Wow I thought they were going to praise this movie left and right because this seemed like a critic movie, but they actually agree with me. This is a rental movie, great dialogue and acting, but it needed more. And also the Afghan parts were RIDICULOUS. They fall out of a helicopter 200 feet in the air and survive WTF.

In all seriousness, though, I really liked this film. Meryl Streep, in my opinion, has never been better. Robert Redford was also just fantastic. I'm glad he's still working steadily. :)

My favorite part of the movie was the ending. The whole point of the two soldiers deciding to fight for a cause that they believed in and not wavering in their decision regardless of what the media was saying.

I must say, I was shocked by this movie. I am so used to Hollywood making anti-bush and anti-war movies that to find one that was actually putting out positive propaganda was quite refreshing. Great movie! I would love to see more like it. The only thing I would add for future films thrust in this light is more feel-good material for movie-goers, much in the way Red Dawn affected America in the mid-80s.

I like the fact that this movie looked at the war from a different angle. It wasn't the typical anti-Bush/anti-war movie. I would imagine that a person watching this movie could take it either way, depending on their personal stance.
