The meaning of life is life itself. You must make the best of it. Believing in the afterlife means you will live and work towards it, and this is wasteful. Life is measured in quantity. See, hear, feel as much as you can while you have the chance. I feel sorry for the people that have to find out that, after they die, it all ends. Must be horrible if you have wasted your life away preparing for what supposedly comes after.
This is my opinion. Some see it as wisdom, some as blasphemy.

You know, I've grown up in a Christian family. They always tell me to trust in God, but that's REALLY hard for me. I always feel like I have to take control. But in my Sunday school class, my youth leader played some of this movie to tie into his message. I wasn't really listening to it. I thought it was kind of stupid. But when this song started playing, it really jumped out at me. I started reading about Joseph and God's plan for him; how he worked it all out. Our God truly is an awesome God.

I am no longer a religious person, for my own reasons. But I will always love the beauty of the songs in this movie and Prince of Egypt. Like looking back on the sweet moments of an abusive relationship. it was a nightmare, but at least a few of the moments were beautiful.

And it's typical of someone to say that they don't give a crap about what we Christians believe. But that just shows that you haven't felt the love of Jesus. It's the best feeling in the world to be loved unconditionally. It's better than a thousand earthly loves--better than family, friends, boyfriends. God's love brings tears to my eyes every time.

I can't even believe my God would do what He's done for me--I'm SO not worthy of it. And I don't think of my "religion" as a "better way" of life. For me, it's the ONLY way of life. But it may not be for someone else, and I can accept that. I don't try to force my religion on people, I just want them to respect my beliefs.

For someone who knows God's love, feeling like you've lost it is... really, really horrible. But He has never forsaken me. I may feel distant from Him, but God's always by my side. The problem is that a lot of "Christians" (probably non-demoninational) see Catholicism as a way of life more than a personal relationship with God (at least in my experience). So when they ask, "Are you saved?" I do think they are overstepping their boundaries a little. But I can sympathize at times since I have often seen my Catholic friends as acting a bit un-Christian outside of church.

However, the best version of all, quite surprisingly, is the Korean one. If you search for 내 길 더 잘 아시니 (Nae Gil Deo Jal Asini), you'll find it. The singer and the accompaniment put the English in the deep dark shade. I'm not religious but it still made me cry for its pure passion and love. I want THAT accompaniment, or the sheets!

Joseph has always been my favourite like Bible Old/New Testament. I cried when I first watched the film, it's gives you the idea what people were like in those days.

@RedKingCommandz He follows God so it's one and the same if you're a Christian. And no, Joseph is not a Jew. The typical Jewish heritage began after the exile in Babylon. Joseph was a son of Jacob (Israel), which would therefore make him an Israelite I suppose. But that term generally didn't show up until after Genesis... and so after Joseph.

This movie was wonderful, but not nearly so much as The Prince of Egypt. That movie was spectacular. All the same, this one is pretty good :)

This song has helped me through so many difficult times in my life. I know it comes from a children's movie...but does that really make it any less amazing? Sometimes you just have to let go for a moment and let the greater power take control. It doesn't matter if you're Christian, Wiccan, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, etc. The meaning of this song is spoken in the universal language.

This song was of great help to me. My dad is dying of pancreatic cancer, and I sometimes feel like God is stealing something from me - precious time with my Dad. But then I remember that God always has a plan for us. We just may not see the whole grand design.

I am no longer a religious person, for my own reasons. But I will always love the beauty of the songs in this movie and Prince of Egypt. Like looking back on the sweet moments of an abusive relationship. it was a nightmare, but at least a few of the moments were beautiful.

@krisdijne Actually no. Saying "I'll pray for you" to an atheist is like saying "I hope you can one day have the happiness I have in Christ." And it's typical of someone to say that they don't give a crap about what we Christians believe. But that just shows that you haven't felt the love of Jesus. It's the best feeling in the world to be loved unconditionally. It's better than a thousand earthly loves--better than family, friends, boyfriends. God's love brings tears to my eyes every time.

God's love is different from earthly love, and His happiness is different, too. It's better. So much better. But I don't expect you to sympathize with me, and that's okay. I know in this world it's difficult to put our faith in something. But everyone believes. There's no one who believes in nothing. That's how we're made.

@krisdijne I'm very sure of myself, and I think that, yes, that can be seen as a type of arrogance. But it isn't. I've seen a lot in my life, and I know I'm nothing special. I can't even believe my God would do what He's done for me--I'm SO not worthy of it. And I don't think of my "religion" as a "better way" of life. For me, it's the ONLY way of life. But it may not be for someone else, and I can accept that. I don't try to force my religion on people, I just want them to respect my beliefs.

@krisdijne Oh, and I KNOW what it's like not to have Christ. I've seen it in others, I've felt separated from him myself. WORST FEELING EVER. For someone who knows God's love, feeling like you've lost it is... really, really horrible. But He has never forsaken me. I may feel distant from Him, but God's always by my side. And I HAVE considered why I think my God is superior. Not everyone understands the difference between God and other religious figures. But I do. So, to me, God alone is great.

The message of humility and acceptance here is clear; something you might be missing, pointing your finger so proudly and exclaiming how good your group must be (and I say group and not religion because I mean to make a point in general, not to attack Christianity) to have made something beautiful.

The problem is that a lot of "Christians" (probably non-demoninational) see Catholicism as a way of life more than a personal relationship with God (at least in my experience). So when they ask, "Are you saved?" I do think they are overstepping their boundaries a little. But I can sympathize at times since I have often seen my Catholic friends as acting a bit un-Christian outside of church.

@rlhennessey The best you will find on Youtube is the arrangement by James Allen, it should be there on the related videos column. It's fan-made, of moderate quality. However, the best version of all, quite surprisingly, is the Korean one. If you search for 내 길 더 잘 아시니 (Nae Gil Deo Jal Asini), you'll find it. The singer and the accompaniment put the English in the deep dark shade. I'm not religious but it still made me cry for its pure passion and love. I want THAT accompaniment, or the sheets!

Joseph has always been my favourite like Bible Old/New Testament. I cried when I first watched the film, it's gives you the idea what people were like in those days.

@RedKingCommandz He follows God so it's one and the same if you're a Christian. And no, Joseph is not a Jew. The typical Jewish heritage began after the exile in Babylon. Joseph was a son of Jacob (Israel), which would therefore make him an Israelite I suppose. But that term generally didn't show up until after Genesis... and so after Joseph.
