Well I just want a hotrod. Would like to take my 65 down the track every so often. I rebuilt the 383 about 4 years ago. Bored 30 deeper oil pan has an edelbrock 650 on it now but want to put on holley 750 or bigger. I want a good lopey idle and am changing to aero heads. Dont know if I want the 78cc for more compression or how to go about that whole thing. I would be tickled to death to get the old girl to run in the 14's. I was thinking of putting a 509 lift purple cam in.
@adamsenig c-bodies can be alot of fun..if you have the low compression flat top pistons i'd go with the closed chamber heads with 2.14 / 1.81 valves, alittle porting in the bowls wouldn't hurt either, a good alum. dualplane intake & 750 carb n headers..the 509 would give you the lopey idle but not the best match for a big heavy car, the lift is fine but 2 big on duration, i would use comps XE284H cam little less duration would be better driving but still lopey, match the springs n 2800 stall
What motor and size cam are you running. Im building my hotrod rite now for mopar nats at heath. Big 1965 Newport. Putting another bigger cam in. I rebuilt motor about 4 years ago but Im wanting a biggger cam and putting on new heads. Wanting a good lopey idle. I also put in a 430 sure grip. She pounds the pavement pretty good for big girl. lol Hope to see you there this year.
@adamsenig Cool! This car has a 440 stroked to 500 cubes, about 10 to 1 compression running on pump gas, has stage 2 ported 452 cast heads, Comp Cams hydraulic cam with 1.6 roller rockers (the builder wouldn't give us the cam specs - might be custom made), Holley Street Dominator intake and a 1000 cfm Holley carb, 1 7/8 headers, MSD 6AL. If you can tell me more about what you have and what you're thinking of changing my friends and I can probably help you out.
@xlr8chevelle This is our second year at Heath. We used to go to Brice but the cops were cracking down really hard on everyone. Heath was great this year. I hope you got a chance to go over there Saturday. It was a lot of fun.
I would drop it down in the back a little

I didn't know how big Heath was going to be this year so I stayed on Brice. I think next year we're staying at the track or in Heath.
