I would say no it is not Mac Callum, I am from the clan but I live in Australia. My Grandfather is the Drum Major of Glen Innes Pipe Band and he wears the Mac Callum tartan and what he wears is not that. But I must say excellent playing!!
They should totally make bagpipe hero XD it sounds stupid, but think of how many people would know more about Scottish music! And while I've still got a stupid idea, Riverdance Revolution!!! XD
The Tattoo circa 1967. Ian Morrison was the Piper to Play the Solo at thr top of the castle. Hed didn't play, so Pipe Major, John Alan played from the esplanade!! Morisson was shagging one of the Australian Pipers! LOL. I was a piper with the QOHldrs that evening.
Great Piper! Notice also that he is always surveying the crowd as a soldier would. He is noticing everything while he is piping for those watching. I would bet that if a threat arose the pipes would drop and he would spring into action.
above excellent playing, and a really nice looking uniform ^^ i've always liked the plaid over the shoulder, but the band i'm playing in doesn't have that =<
Where you live? I'm in US, so I spend my afternoons drinking beer and writing poetry.. I went to your channel, man that is some peaceful place.. I got claustrophobia.. Might I interest you in some good old blues, say John Lee Hooker?
No, the foot tapping is fairly typical with solo pipers. Although you won't see it done if the occasion is formal, or in the band circle. If you listen to competition solo pipers recordings, you can hear their foot tapping. I might suggest you have a look at BBC Radio's web site. Look for the program, PIPELINE. there you will hear some of the best pipers in fairly recent competitions and performances. The piper in the video, is quite good, he is the George Watsons College Pipe's Pipe Major.
Thank you, IC, for the great information. Much appreciated, and I'm glad to know this fellow is "pedigreed," in a sense, as I did know he is very talented. Going to check out the BBC site now. Thanks again!
think i can help you here.get an engineers vice,a cat(not your own).place the cat in the vice and turn the handle.for more realism close your eyes, there will be no differance in the sound.
i think most scotch girls will do it for a tin of tennants and a deep fried mars bar.just find a cat and tread on it and a similar noise will be heard
i look pretty good in a skirt but its not something i like to talk about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.i would give you some change for a cuppa but i firmly believe that you would spend the money on tennants lager,or deep fried mars bars.out of respect for your humour i am going to delete the offending comments.
I'm norwegian and bloody proud of it as well. Lol. And to all you scotts out there, i like and respect the people and the culture. But don't forget, it was the wikings that helped you gather the highlands to one country about 1000 years ago... =D
sorry a bit of awind up as i know you dont like been called scotch.i do though think its very tacky around the castle and i think edinboro is overated although lieth is ok although the plague of flats dominate it now

Hullawthere, you seem to know.. is this proper plaid-piper protocol?
reneekronberhaa 2 years ago
I'm no expert but you could run small town from the energy from his feet.
Nice illiteration by the way ;-)
Hullawthere 2 years ago
I thought it fair aliteration, dearie ;)
The feet, that's what I meant. Is foot-tapping typical? Aren't there by-laws or
something to govern these guys? Or is a
maverick piper exempt?
reneekronberhaa 2 years ago
Lets make it alliteration, and thanks for the "dearie" , so quaint.
Dont know if there any lay-byes for pipers, will have a look next time i'm driving round Edinburgh.

However I am looking round the Institute for a cat with a handle on it, wish me luck.
