This film is one of those amazing films of it's genre that are all to rare to find! It's funny when it needs to be, darkly gripping, and really eerie, there is nothing like it on the market! It's like a massive combanation of Eraserhead, Requiem for a Dream, the Hitcher and of course, the origonal book. An amazing adaptation! A complete masterpiece; don't watch it online. Definately worthy of your hard earned cash!
i watched this last night and i was thinking it was one of the stupidest movies ive ever seen but then i realized the point of it and it actually was pretty good. Creepy… but good
wow to many people liked this movie hmmmmm? honestly I didnt like this movie I just rented it because of Stephen King's. I watched the Mist and that movie was awesome. I even couldn't continue this movie it wasn't what i expected and that is my opinion.
There is a video on here of the real Bullet ride (just called The Bullet in the title), the one Stephen King writes about in the story - it's not a roller coaster but a scary ass "bullet" shaped ride that takes you high up in the air and twists you upside down and around. Considered one of the really good rides at the fair - meaning a real thrill ride, not just "whee!" but "Agh!!" or in my case, "Holy shiiiit!!!" and "Fuuuck!!" lol
Just finished the short story. Too bad the movie doesn't show the REAL Bullet. I rode it as a kid. Was always scared shitless of it, but after a few years of being a chicken decided to face my fear once & for all. Waited in line, shaking w/ fear & determination. Watched as others before me turned upside down & around. Finally got on, feeling light-headed & lead-footed. Felt relieved it wasn't scary at first, but when that sucker went upside down, all hell broke loose out my mouth in curse words.
i love the short story...its close to my heart really! ive seen this movie a couple of years back and i just read the short story in Stepehn King's EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL. but, isnt it that the mother is supposedly fat and sweaty? just wondering. But i love the movie as well. i can relate to the role of Joshua Jackson
the king movies never turn out great, i do want to watch this one though, autopsy room wasnt baaaaaaaad, wasnt that great of a story to begin with, but my god mr stephen king, may you live long and continue your long winding road to carpel tunnel syndrome
@telitubie70 Maybe your are talking about Stan in IT? But Stan does not cut himself accidentally...quite the contrary, he cuts himself ON PURPOSE, writing "IT" on the tiles with his blood shivers
@BigXSmoke1 Not quite. Christine is a 1958 Plymouth Fury. The one here is a 1960 Fury. I do find it funny though that they have the same paint scheme.
Erm... Anyone read the story? Wasn't actually that scary and relatively philosophical. A guy knocks his head and has a hallucination about gripping on to his life no matter how many bumps there are. That's it! Wtf with the monsters man?
@RobbClifton wtf?..I think YOU have the wrong story dude, the novel "riding the bullet" was much like this trailer,I even remember most of the scenes in this trailer from the Kings novel..so i quess, you are mistaking..BUT yeah, the novel was more about choises and (spoiler) "it was a dream" type than straight up horror..sorry my bad english, try my best;)
this movie was pretty underrated. idk why the reviews were THAT poor...i usually hate horror movies, but after watching this one i was quite surprised. i liked it. there was a bit of a twist too. this movie wasn't that scary, but more creepy in my opinion. i recommend it!
This movie is awesome, kinda reminds me of a halloween that really stood out...was realy scary. Anyways guys, SEE THIS MOVIE! THIS IS SERIOUSLY, LIKE THE BEST STSEPHEN KING SHORT STORY ADAPTAION ALONG WITH 1408!
HIGHLY underated film. One of THE best Stephen King film adaptations to date. Critics and audiences who besmirched it had to have let the film's allegory and brilliant dark humor fly right of their heads. The fact its IMDb rating is only 5.1 is nothing but egregious.
The film also holds quite a bit of personal relevance for me, as I road 'The Bullet', so to speak, with the death of my own mother last year.
i like this movie!!! the ending part. like the things about life and the part where it shows alan when he is older is really good!!! somethings just never last!!!
Idk i really didnt like this movie at ALL because of all the flashbacks and stuff that happens it jus really confused me but i dont really mean to disrespect it id jus like other peoples views on the movie also
The guys name who plays Alan is Jonathan Jackson...

(: RTB is not a book. Its a fourty-page (ish) novel/short story. (So is "1408", but that's besides the point.)
Really good though, one of my favs.
