john carpenter for making the series because if he didnt make what is now a big franchise of movies Michael Myers would be a horror icon but as much as i like the original 1 and 2 I can get more into the rob zombie reimaginings of the series cause of the suspenseful scenes chases death scenes all of those things make a awesome horror film

on one of Cinemassacres videos there was a top ten with shatners movies, I don't remember the title but the face Shatner did was exactly like myers black eyed appearence in halloween as well as the gestures. the only difference is that the makeup used on shatner kept his skin color whilst the myers mask was pale white.

Wow I'm surprised so many of you never knew that the original mask was a Kirk mask. That story has been circulating for at least 15 years. Along with how they (because of the ultra low budget) ran to local store and bought a Kirk mask, did the spray paint and changing the hair etc. I know Shatner had issue with this after H1 became successful and wanted money. This is true. The producer of the original Halloween, Debrah Hill and John Carpenter actually bought and used a Captain Kirk mask for the Michael Myers character. They cut the eyes open a little more, darkened the hair and painted it more pale white and it worked out very well.

on one of Cinemassacres videos there was a top ten with shatners movies, I don't remember the title but the face Shatner did was exactly like myers black eyed appearence in halloween as well as the gestures. the only difference is that the makeup used on shatner kept his skin color whilst the myers mask was pale white.

Wow I'm surprised so many of you never knew that the original mask was a Kirk mask. That story has been circulating for at least 15 years. Along with how they (because of the ultra low budget) ran to local store and bought a Kirk mask, did the spray paint and changing the hair etc. I know Shatner had issue with this after H1 became successful and wanted money. He's obviously wrong about the "white death mask" if there was one it's not what Carpenter used. "It was used in a horror movie?" Come on

sad thing is i don't really think he knows what he's talking about. The Captain kirk mask was took and had the hair darkened, sideburns ripped off, eyes cut larger, and then spray painted white. There was no White Death captain kirk mask. It was just a regular kirk

As for the "death mask" remark he could've been referring to the fact that they took a mold of his face and made a Shatner mask...much like the process of making a death mask. I think he just got mixed up when he called it a white death mask.

@MrMoore2090 Oh i live a fairly good life, I make replica myers masks for a living and being that it was halloween, i sold 36 masks this month at 250 a piece. Total mask sold this year is 89 copies. (do the math) And that's just my hobby i do on the side as i work as a mailer agent for River Side printing. Im engaged to a die hard horror fan to loves my work.
Now the people that don't have lives are one who spend all of there time putting down vids, as thats all your post seem to be..

@michaelandymyers Actually when he says "they" made a death mask he means Carpenter and crew... He is saying that they took the Kirk mask and made it into a "Death" mask and acted like they were sold in stores and that's how Micheal got it. Towards the end he talks about going to the store and buying a Myers mask and taking his kids trick or treating...

This is true. The producer of the original Halloween, Debrah Hill and John Carpenter actually bought and used a Captain Kirk mask for the Michael Myers character. They cut the eyes open a little more, darkened the hair and painted it more pale white and it worked out very well.

Ha Ha! My friend just told me about the origins of the Micheal Meyers mask of the Holloween movie. I think it's really Kool that William Shatner's face was used to make the mask. Or should I say captain Kirk? Either way it is still him. I cracked up when I found out & had to Google & Youtube it. Very interesting! :)
