I have a remodeled garage, see my videos or search "Finished Garage With MaxJax 2 Post Lift" for a guided tour of the garage interior, plenty of ideas you might like
I knew I recognized this shop. Around 4,5, or 6 years ago the owner was WOOD magazines "Ultimate Workshop" winner if I'm not mistaken. Of course the prize was .......more tools! That is a tremendous shop. I can't imagine the hours spent putting it all together.
While Jacques is clearly suffering from an obsessive - compulsive disorder with respect to collecting woodworking equipment, I would love to have a shop like his! Incredible!
Looks more like a collector instead of a functional workplace... I agree if he dont have a tool then they probable dont make one, question is where would you start to find that tool? I got claustrophobic just watching this tour.
OMG...it must be an illness for sure! Wow ...green with envy! Who would ever leave a shop like that. Would take me a lifetime to collect all those tools and stuff! Awsome!!!
Crikey! It looks like a freaking hardware store in there! Someone has clearly been collecting tools for that workshop for a Long Time. Great big basement, too!
I want to walk into a store with this video and say "I'll take it all". Then I want to back the truck into my new Garage/:Factory-work-shop" and start building furniture for my home as well as some sweet guitars!!!
That is digusting, rude and pretentious. I want one just like it!!!!!! Every morning as I entered it, I would run around it three times screaming YEAH! while waving my arms in the air and jumping up and down.
Part of me says this should be my ideal workshop, but I can't help thinking that if it was mine I would miss having to be a bit innovative because I didn't have the right tool.
One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I think it's so cool that humans can become so utterly absorbed in craftsmanship. Too bad this guy's mortal. I would wish nothing more for him to live and work in his shop forever.
@legoboy7825 that makes no sense, because he uses his tools, sawdust would be everywhere on everything in that workshop but theres not much sawdust around the whole shop at all
Amazing shop. I can see that he can build any piece imaginable, it seems like it might be hard to actually find space to put them together. I didn't see a space where you could actually assemble anything. Is there an open space somewhere (hopefully near the way to get stuff in/out)?
@sprior913 I was thinking the same thing. Amazing number of tools and parts and such crammed into every nook and cranny, but no room to make anything bigger than a breadbox.
And it's too clean. I can't imagine trying to vacuum up the sawdust in there (even with all that DC).
stinking unbelievable, wow where in the world does one acquire the funds to purchase so many useful items, others never fail to amaze me.
Leave me wondering where i must have went wrong in my endeavors to make a living for myself, for heck i surpassed mid life and still haven't a pot to pee in.
Now all he need is some floorspace! I mean, the shop is awesome, it has everything.. But I don't think I'd like working in it.. It's just too cramped. Double the floor space and keep all the stuff and it would be great! But that's just me.. I guess some people like it cramped..
@TheYTViolation Maybe the shop is the WIP.. How it functions as a shop is much different than how it looks as one. I got the impression I was looking in a hardware store and not a shop per-se, but that's not such a bad thing either really..
Absolutely Brilliant. Good luck to Jacques it looks like he has put his heart and sole into this workshop ( not to mention lots of cash ) but there is lots of evidence of actual projects being done. Only one change I would make. At least one of those bottles on the wheel would have a nice malt whiskey in it.
That place is crazy! How could one person possibly use all those tools? I saw so many multiples of tools - he's got back-ups for his back-ups - back-ups! I would have liked to have seen one of his jar-wheels straight-on. Old timers really love to store things in jars but I've never seen them placed in a spoke and wheel format.
Actually looks very difficult to work in. Too cramped for my style. I appreciate the man's neatness and organizational skills, though. Gotta give him that lol.
I have two thoughts about this video. (1) Great choice not to provide commentary. The images speak for themselves so well that commentary would only detract. (2) Jacques has to do woodworking out of love for it. Why? I don't see any way that he could recover his capital investment in bench tools, hand tools, fasteners, etc.
yeah, if you need 18 of everything
