Good question - just before the fireworks were abouit to start to mark the departure of the QE2 it appeared infront of us, stopped turned 90 degrees and then proceeded down the river with the rapidly flowing incoming tide! Thanks for your interest.
It was swinging to stem the tide,then going into Alfred lock !
