@Enevan1968 it kinda looks like a blessing for Catholic "Ash Wednesday" (i grew up Cat-lick). from what i remember, the priest is supposed to dip his thumb in ashes and make a cross on your forehead, but most priests seem to get lazy and just smear an ashen blob instead. i could be wrong (and i haven't been to church in almost 20 years), but that's what it looks like. Jaz is very much into the esoteric religious stuff though, so that's my guess.
oh dear oh dear...how comes there still going??? They look like pub rockers...back in the early mid eighties they were the Dod Bollocks...but now....some 20-25 years later....a bit of a Joke......a parody very very sad ....I was their biggest fan too very very sad
@felixcock ...no.....you are right.....I agree to apoint mate...but I think age does not sit well with bands of this genre...lets be honest...music is a young man's game really...thats my only point.....its not just related to K Joke....Anyway...one can play the music and reminisce....take care mate...thx
@khorrumg really? they sound pretty damn good to me, they may be 50 years old, but they sound better then 90% of the groups that are in their 20's and 30's nowdays. still put out some pretty great stuff to
@hellchild65 Yeah I suppose you are right...in part...my only bone of contention is that youth is a transitional period and the band showed so much talent and vigour and produced an amazing array of records....once this has passed bands really survive by playing their back catalogues...In truth I really loved the band...my fave song is Tabazan
@khorrumg yeah that is a sweet song, hell sweet album imo(Night Time). I think their first 5 albums are really underrated. So many artists site them as an influence, yet few people take the time to actually look them up or see what they are like.
idk about them surviving mainly on their old records though, i mean reguardless of what you or I think of the newer stuff from these past 7,8 years, its pretty well made music all in all.
@hellchild65 Yeah...I guess you are right....their early albums, Fire Dances Etc were really good...BUT Night time for me was a stand out record....well produced...each song was hard hitting BOTH sides amazing with great momentum. I loved the band at this stage and went to see them live in London at the Hammersmith Odeon in 87'and they were amazing..Geordie's guitar amazing....and Big Paul's drumming fanatastic.....a band at their peak...Anyways..you take care......and keep listening!!
I only went to this festival to see KJ and although they were on early and only did half an hour they were the fkin highlight and headline for me. Anyone see if there were t shirts for sale - i couldnt see any - i was hoping they were going to selling them out of a suitcase but couldnt find it lol
OK, what's with Jaz's forehead... Did he have a third eye drilled?

@catpee11 : Could well be, but I thought that would be too mundane an explenation when Jaz is involved :-)

@Enevan1968 haha! yeah, it's true...i love Jaz, but "mundane" is something he doesn't usually do.

It's always weird to see Killing Joke playing by day, night time is better for them to give a really good performance...

Great fucking set for such a short one. He was intimidating the crowd, slaves to modernity.
