women speak for so many thousands of others whose voices have not been heard.
