  • блядь,дык этож немцы,хули вы хотите?

  • I swear he starts the video calling him "van hagens" then ends it with "van hogens"

  • What would you think about your spouse, mother, grandfather, or child being displayed like this ? What would be your immediate gut reaction ? Would you even have a reaction at all ? How about if they were posed in one of this guys copulating corpses poses ? - - -Are your 'thoughts' dependent on what you hear from 'experts' first, or see on t.v. ? - - - Is is a monstrous celebration of the death cult and psychopathic world we live in today.

  • @rob46seattle But the person being posed has to say they want to donate there body first after they die, so i dont see the problem.

  • A great man" the Körperwelten" are very interesting!!!

  • I wouldn't call it art... It's more of an anatomical presentation. Calling it art is in my opinion disrespectful to the intent of the doctor.

  • It is sickness!!!. Never ever human body used for art!!!. Arrest them and kill them.

Use Gunther von Hagens own body for freak art! he's looks like his freaky arts. And his accent's very freaky.

  • @AnfisaSS its art man those people wanted there bodies to be in museums not in graves

  • @HOLIMOUNTV - My uncle & aunt saw one of those exhibits for my aunt's BIRTHDAY in 2008. I think my uncle nearly tossed his lunch. My opinion - It's bizarre, but people can learn from, & take away something educational, from it. So maybe the outrage is unjustified & sightly anachronistic.

  • @HOLIMOUNTV most bodies in that museum didn't really know that they are going to be cut and displayed in the museum.

  • @leonidusgotbrains1- Good thing they're dead, and their consciousnesses no longer exist, so they couldn't care even if they would have otherwise.

  • @AnfisaSS Sure you may not like it, but learn to be open minded. There's more to those bodies than 'art'. "And his accent's very freaky." REALLY NOW?

  • Ed Gein did the same thing.

  • Interesting presentation - plastination is actually incredibly useful for those of us studying medicine etc. A plastinated body or body part is completely different to handle when compared to its embalmed equivalent - both combined allow us a more thorough and nuanced learning experience, that hopefully will result in us being better doctors and looking after all of you, should you need us!

  • "...organs, tissues, and bones" - organs and bones *are* tissues.

  • genius

  • the pictures are a little out of sync with the audio, besides that, great presentation.

  • @SCHRUBBE1966 haha, those are testicles, not extra penises you fool!

  • this Gunther is a Monster ..he should get a life-time prison

  • Gunter doktor Hagen fon, napravi mi jedan klon da me menja kad sam smor,da ja idem na bankete, a on da mi ljulja dete, napravi mi jedan klon, Gunter doktor Hagen fon.

  • Hagen Fon. Hagen Fon, mrtaf covek zifi on, mesto mosak loptu mete, preparira mrtfo dete

  • Gunther von Satana - Mengele!!!

  • this was a really nice presentation! :)

  • i saw this, how is this art, its just making people plastic, and were does he get the bodies from? oh and yea the exibit has too many penises

  • Fantastico! Todo mi respeto y admiracion, a quien dio un giro a la preservacion de la anatomia humana, tanto para estudio como para su observacion.

  • this is kind of psychotic hagens is a wack job lol

  • i saw this when it came to denver, it's so much different looking at it in person. i just couldn't grasp the fact that i was looking at the bodies of real people, incredible. i would call him an artist, he is basically taking leonardo's drawings of the human anatomy and making them come to life in a way no one else has.

  • blacks-nuff said

  • AMAZING! COMPLETELY FASCINATING!

  • omg you fuckers out there.you hate germans?

so why you idiots watch or use german stuff any day.

    fuck you bastards.

ohhh and dont forget to call me nazi now.

    idiots

  • anyone who's grossed out by this shit is a big fat pussy

  • @aisforastronaut anyone who thinks this is art needs there head examined

  • Germans - nuff said...

  • poland.....nuff said.

  • I went to this, and found it fasinating. The group playing cards was brilliant. We are, after all, skin, bones and flesh, so those who think its sick while eating a chichen leg can think twice.

  • Awsome presentation!

  • fuck! this is sick!

  • fuck this shit, fuck body worlds

  • This is SCIENCE! NO MATTER WHAT!

    Es lebt Günther!

  • sorry its Es lebE Günther instead of es lebt. but i agree very much with you

  • you are ALL cRaZY

  • Good Video

  • i think this is extaordinary and very interesting these people are alive again, good for them...

  • @linkmaster0008

They are not ALIVE AGAIN, they are dead. they are forever dead and instead of their body resting in peace they are on display for simpletons to goggle and stare at.

  • what a fucking maniac

  • damn germans

  • Michael Jackson will be the next...

  • i hope so

  • Nice presentation, but I don't find his own words to be contradictory at all. It's not art, because his work has a function, to educate and therefore it can't be art because it has another purpose than itself, but... it is presented in an artistic manner with references to existing art works as you showed very well in the video. We need more people like this man, it's the only way we'll move out of these fanatical-dark-ages of religion and elevate our mammal self through science and knowledge.

  • I would have preferred this same stuff to be done with wax or plastic instead of real corpses. Wax would have been indistinguishable. It isn't particularly shocking, but it is quite tasteless and vulgar to use human meat in such a way. The body is sacred, not to be whored for profit. If you think the exhibit is ethically sound, ask yourself this" If you or your loved one died while pregnant, would you want her sliced apart and put in an exhibit?

  • if you ask yourself his question, remember that you are being greedy and attempting to make decisions for those who are perfectly capable of making them themselves. Basically, this woman signed a release form dedicating her complete body to this exhibit. it was her choice and no one should EVER tell her that what she chose to do with her "sacred" form is wrong.

by all means, choose to stay ignorant of the natural world and its mystifying components, but do intend to hold others back with you.

  • Actually "signed a release"may not be necessarily a case, since von Hagens was involved with "lost corpses in Sebiria" case. Many bodies are prisoner's that not likely were signiing any papers. He has been accused in using bodies ILLEGALLY from prisons, psychiatric institutions and hospitals in Kyrgyzstan, some without prior notification of the families. I myself have been in excibition and seen tatoos that were specific to russian prisoners...

  • Spot on, would you ask the person that won lotto & put her name in the paper to give you some of the wining's, of course you would. so if i had the money i would have told my dad about this issue & i asure you he would have done it, but made sure that he details & his medical condition to be evaluated from his DNA to blood sample & put as a reminder of what smoking & other issues effect the body, maybe then more people would stop some of the medical problems

  • this is fantastic, i am currently studing and refrerancing gunther von hagens :D i love his work it stimulates a morbid curiousty i think everyone has, but some people are scared or unsure wether thy want to see the truth of what beign human is all about. Great work! :D

  • these beings gave their consent to be plastinated, so that makes it ok by me. i find it fasinating to see parts of our body exposed in this way, otherwise how would we know how we are realy made up.

  • i know ethnical its ok with me, but it still makes me sick!

  • I love his work, absolutly fantastic!

  • =) loved the vid! nice compilation

  • Better plastinated than 6 feet under.

  • Why? What is the difference?

  • Unless you decide to be cremated, it makes more sense to me that a dead body is used for science instead of being buried.

  • Shocked? Disgusting? even MORE disgusting is the way you make an opinion about this great and scientific work.

I am sure more than one person would like to cremate you but ALIVE!!!

  • scientific!!!????? FUCK his father was the ANGEL OF DEATH of AUSHWITZ!!!!!INFORM!!what's the difference??

  • the most important thing is the soul, and i think it´s not getting hurt by doing this ..

  • i agree martchenjolie ... i would've been somewhat more understanding if Tomasz99Pol said "these HUMANS deserve peace" but he said "the human body deserves peace"... and the human body is just a physical form.

sure the body once belonged to a person and that person was alive. but in death, there's nothing left to animate it! personally i find it beautiful that these bodies are being used artistically...and the pregnant woman, i found, was really quite elegant..

  • You're standing in the way of scientific advancement, and you will be left behind by it

  • ofc we are animals but that doesn't meen that we can't express feelings or show others with other boddies, it's a fantastic idea to show filosophic statements with our own boddy, there are no rules that you must be alive to continue your story.

i'm shocked by you thinking like someone living in the 13th century.

  • Good work!

  • Very good presentation! I've always been fascinated by Gunther's work.

  • Great video, congrats!

Just one remark: The Thinker - The Facial nerve is not a branch of the Trigeminal nerve (as you wrote by the picture).

    Cheers!

  • this is kind of sick :-o

  • Gunther Von Hagnes est treesss intelligent! Je suis tout a fais d'accord avec toi!

  • I went to se Bodyworlds in Manchester just to see how sick it was as many people seem to view it as so . Gunter Von Hagens is awesome as was the exhibition Not sick in any way Very informative and educational and respective to the plastinates

  • Bodyworlds Edmonton!

    it was awesome

  • with whole respect but Allah Yahidik!

  • this is totale great !!! a++++++ omg!

  • Great video! Thanks for posting!

  • thank you. Beautifully expressed and detailed analysis of some truly significant work of both art and anatomy.

  • lmfao, so true, he looks like thge crazy odctor from True Lies. I think he might be a necrophiliac or an insane doctor, but there is no denying that his work is amazing.

  • I agree with that

  • I went to Body World 3 in Denver. It was AWESOME!

  • Now I'm really looking foward to going to Body Worlds 4!

  • It's a great Video, but the way you pronounce his name is terrible for a german person x)

  • this is beautiful, brilliant piece of work, I accredit von hagen

  • Ghunter is a good guy, who contributes so much to the medical field., he deserves the highest award in medicine.

  • Gunther von Hagens is a genious an artist and an incredible anatomist. Fuck those bodies they were nobodies only animals they entertain and educate us and that's the most important thing i do not want shitty replicas we see in our books, museums and universities we want the real deal! von Hagens is god.

  • Wow. Now... I really do like Gunther and appreciate his doing this, but these people are not "nobodies." One in fact was Gunther's good friend who requested he be put into the exhibit after he died. Don't insult what makes up his art. You wouldn't call an artist's paints crap either.

  • I do think it fine his method o preservation, however, as an art display, well, you have to wait atleast 1000 years for that to work.

  • the thinker : leaving only bones and arteries?

    you forgot the veins,genius

  • Ha! thankyou. I'm sure there are plenty of other mistakes in there as well.

  • sorry for being agressive in my remark for your video,I think I had a little to drink when i wrote that.Great vid noneoftheless.

  • pure GENIUS. To see that exhibition i must leave my stupid country Poland at first.

  • lol. I like your humor. Usually people on Youtube are defensive about their nationality. You're an awesome person for saying your country is stupid. People need to lighten up like you. cheers.

  • Cause it's true.Saying that i mean "Medieval-minded crowd" (included government) ,is not about country as landscape but crowd. G.V. Hagens was banished by seniority in local village. The only art is art in their kind of morality. For example:Zbigniew Libera also was banned 10 years ago.

  • Gunther can never document all the bodies he plastinated.,he says it came from China, some war victims, some voluntary., you never know that body you are looking at is your missing relative or neighbor.,Gubther is a godamn hi-tech serial killer!

  • The common denominator of every serial killers dream is to be in a "RESPECTABLE, POWERFUL POSITION IN THE SOCIETY" while they aredoing their killing spree, for me Gunhter is a serial killer,.do not tell me that all those dead bodies he plastinated are documented?voluntary?.don't give me that bullshit.

  • No, some of them were simple cadavers which he bought lawfully. You know, those things they cut up in medical schools all the time?

  • 1st of all Gunther is not hiding a BALD spot in his head, i saw him at Nat.Geo he has a headfull of hair.,he does not remove his hat?,maybe that's his style.,looking like a living dead mafiosi.

  • This person Gunther von Hagens is just PURE EVIL, he is the territorial Sales Representative of Lucifer, a true artist from HELL.,THIS IS JUST A HIGHLY MODIFIED VERSION of JEFFRY DAHMERS interest in HUMAN ANATOMY.

  • The pictures and sound where off a bit.Not too bad.Thank you.

  • This guys a sicko. Is he even a doctor

  • yes

  • Why doesn`t Gunther von Hagens remove his beautiful black hat?

  • He does have a nice hat!

  • Remarkable research you've done there! I congratulate you! I've just seen an exposition from Von Hagens in Montreal. It makes me more aware of my health, my body. To be attentive to the operation of the conscience is essential if one wants a life intelligent and intense. It's a great occasion we have here to realize more about life itself!

  • Here you can have a look at Plastination's next step: anatomic exposure on the living!

    /watch?v=73ddArFLWk0

  • Well done on the presentation, i am very interested in Dr. Gunter Von Hagen's work and i first viewed this his show "Anatomy for beginners". Your presentation was well spoked and i really enjoyed it, although he might not be considered an artist, he uses the bodies on his television show to give people a higher understanding of the human body.

  • He has a nice hat.

  • This is the guy that referred to himself as the next Leonardo daVinci -.- That really ticks me off, lol. No one, no matter how good they are with their art, should compare themselves to any other artist (especially not daVinci >:O).

And then you've got the people who need to find meaning in everything an artist does (the narator, for instance...no offense). "This piece represents her macabre hatred of grapefruits..."

  • i have a feeling you wouldnt know art if it burned your house down

  • I certainly agree. If art burned my house down, I'd be all like "Hey jerk! Why did you burn my house down?". Then he'd be all like "Its cool dude, I'm art!".

But seriously, it wasn't cool. Even art shouldn't go around burning peoples houses down. I mean, WTF art! I let you borrow my car that time I went to Boston for the weekend. This is how you repay my kindness?

  • No offense, I understand what your saying. But isn't a very large part of art how it is interpreted?

My interpretations are unqualified for sure, I make no pretense to be an art critic.

But I find it very difficult to believe that whoever adjusted the body into position did not try to convey some sort of emotion or concept.

  • i was responding to isilfea's comments, not to the art in general. i love this shit i think its great. isilfea would not know art if it burned his/her house down

  • No, I understand totally. I was responding to the idea of that bastard art burning down my house :)

  • Wrong. He earned a medical doctorate in 1975 from the University of Heidelberg, where he taught in the Institutes of Anatomy and Pathology for 20 years. So he is a professor.

  • This guy rules. if you don't like what he does then what are you doing watching ? your opinions do not constitute the absolute truth on anything so keep it to yourself and accept that some people are different than you.. you fucking nazis.

  • i dont believe that it should be considered art, BUT i think that von Hagen has allowed people to understand how the body actually functions by giving telelvised and very visual learning, i learnt alot from his exhibition that i went to as well as his t.v programmes.

  • this is morbide.people who say it is science or art are just looking for ways to justify their perverse interests.i know ,cause i know how it feels .many are dead chinese people who are taken from the streets where they died.this is SO WRONG !

  • That is not true.

  • you do have a point. the bodies should have been donated by the individuals.

  • They were.

  • They were..

  • All of his bodies are donors. Mostly from Europe.

  • how do you know?

  • everybody knows, imma see the excposition next tuesday :s

  • You know, I've been to China many times, and I've visited countrysides and villages in China. I have never seen dead Chinese on the streets whose bodies could just be picked up by random passerbys.

  • I'd donate my body to this cause.

  • You present his works like they're pieces of art. It's a great presentation on what Von Hagen does. I personally think there is some merit in his work, however, I think his passion and obsession with this is definitely out there.

  • This is not sick. It is showing people a view of the human body that has never been seen before.

  • Yes !

    But somethimes its sick :P

  • Fascinating. Great job. If you don't like it, no one's forcing you to look at it!

  • I bet nobody forced that baby to be skinned and plastified either! What an asshole!

  • how do you ask a dead infant anything???

  • I'm curious why Dr. Von Hagen never removes his "trademark" black fedora? Perhaps... he is merely a vessel. Perhaps underneath that hat of his sits the re-animated brain of Hitler and a mess of tubes, wires, and various nanoprocessors.

  • Whilst I have a great fascination 4 his work(see other comment)I'm going to go with some base emotion here & say in some ways Dr.VH creeps me out. With his black fedora, slightly odd manner & rather cold eyes,he's a strange sight. He'd argue,of course that he loves life, but he strikes me as some one who loves death rather more.More than 1 reporter has spoken of their ill-ease when he has suggested to them how he'd pose their corpse.

  • I fully plan to go to Bodyworlds 3 in Vancouver when I get the time to fully appriciate it. While von Hagens is correct to say that he himself is not an artist, since the body is a glorious creation of the natural world, his creative inginuety allows us to view ourselves in a way we could only imagine before.

  • Benleclair... you have put together a fabulous comprehensive expository of von Hagen's work. I have had the good fortune to be able to attend 2 of the Body Worlds exhibitions (with my family) and have yet to cease being amazed at the wonderous manner in which we are made. Von Hagens (and you) do a wonderful service to human understanding. Were I not an organ donor I would certainly direct what remains of me after death to be used for this.

  • If he was a doctor or in the medical field it would all be different...He's an artist for God sake! He tries to cover his madness by medical assistants...I've seen doctors use a knife and he is no doctor, simply an artist using human blood for paint and skin for his canvas...pretty sick.

  • Actually, he is a doctor.

  • He *is* a doctor in the medical field. He earned a medical doctorate in 1975 from the University of Heidelberg.

  • This approach does tend to lend itself just a bit "Creepie", if you will. However, as long as the intent is sincerely a more pronounced investagating and researching for bettering human life and consequently, the conquering of human disease. Intelligence defining the varied paths of learning, then it does bare merit, medically speaking. It comes across as a 'judgement call' on behalf of humanity in my view.

  • Very interesting and educational. Everyone reserves the right to be educated and if this is something that bothers or disturbs then you should not view this and make sure that you stay away from any headings with Gunther von Hagen in it. You are intitled to your opinion, but so is everyone else. We must all agree to disagree.

  • At last "excretiants" can be modelled, made fly-proof and enjoyed and put on exhibition. Yes; all the textures and colours of excretia have artistic worth of deep inspiration and should be at last given its true ratings in the world of art and beauty and put on its rightful plinth. What wonderful emancipation of art we are witnessing in the hands of the man with the imposing black hat! This delicious and delicate art could ONLY come out of the sophistication of Germany.

  • Anyone else knowtes the sound and video are out of sync?

  • Yeah, they were in sync when I made the video, but when I uploaded it, Youtube scrambled it. I will try to fix it, although I'm sure if I can keep the same listing.

  • How RIGHT you are! ... Just indicates how many morbid insensitive ghouls are around everywhere, on every street corner. Just turn on your TV to see what everyone is being fed with and enjoying. THEN people are wondering why this beautiful planet is on its last legs!

  • Last legs because of TV and anatomists? Has it nothing to do excessive C02 emissed by selfish western cultures, brutal dictators in the third and developed world oppressing freedoms, the complete imbalance of global wealth, religious fundamentalism, and the myriad of other INCREDIBLY SERIOUS issues? Nope, the world is on "it's last legs" because people watch stupid TV and anatomists plastinate bodies VOLUNTEERED to science. Gunther has a long list of people willing to donate their bodies.

  • We don't know that they were VOLUNTEERED to science. They maybe the bodies of Chinese dissidents. Hey, buy why should you care it' EDUTAINMENT!

  • I, and I doubt anyone else, is interested in this because it is morbid or I am particularly insensitive. I think the human body is an incredibly complex and beautiful thing. The mechanical and visual intricacies found inside the human body are amazing and beautiful, and I find it offensive that you suggest we shouldn't appreciate and celebrate them.

  • creepy. The thinker. Wow. that one is crazy.

  • Who said they donate them?

  • Well done. I just attended the Bodyworlds 3 in Vancouver this week. It was amazing, and very educational.

  • Thank you for sharing this presentation. I had the opportunity to view the Body Worlds exhibit this past Wednesday in St. Paul, MN. I am utterly fascinated by both the scientific and artistic aspects. Because of Gunther von Hagen, normal people are able to view and realize the mortality of our existence. Great job on the presentation, by the way. Thanks again!

  • This was truely a great presentation! I'm a medical student and am familiar with von Hagens' work. You've done a great job.

  • That really means alot to me, thankyou!

  • i agree

  • Is it not also disrespectful to take our loved ones and bury them in the ground or to burn them is much the same way we do with household rubbish? Those donating their bodies know what will happen to them. It is their choice. In the same way we have the choice to view them or not.

  • intresting. good presentation

  • Thank you so much, thats very kind!
