@scorpiofreak15 No, soft pastel pencils for the basic tonesand "sealed" with water colors and opaque white for the sequins.

@1998ninni a blending stump, which you can either make (google has some sites on how to make one) or you can buy them at any art supply store. I got mine at Michaels.

what pencils would ou recommend for a portfolio

@TyPringe01 I recommend to use pro (artist) grade media for a portfolio, cause in my oppinion a portfolio should be of good quality. High quality pencils are Academy/ Studio/ Artists Colored Pencils by Derwent, Polychromos by Faber Castell, Caran d'Ache Pablo Colored Pencils, Prismacolor Colored Pencils as well as the Verithin Pencils, among other brands. Reserach for their characteristics, cause some of them are more waxy/ oily then others. Look which brand will suits you best.
