It's simple enough to get XenServer running on VMWare - the point is, you cant run any virtualisation in XenServer because it doesnt have recursive access to the CPU virtualisation aspects of the chipset - which is required.
I.e. You can run a virtualised XenServer on VMWare, but you can not then run a virtualised citrix VM from within that environment. You just get told that HVM is required.
GigaSecond makes and sells SAN ARRAYS iSCSI/FC/InfiniBAND that are highly compatible with Hyper-V, XEN and VMware write me dean @ gigasecond com or call me 410 251 5084 gigasecond com
printf ("Hello World!\n"); - COMPUTER SCIENTIST? Then associate with your peers at computerscienceassociates .co.uk /register GET vacancy alerts, salary reports, CV tips, career advice...MOVE JOB
in my case it is just for demo reasons. It's because you can't install xenserver parallel to your normal windows installation. Xenserver grabs the whole harddisk.
BlasterFX1, was there anything special about the VMware configuration. I'm trying with Workstation 6.02 and XenServer 4.1 but it gets stuck at 13% during hardware detection of the XenServer install.
VM Workstation Config: Other Linux 2.6 Kernel 64-bit, 1024mb memory, 16gb HD
There is no point doing this is there?

To solve this problem, you have to choose IDE for harddisk and DVD. Then you have to edit the VMX-File of the virtual machine and change
scsi0.present="TRUE"
to
scsi0.present="FALSE"
Had the same problem and now it works fine.
The problem doesn't occur in 4.01

Nono guys. This is a Norwegian band called Ugress. This tune is called "Rain". They have a lot of free mp3's - just google them... :)
