Joe Rogan has never openly said he advoacates the things you say he advocates. He often adresses conspiracy theories and esoteric ideas on his show because he is a comedian and they are interesting. He never said he believes them. The closest he has come to "promoting" them is saying that you can't just throw something out because it is bizzare or not mainstream. He does take illegal drugs and entertain wild ideas but is the first to admit his ignorance. Don't misrepresent him.

There is one issue that can be considered a matter of pseudoscience against PETA, but this video doesn't address it. The P&T link does, but only 12 minutes into a 15 video: the effectiveness of animal research. The argument can go either way, pro and con, but as PETA and P&T put it, both presented a biased view, but both have cases to be made. Address that, and we're talking pseudoscience .

Indeed, I've seen them twist quotes and fight straw men of their opponent's arguments. For example, they once targeted recycling by showing that the process uses more energy than production from raw resources; however, the argument in favor of recycling is not that it saves electricity, but that it saves raw resources, which it does. That's just one example.

They don't claim it does cause cancer, but cite American Dietetic Association for the claim that "lower overall cancer rates", among other diseases. He wrote of some simple rules you can follow to determine if something can be considered scientific. He calls it the "Baloney Detection Kit". I know admittedly very little of PETA except that Skeptoid had done a podcast on their involvement in psuedoscience. From what I understand, it involved what PETA considers "harming an animal." For example they believe that milking a cow hurts the cow and that simply is not true. There are other examples about bees making honey and lobsters in tanks that I have heard about as well. So yes, part of their philosophy seems to involve some psuedoscience
@zabukazar - strictly speaking if you utilise an animal for anything then you are using them as a slave so that you can have what under normal conditions they are producing for their own selves.
By way of example - if aliens got human women pregnant so they would lactate, so the aliens could drink the milk, and they just ate the fetus or newborn too, or grew them separate from their mothers then ate them later, then you might consider that to not be symbiotic mightn't you.
@zabukazar - and I am veggie but not vegan, so I do consume some animal products. I don't like that I cannot source them from proper no-killing farms, as there should be vegetarian & ethical farms, that don't kill the animals or separate them from their families etc.

@zabukazar - I'm not sure what you read from PETA, but keeping animals enclosed - like in tanks - is very harmful indeed. And with honey production - there was even a famous animated movie recently that pointed out some of the abuse in that. One thing that they do that is not always ok, it depends what is burned and the effect it has, is smoking the hives. Another one that is not ok is feeding bees artificial sugars or clipping the queens wings.
@DracOverLordHaton smoking the beehives momentarily disconcerts the bees and it takes them a little while to go back to their activities. that is why beekeepers typically will not enter a hive more often then on a weekly basis. there are no long term negative effects or they would not do it as it would cost them money replacing the bees. i know this because i used to be a beekeeper myself until my bees were infested with small hive beetle while i was on holiday

@DracOverLordHaton i do not know anyone who feeds bees artificial sugars. bees are fed white sugar if they need supplementary feeding to build them up for the summer months or ward off starvation in winter. if you feed them a less processed form of sugar, such as brown sugar, its actually bad for them and they get dysentery from it which can cause disease.
finally clipping queens wings is bad for business because studies have shown it negatively impacts the hive.

All you can see is the all too familiar crest in the main collumn, followed by a collapse as in a classic demolition. Second of all, the officials changed the story to the fact that they did bring it down due to the extreme damage that the building had suffered, which again had no itention of the need to collapse it from the footage.

After the collapse of the towers nearly the entire south side was greatly damaged with massive amounts of black smoke pouring out of it. You have to research more than just conspiracy sites though. They don't show such footage for obvious reasons. No officials said that the building was brought down by explosives at all. That is just made up BS like the rest.

@sirLEVITSKY My opinion of creationism is based on attending school and actually paying attention to reality. I've also read a few different versions of the bible, including an OT claiming to be directly translated from Hebrew, and part of the Quran. I've attended several different denominations of Christian sermons, and discussed Ramadan with some Islamic friends in detail. Few of them are stupid enough, or fooled enough, to beleive creationism, but they are still religious.

@sirLEVITSKY I was trying to point out the difference. Einstein believed it was likely that there is intellegent creator(s). Creationists state that it is an indisputable fact. There are many intellectuals that have well versed reasons for belief in supernatural, but few would conclude it as fact.
I know PETA can be annoying at times but classifying them as in league with terrorists is extreme IMO. Some of the groups considered "terrorist" by the US government are not considered so by other governments and NGOs around the world. The US government considers the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory by the Israeli government legitimate while every other country in the world (except maybe Georgia) denounces it.
Jim Inhofe isn't a guy I'd look to for advice on what's legitimate.
The PETA stuff is kinda strange, ok I get it, they financially support some groups called terrorists, I do too, not animal right groups though, but several legitimate Palestinian aid organizations are classed as terrorists in the EU and USA.

Indeed, I've seen them twist quotes and fight straw men of their opponent's arguments. For example, they once targeted recycling by showing that the process uses more energy than production from raw resources; however, the argument in favor of recycling is not that it saves electricity, but that it saves raw resources, which it does. That's just one example.

They don't claim it does cause cancer, but cite American Dietetic Association for the claim that "lower overall cancer rates", among other diseases. He wrote of some simple rules you can follow to determine if something can be considered scientific. He calls it the "Baloney Detection Kit". The allegations against Joe Rogan are simply false. Yes, he talks the shit out of some conspiracy theories, but that's because he's a COMEDIAN and they are INTERESTING. Sure, he may not be well educated, but especially if you listen to his podcast, you can see that easily 90% of the time he's discussing something speculative, he is quite honest about the fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about. One of the most common phrases he says is "I'm probably making this up." Not pseudoscience.

I know admittedly very little of PETA except that Skeptoid had done a podcast on their involvement in psuedoscience. From what I understand, it involved what PETA considers "harming an animal." For example they believe that milking a cow hurts the cow and that simply is not true. There are other examples about bees making honey and lobsters in tanks that I have heard about as well. So yes, part of their philosophy seems to involve some psuedoscience

@zabukazar - strictly speaking if you utilise an animal for anything then you are using them as a slave so that you can have what under normal conditions they are producing for their own selves.
By way of example - if aliens got human women pregnant so they would lactate, so the aliens could drink the milk, and they just ate the fetus or newborn too, or grew them separate from their mothers then ate them later, then you might consider that to not be symbiotic mightn't you.

@zabukazar - and I am veggie but not vegan, so I do consume some animal products. I don't like that I cannot source them from proper no-killing farms, as there should be vegetarian & ethical farms, that don't kill the animals or separate them from their families etc.
At the same time, I can see why people would want to remove themselves entirely from relying on any animal produce, and I'd support anyone fully in that regard. One reason I'm a member of VON (vegan organics).

@zabukazar - I'm not sure what you read from PETA, but keeping animals enclosed - like in tanks - is very harmful indeed. And with honey production - there was even a famous animated movie recently that pointed out some of the abuse in that. One thing that they do that is not always ok, it depends what is burned and the effect it has, is smoking the hives. Another one that is not ok is feeding bees artificial sugars or clipping the queens wings.

@DracOverLordHaton smoking the beehives momentarily disconcerts the bees and it takes them a little while to go back to their activities. that is why beekeepers typically will not enter a hive more often then on a weekly basis. there are no long term negative effects or they would not do it as it would cost them money replacing the bees. i know this because i used to be a beekeeper myself until my bees were infested with small hive beetle while i was on holiday

Because in the wild they aren't kept in angled boxes, fed sugars they'd never eat by choice, or smoked with poisonous chemicals. And idiots don't close the lids on bees and kill or maim them. @DracOverLordHaton i do not know anyone who feeds bees artificial sugars. bees are fed white sugar if they need supplementary feeding to build them up for the summer months or ward off starvation in winter. if you feed them a less processed form of sugar, such as brown sugar, its actually bad for them and they get dysentery from it which can cause disease.
finally clipping queens wings is bad for business because studies have shown it negatively impacts the hive.

One of the towers debris hit WTC7 tearing almost the entire side of the building down and transfering/starting fire on most of its floors, it then burned and collapsed. Who knows? maybe CIA allowed terrorists to do it , etc. but most of the 911 truther conspiracies are easily debunked and then they just change the subject. Just like creationists.

@Redbeardian Very hardly debunked actually. There was footage of WTC7 and there was no indication of an intense fire, or debree hitting it. All you can see is the all too familiar crest in the main collumn, followed by a collapse as in a classic demolition. Second of all, the officials changed the story to the fact that they did bring it down due to the extreme damage that the building had suffered, which again had no itention of the need to collapse it from the footage.

After the collapse of the towers nearly the entire south side was greatly damaged with massive amounts of black smoke pouring out of it. The footage is not in 911 truther videos of course but if you cared to look elsewhere it is plentiful.

And even if there was fire, it definetly wasn't strong enough to not have a choice and bring it down. You have to research more than just conspiracy sites though. They don't show such footage for obvious reasons. No officials said that the building was brought down by explosives at all. That is just made up BS like the rest.

I've also read a few different versions of the bible, including an OT claiming to be directly translated from Hebrew, and part of the Quran. I've attended several different denominations of Christian sermons, and discussed Ramadan with some Islamic friends in detail. Few of them are stupid enough, or fooled enough, to beleive creationism, but they are still religious.

If you wan't some very interesting arguments for the existance of God may I suggest a book called "The Question of God: C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud Debate God, Love, Sex, and the Meaning of Life " by Armand Nicholi. You shouldn't make a case for atheism without at least moderately studying the side you so arrogantly oppose.

I know PETA can be annoying at times but classifying them as in league with terrorists is extreme IMO. Some of the groups considered "terrorist" by the US government are not considered so by other governments and NGOs around the world. The US government considers the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory by the Israeli government legitimate while every other country in the world (except maybe Georgia) denounces it.
Jim Inhofe isn't a guy I'd look to for advice on what's legitimate.
