  • quiero agradecerte este video realmente explicativo, es el unico en todo internet que encontre. no es mi lavadora, pero, es muy similar. muchas gracias Jerry!

I really appreciate this explanatory video, is the only internet I found around. not my washing machine, but it is very similar. thank you very much Jerry! att julio from Argentina

  • my basket is stuck and i cant get it to pull out. i have a whirlpool duet GHW9150PW0. it was squeaking pretty bad before it happened. any pointers would be appreciated. thank you

  • @guitarboy507 - the shaft is likely corroded to the bearings. Protect the end of the shaft (where the pulley mounts) and the edges of your tub and pound it out. Wood is a good protector for both surfaces. Carefully pulling on the basket as you can tweak it out of round.

  • how long it take you start to finish?

  • @djnemesis82pluss1877 - depends on the person doing it and the tools and space available. quickest possible is probably a little more than an hour but likely 2-3 hours for someone doing it the first time.

  • BTW - we do have kits for more models than the ones we have listed. Please ping us to check and see if we have a kit for your model. Visit: hometask.com/washerrepair.aspx

Know that this is a bit of a labor of love so we are doing the best we can to add model numbers and navigate all the weird stuff the manufactures do to try to prevent this sort of simple repair.

  • learn more about the kits, video, etc. hometask.com/washerrepair.aspx

  • Great video. We have a Kenmore He 2 plus type 832 model no. 11047512600 purchased in 2006 that has started making the dreaded bearing failing sound. I did not see the bearing / seal replacement kit for this model on your website. Does this mean I am out of luck, or is it close enough to one of the listed models? Thanks

  • @larrydonna369 If it is an HE2 then we have a kit for it. Amy can verify this for you for sure. Go ahead and order it and post your question to our Google forum for this as it is helpful for us to be able to add model numbers to the list. There are two different HE2 kits so she is likely going to need some additional info or she can send you both kits and you can return the one you don't need. • I was able to get it, I just had to pinch it alittle bit with a pair of pilers. When I took them apart I believe the metal one attatched to the top and right below it was the plastic one. I researched a video online and that was how another motor was also taken apart. I just want to thank you so much for your help. I was gun shy going into this project but you were very helpful, I feel empowered. Thanks Jerrod very much for all your help and patience.

  • update: turns out I made a rookie mistake and didnt remove part of the bearing casing that was damaged. Got everything in, however I did manage to break the air trap so Im now waiting till tuesday on a replacement one of those! My last issue im having is there are two grounding wires on the back of the motor that you access from the front bottom panel, one has a plastic tip and one has a metal. I cant seem to get the metal one to attatch, it doesnt even look like it slides on there. any ideas?

  • @hnilickafan33 glad you got that figured out. for the wire, you may need to crimp it a little bit so that it fits snug onto the male side if it is the one i am thinking of. make sure you connect it the same way you took it apart.

  • Thank you so much for the fast reply. I did verify the tub is the same one I had. When I place the tubs together and run my fingers around there, I cant seem to find anything that is catching. Some parts of it are only showing a quarter of an inch difference from being flush and on the other sides its roughly an inch difference. I have the one that uses the clamps you have to tap on. When the tubs are pushed together, is the inner drum supposed to spin freely without any sort of resistance?

  • @hnilickafan33 ok - then remove the stainless basket and put the tub sides together. if they go together fine without the basket then we need to look at something there to try to figure out why it is hanging up. there are two things that come to mind. First, i have heard of guys tweaking the shape of the stainless tub by pulling on the front of it or the opening which really messes it up. The other problem could be that the seal is not the correct size.

  • @hnilickafan33 to verify if the seal is the correct size, check it with the one you removed. you should check the bearing sizes also just to verify all is correct. you can also pop the seal out and try sliding it over the shaft and verify that it sits down on the shoulder as designed.

  • Jerrod please help! I got a replacement rear tube assembly and for some reason I can't get the plastic outer tubs to align so I can put the metal brackets back on. Is there a trick im missing? I installed the new seal that came with the assembly, but once I try and put it back together they would line up flush and if I try to spin the drum it wont budge, now if the drums are sperate the rear drum spins freely. Please help! hnilickafan33@yahoo.com Thank you so much!

  • @hnilickafan33 - - FIRST, I would double verify that they sent you the correct tub. Then I would go around the edges and make sure that there is nothing holding the two up from coming together. Does your model have the pound on clips around the edges or the bolts? Are you able to align the tub halves together so the flange sits in the groove all the way around?

  • @HomeTaskdotcom If all of that is correct then you may need to use some vise grips or pliers to pull the two together enough to get the clips started and then work your way around the tub installing the clips.

  • good video but where would i get a bearing for a whirlpool duet. whirlpool only sell the drum half as a whole for way too much money

  • @lstine80 visit this web page: hometask.com/washerrepair.aspx

  • Mr. Handy man! We have a kenmore elite HE3 with a corroded drum support. do you know what the part number is for the support so that we can fix this? Thanks Jack & Kevin

  • great video and the young man doing the taping is doing an excellent job. i have a set of keys stuck right under the door grey rubber seal under the tub. after watching this video i think if i take door off and that rubber i might be able to reach in and grab the keys. they are jammed and wont fall down and come out bottom like coins will. what do you think about this idea? thanks for your help. took me a week to download your video. darn internet i have.

  • Good video but I believe you should have placed more emphasis ON NOT putting any pressure on the inner race or bearing cage. In fact what you did fitting the inner bearing likely caused bruising of the balls and races which will lead to reduced bearing life.

I note that you list some of the Kenmore Canadian variants that use the bearings and seals. Do you ship, particularly the seals, to Canada?

    Thank You

  • @biguggy1 yes, we ship to canada regularly:)

  • My friend I love the positive attitude. Thank you and happy birthday to THE YOUNG MAN YOU ARE TEACHING SO WELL.
