  • 1 person has never left his or her home country

  • Lovely, jingly Joe Meek track, Expertly recorded and played as you would expect from 304. Always great to listen to again and again. Keep 'em coming!

  • Excellent... it brings back school time memories.

  • Everyone remembers Telstar but this is pretty good too! Weren't the 60's great?!!

  • Kinda makes me wonder how "Time Is Tight" (Booker T. & The M.G.s) would sound with a Clavioline, instead of a Hammond B3. I've heard "Telstar" done the opposite way, and including one version with a Hammond X77, so my idea would most likely work.

  • j'étais très jeune (ans environ) et mon frère écoutait tous leurs tubes quand il rentrait en permission

  • Classic stuff. Please also check out a brilliant version of TELSTAR. TELSTAR by THE DUELLING PIANOS. Excellent video... new arrangement

  • my venus in blue jeans ????

  • is that roger lavern playing it. he had simply musical skill could listen this type of music all day.

  • venus in blue jeans is just what I thought when I heard it for the first time on the radio in 1962 when I was 9 yo .....

  • Venus in Blue Jeans

  • a true classic joe meek could do it even though things whent wrong he made great tunes

  • 'Love and Fury' still my favourite.

  • Grew up with the Tornados magic, still amazing listening to them to-day.

  • A fav of Mrs Thatcher I believe.

  • @TheDavidjoy Don't mention the harpe's name please.

  • @thingthing94 No i got it wrong, it was telstar her fav. You weren't a fan of her then?

I have given up on politics completely now, they are all the raving loonies.

  • @TheDavidjoy yes and telstar

  • Pure sixties, utter magic. Thankfully the music is still with us, not much else though.

I had all the tornadoes records at one stage. Brilliant.

  • better than telstar???

  • @WOODBINEXX That's a bit like comparing a good wine to a good coffee, they're both classics

  • Das ist so ein genialer Titel - einfach toll zum träumen.

In Deutschland hatte den "Sender Rosemarie" lange als Kennmelodie. *träum*

  • Im not black or latin, not even chinese or russian, but ive got the original single of this, its almost worn out

  • brilliant takes me back to when i was 15, im 60 now

  • same here but im not black...im latin

  • I've always loved this track. I remember my family taking me to a huge fun fair inside Olympia over the Christmas holiday back in 1962 and me being so impressed with the fairground and this track was playing. It must have only just been released because it was a hit in January 1963. They even had a big wheel inside. After that we went to a Christmas circus which was right next to the fair. Great memories, thank you for posting this track.

  • fantastic !!!!!

  • hi clem and to all on you tube ,i love this track , great sound ...thanks

  • no Although Joes tune Globetrotter sounds in part like "Venus In Blue Jeans" Joe wrote a year before a demo exists of the composition Joe realised it sounded similar but stood by his conviction, loads of tunes sound like others

  • Marklennon well said!!! A waiter in our club dropped a tray of drinks and it sounded like Cheryl Cole!

  • Just this one song with no lyrics is better than any song today, by any group! better than girls aloud and all that x factor shite!!!!!!!!

  • I'm pretty sure there used to be a Globetrotter video on YouTube with 10,000s of views, I wonder what happened to it.

Thanks for posting this one, very good.

  • Listen to that Clavioline sing- simply magical!

  • Thanks for this. Another awesome sound from the awesome Tornados. This is the ring tune on my mobile phone.

  • Andrew oldham was a promo man he didnt want to plug joe meeks latest record a vocal version of telstar he was plugging a version of venus in blue jeans so joe meek made this venus in blue jeans sounding instrumenal record to spite him .

  • A demo of "Globetrotter" exists which pre-dates "Venus in blue jeans" proving which one came first.

  • @Telstar10000 Which venus in blue jeans the american or british?

  • I always thought it sounded like venus in blue jeans. I remember saying to my sister back in 1963, "Is that what it's called" and she said "no it's not" LOL Thanks for that bit of info.

  • @MrNaughtyflirt I understand the Tornados themselves referred to it as "Telstar in Blue Jeans"...

  • @Oscar301 So in a way I was right back in 1963, when I was only seven. Thanks for that Oscar :-)

  • I seem to remember hearing this as a one year old baby in 63.

  • It was quite popular, maybe you heard when you were a little older? Of course, you may be right! :-)

  • The Tornados are amazing! I'm 22 and I'll take them over today's rap anyday =)

  • Although I agree, "today's rap" is good sometimes. Pete Philly is awesome, for example

  • I'm black, 16 and make electronic music and some times rap but I love The Tornados and so do some of my friends, cant beat amazeing music.

  • @Gmancrap If I was you I would be very ashamed about how black music has gone

  • Not really, Raciest. Because mainstream music has always been shit.

  • @Gmancrap

what does it matter what color you are?

if you come out and say that then you think this msic for some other colcor?

  • You spelled "color" wrong.

  • @Gmancrap

yea i see that but did spell it right 1st time so you half right LMAO

  • Cool.

  • @Gmancrap Color and Colour are both correct.

  • Yes, if you live in the UK. theaznlvr lives in the United States and therefore spelled the word wrong.
