  • Gamers should realize that single-role playing game(RPG) is different compare with MMORPG. Single-RPG can make movement flawless like this long time ago especially with all types of consoles games. But heck this is open persistant world with many many players and with movement just like this I find that's very rare. This is the first mmorpg game that I've seen anyways. Even SWTOR with full voice computer AI still seems worse. GW2 movement is better than Skyrim in my opinion, Aha dodging/rolling

  • I just can't wait for this game. I wish it would hurry the hell up and get released! D:

  • for all of you ,,retro,, mmo-ers who think guild wars was good and you like the classical linear linear slash.... skill,,,, mmo you will regret guild wars 2

From my opinnion guild wars 2 look more similar to dragon age 2...soo...it's a beguining.

  • The dude playing reminds me of little britain

  • Tera is fucking bullshit been playing it for about a year in "Korean" the games a big grind I mean if your a retard and want to grind your ass then Tera is for you. Plus combat ai system is too slow to react, you end up doing the same quests over again and other thing is that they have a cash shop just like maple story! It's fucking a mess

  • wow so boring....... tera FTW ( wait, is tera out?? im still playing aion )

  • @HaloKing2005 i was wondering if the skills effected by your weapon are selectable? Also does the gameplay live up to expectations?

  • @haloheroz The skills affected by your weapon (on the left side of the bar) are not select-able. And other than the first skill on the very left, all of your weapon skills have to be unlocked through usage of that weapon. Though the skills that ARE select-able are the ones on the right side of the bar which makes up for utility, heals, and elite skills.

  • It is only a lvl 1 zone, and it is still breathtaking :O

  • i see no difference, cept for the loading

  • Hm... I kinda wonder what the character customization is like... That's one of the main things I look at when I see an awsome game... I allready know that you can customize different parts and pieces of your equipment to be different colors but I wonder what hairstyles and face appearances and so forth you can have and how in-depth the customization is... Grr... I wish I could try this out D= it looks amazing! They should make some sort of trial thingy for people to test out over the summer =P

  • Err... I said trial when I meant beta... lol. But in any case I hope this game is in beta by summertime and they release some sort of open beta for people to test out. Though I understand the chances of this actually happening are low it's just something I think would be pretty dang awsome if it where to happen ya' know? But in any case I can't wait to get this game though the anticipation is probably going to kill me WAY before it comes out, in which case, I pray you all enjoy it without me....

  • couple of questions.

1 - is armour now droped in guild wars 2 or is it still crafted as in guild wars 1

2 - any idea when this comes out even a estimate wud be nice

    thanks :)

  • its out probably before christmas, my guess and you get armour likesimilar to wow: persistent quests, dungeons, world bosses, crafting and you can all so get them from doing unique things on your character like for eg: helping some random priest whos getting attacked by wolves will come to your private section in the city (instanced) and sell you stuff like staffs and robes of a unique type.

  • I have a feeling since this games an F2P, and an amazing looking MMO...that the stores are gonna get hit with people adleast 12+ Hours before opening to buy the game, Luckily..im preordering it like a smart person. Also, im wondering how their gonna handle approx 10+ million people logging into their servers at launch.

  • @Merceeyful99 rofl :D

  • so this is what i have heard will destroy wow.... I understand it is FREKING AWSOME

  • Redstone owns!!

  • Finally! Male Elem animations!

  • The gameplay style reminds me a lot of a F2P game called the chronicles of spellborn.....

  • i think arenanet is one of those companys when they dont rush to realise game... and gw2 will be big i mean BIG and will blow away wow and anothers MMORPG`s

  • @sneaksmasher arenanet NEVER said anything about it being ready in 2011...derrr. It will be done "When its Ready" as they've said tons of times... !

  • Is there only that one action bar!? If so that's way to easy and pvp will just be about who gets first hit or has best class! No skill!

  • @vgamedude12 Guild Wars one had the same skill layout. There are MANY skills to choose from in both of the games, as well as the weapons you can chose and so on. Guild Wars 1 had only one action bar and 8 skills MAX for each player and the PvP was based on skill NOT gear or hours played like most MMOs are now.

  • This game is going to change everything

  • Looks good!

  • Look so great! The self heals is almost making it Diablo like. And seeing how arenanet guys are ex-blizz this is definitely going to be one beast of a game.

  • omg a pig play to game !!

  • hm.....looks like the wurms still look the same.... ><

  • omg look at that nerd... looks like andy from little britain.... 00:13

  • it appears that combat now is:

move wasd+roll with whatever button it is, and us mouse to click skills?

i did a combination of button/mouse movements to do both combat and movement in gw1 but this seems to give less freedom if you are to move instantaneously to dodge...

  • @xgwxfreakx You move with WASD, and to roll, you just double tap the same key. So to roll to the right, you double tap D, or to roll forward, you double tap W, etc. You use your skills by pressing the corresponding number (1-0). 1-5 are your primary attack skills, 6 is the dedicated healing button, and then 7-0 are class specific skills you learn over time. You actually have a lot more freedom now. Plus, you can jump now (space bar).

  • @HaloKing2005 yeah but what i was saying was since movement is very active in combat (unlike the pve aspect of gw1) it would be tough to use skills while moving with WASD unless you remove your hand from the mouse :/ not a bad thing but i would need some time to play around with it

  • @xgwxfreakx

You can probably map buttons around to make them more accessible . I've played plenty games with the same skill layout and you`ll get used to it pretty fast. Some skills might be harder to reach, but thats where the key mapping comes in. If for some reason they forget to put that in... then yeah

  • @HaloKing2005 theyll prolly make hotkeys so you can asign buttons to skills or w/e.

  • @HaloKing2005 Seeing as you've played it, I know usually its the case in games w+a+s+d is all movement, and you can just replace those letters with the arrow keys to move about! For some reason I always get hate when I say I prefer the arrow keys, but its just what I feel more comfortable with! You know if arrow keys are set as a default for players who like that instead of wasd.

  • @xjx2 Yeah, you can use the arrow keys as default. You'd be surprised how many people actually went straight for the arrow keys instead of WASD. Only problem is that for now the default attacks are 1-0 above the keyboard (and the number pad doesn't work for attacks), however, they said they were most likely going to make it where you can use the number pad eventually, and customize the keys however you want it. You can click the attacks to make them work, but it's harder to control.

  • @xgwxfreakx

    Lol

    Clicking skills...

  • Will this work on a GT 310M (w 4g ram and 2.4ghz)? Please let me know if you think it will or not. Thanks :D

  • @splitka1996 they said that the min. requirements would Not be that far off there other GW games although they have yet to announce them, im sure it will run on variety of system Not just gaming rigs

  • Bad name choice but game itself looks nice

  • @ste8Utube The game looks nice, however the name choice isnt entirely a bad thing as it continues the guildwars story+lore.

  • I want the T-shirt the guy at 0:09 is wearing :O

  • THEY SAID IT WOULD NEED TO BE RDY IN 2011 IM GETTING CRAZY but atleast i can still try getting my HoM full

  • movement seems awkward and clunkish somehow. especially when running straight then to the side.

  • If mmos get any easier, Stephen Hawking will be able to play them.

  • 00:20...... boy or girl?

  • @britishtea24

actually i was too shocked to be laughin :>

  • 0:14 omg omg omg, cant stop laughing :D :D :D

  • @britishtea24 yeah the look on his face is priceless

    GW2 is serious business :D

  • The comparisons with Gears are disgusting to say the least.

  • Im hoping for a july release !

  • i think people who play RPG's will suffer with this game, there so used to just pressing skills and not much else, with guild wars 2 u have to place yourself perfectly otherwise you die ^_^ looking forward to it

  • A farm filled with worms? Reminds me of pre-searing. Lol the look on that guy's face :D

  • "Moo."

  • The guy playing looks quite awestruck :P

Fantastic quality videos though, can finally see what the game looks like properly!

  • Yay for necro! :D

  • It may be a repeat tutorial at each showing; however, that tutorial alone makes many other *leading* MMOs look like rubbish.

  • @MorbidLawl They aren't planning on releasing anything new for awhile. I mean seeing a playable demo after 2 years of nothing is pretty amazing alone.

  • @krazyxazn They are revealing the 5th profession this month...

  • @cwingnam That's good news. That one slipped pass me.

  • @maxulic The game is still far from launch, and this hasn't really been playable in the USA yet, so this is offering a different crowd the same experience others may have had already.

  • @HaloKing2005 is it in beta or alpha?and if it is how can some1 get a key or something to test it?

  • @pantelisOeO This is a very early demo. There will be a beta later this year, but no dates are set for a beta or for full release yet.

  • @pantelisOeO no beta yet

  • @Theo93 yes haloking answered this...im checking the site now and then to see for news...i want a beta key so bad :p

  • @pantelisOeO its in a mid-late alpha and there is no plans yet for an open beta. Probably closed ones. There is no sign up yet but maybe in a few months

  • @maxulic

    yeah, and?

they are showing the parts that they want to show. They could have shown something else, but they didn't want to for some reason.

  • Thanks for that!

Greetings from the german Gw2 community!

  • at 0:13 i spotted a hobbit lol

  • Where was this?

  • @shammydudedude They had demo stations at the Samsung booth at CES, which was held in Las Vegas.
