Nice video. And, for those of you from colder climates, yes, it is wonderful there in December! The trip out to the Channel Isles is still worth it even if you don't see any whales.
SB is really nice - a great day trip up the coast from L.A. The thing to do from there is take the boat out to the Channel Islands National Park.
The area is also a celebrity magnet - Bill Clinton used to stay at friends down the road in Summerland during his presidency, and Oprah Winfrey has an estate next door in Montecito which almost burned down during the fires a few months ago. The Reagans were also long-time SB residents after they bought 'Rancho del Cielo' in 1974.
It is a great place! I did not go out to the Islands but it occurred to me that if I stayed there for any length of time (which is possible) I would volunteer for wildlife protection work there (I am not just interested in history!) Part of the reason I did not go is because the whales have a holiday in December and January so they are not there then! I am really looking forward to going back!
I'm sure I'll never go to Santa Barbara, so your take is appreciated. I love to have your video running on one half of my computer screen then I follow you on google map on the other half... e-trips!
i was just there! it's so beautiful!
