You can't blame Collins for whatever has happened, Genesis went into a pop band, but on the other hand Gabriel spent/spends his days in a successful solo career (Solsbury Hill is one of my all time favourites). IMO Genesis were never as good as with Gabriel, but 'm pretty damn sure that some people never liked prog and always prefered pop...nevertheless Phil was an extraordinary drummer and this album is simply stunning! Prog yes, but not so much rock, a strange fusion of styles that also takes classical to opera in the beat. It seems sometimes so strange when you look at it now. So much is going on there...
@markusmala The genre is called "Prog Rock". IT IS a form of rock. Like if "Pure" Rock (whatever that is for you) didn't take from other styles of music (jazz, blues, folk, etc, etc, etc)
@vivelavidarocka You are right and I love Genesis, but the captivating is also to discuss it cause we can. I believe the brand Prog-Rock was not exactly accurate and taken by the media like it is for so long and most of everyone agreed, Other bands were sounding more Rock than them, I found that Progressiv "music" seemed much better and open for their diversity like richness, and I came to like them first because of the soft acoustic sound like the progessions they were the only one to play.

"I am in the English Channel. It is cold, exceedingly wet. I am the voice of Britain before the Daily Express. My name is Britannia. This is my song. It's called: Dancing With the Moonlit Knight".
Genesis is/was 2 very different and distinct sounding bands:one fronted by Collins who has the better voice and one by Gabriel who had the vision, both of which are far superior to anything out there now, I mean really for all intents and purposes ROCK IS DEAD! ;o)
Yeah! TLLDOB with the Cohen Bros. or Chris Nolan directing (Third choice David Lynch.., maybe too dark!) Or perhaps William Friedkin, if he doesn't pass away first, since he is a die hard Genesis fan from those years.
Christian Bale as Rael.
Yes, that would be cool, but knowing Phil, I wouldn't be surprise if they only create a musical, and a cheesy one, Which I wouldn't be into at all.
Alright man. I think I've been hangin' out too much in this video. Have a great week.
@TheDennyAblack Collins was awful. Saw Genesis with Gabriel (and the excellent revival bunch the Musical Box) and wouldn't abuse my eyes by watching Collins Genesis.
TBF to Collins, he often said he'd happily go back to drums if Gabriel came back.
God almighty he looks different now, Gabriel ! As do I.....(Ive still got my hair, and light brown colour. He has none)

Genesis was never "led" by Peter or Phil. They didn't change because Phil wanted to do pop!
They'd been doing the prog thing for a decade and they wanted to try new things. I don't think they thought "hey let's make pop now", it was just the way it turned out. Tony has probably always had the most influence, even though he stress that they all have equal parts in it. So when he wanted to do more poppy music, they did. He didn't know they'd be so successful! He just made the music he wanted to.
Phil is still good friends with Peter Gabriel. Not many know this, but Gabriel provided backup vocals with Sting for Phil Collins' most succesful solo album, No Jacket Required.
But, in my humble opinion, the best Genesis lineup is as they have been for many years: Phil, Tony, Mike, Daryl and Chester - easily the best live act I've ever seen.
Phil Collins is a brilliant, brilliant drummer, songwriter, singer and musician in general.
nice to know that they still remain friends .. however, in my personal opinion .. Peter as the front man 1967 - 1975 their best ever years .. Peter is a true artist .. I saw them 3x's in the early to mid 70's .. Peter & the band blew my socks OFF, they were unreal !! not a fan of the direction Phil took them in, POP :(
Yeah just watch "genesis about the lamb lies down on broadway" phil and peter sayin there they love each other till this day and there were never fight between them and collins never wanted to be the singer, he was the drummer and a very good drummer...but they could choose between ending genesis or go on...and they went on...for god sakes

As for this debate on Collins vs Gabriel, has anyone ever considered how much pressure Collins must have been under to suddenly have to lead the band? That must have been daunting. Was Genesis supposed to collapse and all go their separate ways because Gabriel jumped ship? Trick of the Tail was without Gabriel, give it a listen. Gabriel's Sledgehammer? Yikes. Useless drivel. I applaud Collins for doing his best and say 'boo hiss' to Gabriel for leaving and then doing nothing of substance.
No 1 could possible discredit PC for taking the place leaved by PG. AAMOF the first 2 albums w/him as lead vocalist are great . I also don't condemn 'em for incorporating Pop in the other next 3 albums (sign of those times). BUT what happens later was totally unacceptable The 20-80% Pop-Prog formula experimented in those, become an 80-20%! And that was a total disregard for their fan base. Seizing the opportunity to cash in with Pop while still a Prog brand?. Btw, PG's 1st 6 albums are Mstrpcs
WOW, That's all I can say. I've seen Peter Gabriel various times in concert, and I adore him. Stage animal. Seeing how he did it at the start is marvellous. And bloody hell, these were ALL great musicians -- Collins a fantastic drummer. I've always preferred Gabriel's genesis, but Phil did his best and they even came out with some nice songs.
You NEVER see a Genesis fan that likes both sides of them. It's an either/or proposition and the arguments will never cease. Collins/Gabriel Bruford/White Howe/Rabin Wakeman/Kay
Of course, it's pretentious. It's early progressive rock!!! That's what it's all about.
@brantleyallen I like Genesis with Gabriel and also with Collins, as I like Pink Floyd with Waters and with Gilmour, they are just different, Phil just changed Genesis style, but he didn't ruin it.
@matthiasjabs10 Sorry you took it so literally. Look at all the comments here: Phil is better. Peter is better. Phil is better. Peter is better. The point is it doesn't really matter.
@brantleyallen You're right, I don't understand why the people argue about that all the time, I think thay are both great, with Gabriel it was amazing, but after him it was still great, just different. And apart of that, the ones who made Genesis sound like they did in the early years were Hackett and Banks, not only Peter.
@matthiasjabs10 What?... Didn't ruin it?... I must disagree on that one!.. He ruined it for the band's Prog fan base... Are you kidding me? That's undeniable! Bringing a band from Progressive music to a genre that could easily be consider to be its nemesis, is mos def ruin it.
What did you expect? Prog fans turning into Pop, only because three guys decided to cash in with an easy and commercialized style of music? By now you know it didn't happened. And you must have an idea why didn't happen.
@vivelavidarocka I also love prog rock, Pink Floyd and Genesis are my favourite bands, and of course he totally changed their style, I think Genesis was better when they made prog, but don't forget that their classical sound comes from steve and tony banks, if you listen a trick of the tail you'll see that, the big change was when hackett left. Apart of that, I don't have to choose between the early or later Genesis, I like both, and I'm a prog fan, as you said in your comment
@matthiasjabs10 Fair ebough, You are a Prog fan that happens to also like Pop Rock. Good for you. (not been sarcastic)
I'm also a Prog fan that likes Pop (not too much. Maybe two or three acts, the most)) But one that can't forget (nor forgive) the members of his fav Prog band for wasting their talent by switching genres.
Btw. I just read in the last issue of Prog mag, or Uncut or Mojo. (don't remember) PG is talking to the other members of the band to make a movie or a musical, based on TLLDOB
@vivelavidarocka Wow, I always wanted to see a movie about The lamb... I hope they agree with that idea and make it, it'd be great. And going back to genesis, maybe you've listened albums like Duke or Abacab, those are the albums were they made very commercial songs; but maybe if you listen some other songs, like fading lights, you'll see that they still making great music, or tick of the tail as I said before.
I agree with you about Genesis .. however, for me, Phil did ruin Genesis .. 1980 on was a lot of POP .. I prefer early Genesis with Peter as the front man .. they were at their Prime/BEST .. I know, I saw them 3x's in the early to mid 70's .. Peter was unreal, a true artist .. ABBA CAB .. NOT the Genesis I fell in love with .. someone compared Phil to Billy Joel .. I had to sort of agree, Phil really did change Genesis and not for the better as far as I'm concerned :(
Collins tok them in a commercial POP direction .. the day Peter left, it was all she wrote for me .. bye bye Genesis .. saw them 3x's in the early to mid 70's at their prime w/Peter as the front man/artist
@XxpauldadudexX Oh boy, I have to get in on this. Those Collins albums are just so catchy in that they sound just like everything else, eh? Complexity, depth and variety require too much thought to appreciate, I'll just use the excuse that it's "pretentious" music. Give me something I can put on AM radio next to Madonna and Taylor Swift, please! Come on, man
@LisaJJMerry Typical music snob....this is pretentious and you know it.
PS I LOVE da vid on ur channel where the bull gave them bloodthirsty crowd what they wanted....one sided violence and hahahaha they got it right up their arses...go bull you pwnd the crowd xD
@LisaJJMerry Well , we all got different taste n I wont hate on you cuz yours is crap xD Phil Collins made some good songs n if its shit why did people buy it in millions then ? I bet youre a hippy , into old weird stuff....only thing I like about hippies is they care about animals
@XxpauldadudexX "N if is shit why did people buy it"... Are you seriously implying that what "people buy" most, automatically gives it excellence? Oh my dear God. You are certainly clueless about music.
People "buy in millions" Bieber and Gaga crap, for God's sake!!
And yes, if been a hippy makes me have a great taste in music without considering what other people likes, and more important, being involved in other issues you idiotic trolling brain considers "old weird stuff", so be it.
@vivelavidarocka hahaha funny...wow dont even dare say I think Bieber n gaga is good ffs.
Genesis with phil Collins was'nt manufactured wanky crap sung by lil bitches using auto tune like who you said bought by middle schoolers n ya know it. Collins was fukin awesome live...proper great musician and God lol I sing better than beaver in the flippin shower...its a shit comparison to Genesis ...also be quiet , i aint a troll. people who disagree arent trolls lol =)
no you can't .. they don't know .. I saw them 3x's in the early to mid 70's .. Peter and the front man/artist .. the day Peter left, they died for me :(

Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
That's why a band like Camel should get more recognition and should be acknowledge. Latimer got tired and sick of record labels asking him for mainstream and radio hits and sold everything amd moved in early 90's to independent production (his own company) and composed prog music from his heart, a few best of his albums (Harbour of tears, Dust and Dreams, Rajaz, etc)
you shouldnt be so black and white, thats the problem with the hardcor-prog-"fans". collins did a great job for he was never meant to be the singer/frontman and he never sold genesis by the pound. dont be so short-sighted, listen to domino and home by the sea, are that pop songs? no prog? why not? too short?^^ just dont lie to yourself folks.
@Revoox86 Honestly? IMO Domino P1, a great Pop ballad. P 2 and The Brazilian sound to me like video games tunes. Home by the Sea is one of the greatest Pop ballads ever composed by a group of Prog musicians, hence the multiple prog elements, (mostly chords progressions) incorporated in it, But it could had been shorter
BTW I could really like, for what it is, a well structured Pop song, (who hasn't been seduced by catchy choruses & melodies) j just get tired of them fast and furiously.
@cius2112 And what does 'closed-minded' mean? It means that you have actually made up your mind about what you want music to achieve, this doesn't mean you don't try other styles and ideas, it means you can be judgemental from your knowledge, values and idealism. Saying someone is closed-minded by judging music is like saying people are bigoted by voting. See the problem in such reasoning? Yes, we are closed-minded, but proudly so, if it means to be cheeky about we listen to, and respect music.
@cius2112 I listened every kind of music in my life: jazz, pop, rock, metal, fusion, blues, folk, mpb (musica popular brasileira), caribbean, reggae, classical, opera, punk, new wave, grunge, african, etc. etc.... Maybe also music you don't ever listend. A lot of beautiful music and a lot of (more) garbage music. So I don't think I'm "closed minded". But I repute that Genesis music is top expressive music art. That's all.
Absolutely right!!. We Prog fans are hermetically closed minded to accept the co existence of garbage (mostly corporate music industry designed) along other forms of free spirited created sounds on this planet
You see, we're a different kind of breed. A little bit too complex in our tastes. Everything we read ,watch or hear has to be challenging and OPEN to different ways of perceptiveness
We find what most of the people listen these days, boring and dull. But we're cool and proud being this way
Peter's voice sounds great here and in 2011 (the same). Awesome group. I totally agree with Revoox86, I believe Phil Collins was less of a sell out in Genesis. Genesis was complete talent at it's best. Love Genesis with all original members.
i just wanted to say that they always had prog rock songs after 1975 till 1991 and the "invisible bullshit" has 3 of them, most ppl just know collins for his pop songs thats a pity
collins sold genesis by the pound? really dumb comment, have u ever listened to "ripples", "entangled", "mad man moon", " "keep it dark", "me and sarah jane", "domino", "home by the sea", "fading lights"...so please tell me is this prog rock or is it pop? even after gabriel they made long songs on EVERY album. you have to accept that genesis as a whole is awesome, period.
@Revoox86 Agree with you. Some of the ones you've mentioned are great and some are decent works. BUT you must also agree that most of their/HIS later stuff was totally "Invisible Bullshit" for Prog standards.
And why would I "have to accept Genesis as a whole". I'm a fan of the genre the band used to play in early albums (not really into the cult of musicians).
BTW not because a song is "long" automatically makes it Prog or even good. And that statement my dear boy, was as dumb as a doornail.

Why is Lady Gaga mentioned under every rock video? I do not listen her music and have nothing to do with her fans. They live there lives and listen their music. Why wouldn't we do the same thing and enjoy are great taste in music?
its not a joke, music these days is in such a bad state that its almost irreperable. Horrific 'efforts' such as Lady Gaga and whatnot just make me feel I am waking up into a nightmare each day.

Ah, Prog Rock, the domain of the creative and technically talented muso. This is where you find artists who actually design their music to tell a story
@vivelavidarocka it was the time, i suppouse. The band transformed in a pop band after steve hackett left, not gabriel. So I suppouse mike, tony and phil just wanted to do something easier or "happier".
@ravenmek C'mon! Let's just say it as it is: "Mike, Tony and Phil wanted to make money" (I would put Phil first, since he was already recording Pop ballads as a solo artist)
"Happier", "lighter"?. Yeah, right. That's the excuse they gave to their Prog fans (still not an excuse to make "Invisible Bullshit" commercial kind of music).
I still would had take 'em seriously if they'd had kept the right balance of Pop and Prog they did with Duke and ATTWT. But no!..They wanted more...!!
@vivelavidarocka please listen all genesis records after the lamb and you will notice lots of prog songs, even rock and experimental things (who dunnit) and they kept the right balance of pop and rock and prog rock. just listen their albums carefully not just the song "invisible touch" but the whole album and you will notice 3 prog rock songs on it.
@Revoox86 I HAD. And those "prog" songs are so predictable are boring. The surprise factor was gone. Signature changes? Not a chance!. You know what? I did dig the band for what it was back then: A quality pop act. I had listen all their albums with my older brother since I was 7 And just when I'm old enough to go with him to concerts (my mom and dad had a 12 yrs old minimum rule), they go mainstream Lucky me!
No biggie Marillion were making more interesting stuff at the time they went softy
And we always had King Crimson. So yes. the Genesis I knew was missed, but on the other hand gave me the opportunity to experiment the new and exiting sounds of "college radio" (aka alternative).
Bands like Pixies, NIN, Husker Du, Pavement, Sonic Youth were as experimental as the Prog acts I loved as a kid.
Cheers. I'm out.
Some times having a top rated comment could be a curse. You need to explain why you wrote hundred times. Peace
@vivelavidarocka well, Gabriel did pop too, that's why I said "it was the time". I like invisible touch (not as much as The lamb... or Foxtrot, but still) and I think is just as another band that happen to have almost all the same musicians!
exsqueeze Gabriel NEVER EVER did POP when he was the front man/artist with GENESIS .. 1967 - 1974/75 ............ Phil's music went far more Pop than Peter ever did .. Abacab ....... someone compared Phil to Billy Joel .. you could never ever compare Peter in any stag of his career to Billy Joel
@vivelavidarocka That's actually a really spot-on comment, though I suspect (don't you) that Genesis had stopped being Genesis as we knew it simply because of Gabriel leaving.
More Lady Gaga Records sold than Genesis becaus of a little thing called the Internet, You Tube and Facebook - can't compare apples to oranges - Like you stated the fans are brain dead and do what the mighty internet says...
So much is going on there...
markusmala 1 month ago
@markusmala The genre is called "Prog Rock". IT IS a form of rock. Like if "Pure" Rock (whatever that is for you) didn't take from other styles of music (jazz, blues, folk, etc, etc, etc)
Anyways is good shit. Why bother to brand it
vivelavidarocka 1 month ago
@vivelavidarocka You are right and I love Genesis, but the captivating is also to discuss it cause we can. I believe the brand Prog-Rock was not exactly accurate and taken by the media like it is for so long and most of everyone agreed, Other bands were sounding more Rock than them, I found that Progressiv "music" seemed much better and open for their diversity like richness, and I came to like them first because of the soft acoustic sound like the progessions they were the only one to play.
markusmala 1 month ago
@markusmala I totally agree Genesis were beyond classification, they had their own style..

MrAndersOFlaherty 3 months ago
Phil is still good friends with Peter Gabriel. Not many know this, but Gabriel provided backup vocals with Sting for Phil Collins' most succesful solo album, No Jacket Required.
But, in my humble opinion, the best Genesis lineup is as they have been for many years: Phil, Tony, Mike, Daryl and Chester - easily the best live act I've ever seen.
Phil Collins is a brilliant, brilliant drummer, songwriter, singer and musician in general.
Michael271284 3 months ago

nice to know that they still remain friends .. however, in my personal opinion .. Peter as the front man 1967 - 1975 their best ever years .. Peter is a true artist .. I saw them 3x's in the early to mid 70's .. Peter & the band blew my socks OFF, they were unreal !! not a fan of the direction Phil took them in, POP :(

MovieClipQueen 3 months ago

71029rinasco 3 months ago
As far as I know, Genesis LAST album was "Lamb Lies down on Broadway"
After that, Genesis disbanded
Lapatusia 3 months ago
You NEVER see a Genesis fan that likes both sides of them. It's an either/or proposition and the arguments will never cease. Collins/Gabriel Bruford/White Howe/Rabin Wakeman/Kay
Of course, it's pretentious. It's early progressive rock!!! That's what it's all about.
brantleyallen 3 months ago
@brantleyallen I like Genesis with Gabriel and also with Collins, as I like Pink Floyd with Waters and with Gilmour, they are just different, Phil just changed Genesis style, but he didn't ruin it.
matthiasjabs10 2 months ago
@matthiasjabs10 Sorry you took it so literally. Look at all the comments here: Phil is better. Peter is better. Phil is better. Peter is better. The point is it doesn't really matter.
brantleyallen 2 months ago
@brantleyallen You're right, I don't understand why the people argue about that all the time, I think thay are both great, with Gabriel it was amazing, but after him it was still great, just different. And apart of that, the ones who made Genesis sound like they did in the early years were Hackett and Banks, not only Peter.
matthiasjabs10 2 months ago
@matthiasjabs10 Absolutely!!! In this, he's just a lip-flapper, not playing an instrument at all!!
brantleyallen 2 months ago
@matthiasjabs10 What?... Didn't ruin it?... I must disagree on that one!.. He ruined it for the band's Prog fan base... Are you kidding me? That's undeniable! Bringing a band from Progressive music to a genre that could easily be consider to be its nemesis, is mos def ruin it.
What did you expect? Prog fans turning into Pop, only because three guys decided to cash in with an easy and commercialized style of music? By now you know it didn't happened. And you must have an idea why didn't happen.
vivelavidarocka 2 months ago
@vivelavidarocka I also love prog rock, Pink Floyd and Genesis are my favourite bands, and of course he totally changed their style, I think Genesis was better when they made prog, but don't forget that their classical sound comes from steve and tony banks, if you listen a trick of the tail you'll see that, the big change was when hackett left. Apart of that, I don't have to choose between the early or later Genesis, I like both, and I'm a prog fan, as you said in your comment
matthiasjabs10 2 months ago
@matthiasjabs10 Fair ebough, You are a Prog fan that happens to also like Pop Rock. Good for you. (not been sarcastic)
I'm also a Prog fan that likes Pop (not too much. Maybe two or three acts, the most)) But one that can't forget (nor forgive) the members of his fav Prog band for wasting their talent by switching genres.
Btw. I just read in the last issue of Prog mag, or Uncut or Mojo. (don't remember) PG is talking to the other members of the band to make a movie or a musical, based on TLLDOB
vivelavidarocka 2 months ago
@vivelavidarocka Wow, I always wanted to see a movie about The lamb... I hope they agree with that idea and make it, it'd be great. And going back to genesis, maybe you've listened albums like Duke or Abacab, those are the albums were they made very commercial songs; but maybe if you listen some other songs, like fading lights, you'll see that they still making great music, or tick of the tail as I said before.
matthiasjabs10 2 months ago
@matthiasjabs10

That's why a band like Camel should get more recognition and should be acknowledge. Latimer got tired and sick of record labels asking him for mainstream and radio hits and sold everything amd moved in early 90's to independent production (his own company) and composed prog music from his heart, a few best of his albums (Harbour of tears, Dust and Dreams, Rajaz, etc)
arelo67 3 months ago in playlist YouTube Mix for Genesis
you shouldnt be so black and white, thats the problem with the hardcor-prog-"fans". collins did a great job for he was never meant to be the singer/frontman and he never sold genesis by the pound. dont be so short-sighted, listen to domino and home by the sea, are that pop songs? no prog? why not? too short?^^ just dont lie to yourself folks.
Revoox86 3 months ago
@Revoox86 Honestly? IMO Domino P1, a great Pop ballad. P 2 and The Brazilian sound to me like video games tunes. Home by the Sea is one of the greatest Pop ballads ever composed by a group of Prog musicians, hence the multiple prog elements, (mostly chords progressions) incorporated in it, But it could had been shorter
BTW I could really like, for what it is, a well structured Pop song, (who hasn't been seduced by catchy choruses & melodies) j just get tired of them fast and furiously.
vivelavidarocka 3 months ago
i always find it weird how so many prog rock fans are so ironically closed minded about music....
cius2112 3 months ago
@cius2112 And what does 'closed-minded' mean? It means that you have actually made up your mind about what you want music to achieve, this doesn't mean you don't try other styles and ideas, it means you can be judgemental from your knowledge, values and idealism. Saying someone is closed-minded by judging music is like saying people are bigoted by voting. See the problem in such reasoning? Yes, we are closed-minded, but proudly so, if it means to be cheeky about we listen to, and respect music.
Tweenythepriest 3 months ago
@cius2112 I listened every kind of music in my life: jazz, pop, rock, metal, fusion, blues, folk, mpb (musica popular brasileira), caribbean, reggae, classical, opera, punk, new wave, grunge, african, etc. etc.... Maybe also music you don't ever listend. A lot of beautiful music and a lot of (more) garbage music. So I don't think I'm "closed minded". But I repute that Genesis music is top expressive music art. That's all.
18165paolo 3 months ago
Absolutely right!!. We Prog fans are hermetically closed minded to accept the co existence of garbage (mostly corporate music industry designed) along other forms of free spirited created sounds on this planet
You see, we're a different kind of breed. A little bit too complex in our tastes. Everything we read ,watch or hear has to be challenging and OPEN to different ways of perceptiveness
We find what most of the people listen these days, boring and dull. But we're cool and proud being this way

collins sold genesis by the pound? really dumb comment, have u ever listened to "ripples", "entangled", "mad man moon", " "keep it dark", "me and sarah jane", "domino", "home by the sea", "fading lights"...so please tell me is this prog rock or is it pop? even after gabriel they made long songs on EVERY album. you have to accept that genesis as a whole is awesome, period.
Revoox86 3 months ago in playlist Genesis/Peter Gabriel
@Revoox86 Agree with you. Some of the ones you've mentioned are great and some are decent works. BUT you must also agree that most of their/HIS later stuff was totally "Invisible Bullshit" for Prog standards.
And why would I "have to accept Genesis as a whole". I'm a fan of the genre the band used to play in early albums (not really into the cult of musicians).
BTW not because a song is "long" automatically makes it Prog or even good. And that statement my dear boy, was as dumb as a doornail.

ravenmek 3 months ago
@ravenmek C'mon! Let's just say it as it is: "Mike, Tony and Phil wanted to make money" (I would put Phil first, since he was already recording Pop ballads as a solo artist)
"Happier", "lighter"?. Yeah, right. That's the excuse they gave to their Prog fans (still not an excuse to make "Invisible Bullshit" commercial kind of music).
I still would had take 'em seriously if they'd had kept the right balance of Pop and Prog they did with Duke and ATTWT. But no!..They wanted more...!!
vivelavidarocka 3 months ago
@vivelavidarocka please listen all genesis records after the lamb and you will notice lots of prog songs, even rock and experimental things (who dunnit) and they kept the right balance of pop and rock and prog rock. just listen their albums carefully not just the song "invisible touch" but the whole album and you will notice 3 prog rock songs on it.
Revoox86 3 months ago in playlist Genesis/Peter Gabriel
@Revoox86 I HAD. And those "prog" songs are so predictable are boring. The surprise factor was gone. Signature changes? Not a chance!. You know what? I did dig the band for what it was back then: A quality pop act. I had listen all their albums with my older brother since I was 7 And just when I'm old enough to go with him to concerts (my mom and dad had a 12 yrs old minimum rule), they go mainstream Lucky me!
No biggie Marillion were making more interesting stuff at the time they went softy
vivelavidarocka 3 months ago
@vivelavidarocka Correction and cont. "Time signature changes".
Peace
vivelavidarocka 3 months ago
@vivelavidarocka well, Gabriel did pop too, that's why I said "it was the time". I like invisible touch (not as much as The lamb... or Foxtrot, but still) and I think is just as another band that happen to have almost all the same musicians!
