Hers were a 1997 model, 2003 model, and now the 2010. My family are very loyal to Fords. The 2003 model saved my mom and I in a car accident. Someone hit us going 30 MPH hit our back bumper. All the damage was a tiny dent and a scratch. We drove away perfectly fine thirty minutes later.

This is sad. The Explorer is dead .They should have called this abberation the "Flexplorer", considering that it's basically a rebodied Flex. This thing will not last. The Taurus, Fiesta, and F150 Raptor are single handedly putting to shame GM. GM sunk Pontiac, Saturn, and Saab. They propelled the image of greed and pompous attitudes with Hummer (which is looking for a buyer still). Chevy is by far the worst offender: They downsized the image and power of the Impala to act more like a fucking Camry. The Aveo is fucking God awful, it needs to be axed. Its trucks are shit. And the Volt is going to be an expensive joke.
The problem with American cars is that we have overpaid dildos like the ones in this video who make stupid promo vids about a car. Oh I feel so good now. Get over it and show the damn car. You think they have stupid commercials in other countries?

There is no reason why any American should not drive a Ford. They are innovative, making amazing products, and Ford is doing SUCH exciting things! I'm proud to be a Ford owner, and can't wait to buy my next one.
Last time I bought a brand new Ford or any Ford was the year 2000. The Explorer XLT I bought drove 700 miles before it started displaying symptoms which resulted in an engine replacement at 1300 miles, 900 miles before it nearly killed us due to a failing ABS kit, and continued with a tire recall, failing radio which could not be replaced as it was discontinued, an intermittently failing rear windshield wiper, etc., etc. The next time I trust a Ford enough to drive it will probably be never.

The problem with the volt is that is it soooo expensive (41 grand base). Just try out a Ford and I promise, this new Explorer will get good gas millage enough to any person's standards.
@mtaa11 Very true, but also, if you read my point above, SUVs are for carrying people for distances. Don't get this car if you drive 5 minutes away and are single. But hybrids do not produce the same amount of kinetic energy as electric cars (think of the Tesla's acceleration). This is the reason why hybrids are not suitable for SUVs because they simple would not be satisfactory to drive.
@Photoblock Very good point, but remember... electric cars run on a battery too and can be just as bad to the environment as the hybrid battery. But yes, America is very different form Europe in that we haul more and haul for many more hours than the norm in Europe. We have wide streets while europeans have narrow streets. Consider, and you won't be disappointed.
This would be a cool video if they created a world-changing solar powered Ford Explorer. Then I would sort of be interested in the people who put it together. But, it's just another car what the fuck.

@Varegous Not just lunch, but you are funding their country over ours... you are forgetting the labor costs in japan and the main point... the profits they make go into investing in Japan, Not America. It is simple economics, when a company makes a profit (which Ford is) they can start to invest in companies like GE or other American companies, which in turn, brightens the economy and the money stays here in America. I understand that it is not much, but in the end, we all benefit.

Last time I bought a brand new Ford or any Ford was the year 2000. The Explorer XLT I bought drove 700 miles before it started displaying symptoms which resulted in an engine replacement at 1300 miles, 900 miles before it nearly killed us due to a failing ABS kit, and continued with a tire recall, failing radio which could not be replaced as it was discontinued, an intermittently failing rear windshield wiper, etc., etc. The next time I trust a Ford enough to drive it will probably be never.

@etipuf I smell BS...I HIGHLY doubt a 5.0L Windsor failing before even 50K miles, having no ABS is no big deal unless you're a bad driver, tire recall? blame the tire manufacturer, Radio's are never discontinued there's best buy and the J-yard, int rear winshield wiper....sure you were using it right? lol

And the regarding the rear windshield wiper, I was not using it correctly as it failed immediately after I removed it from your rear end, dumb@ss. What Windsor 5.0L are you talking about, the car had a state of the art Ford 4L SOHC! If you had the memory of a monkey, you would remember the tires failing was due to Ford's recommended 26PSI.

The problem with the volt is that is it soooo expensive (41 grand base). Just try out a Ford and I promise, this new Explorer will get good gas millage enough to any person's standards.

@mtaa11 Very true, but also, if you read my point above, SUVs are for carrying people for distances. Don't get this car if you drive 5 minutes away and are single. But hybrids do not produce the same amount of kinetic energy as electric cars (think of the Tesla's acceleration). This is the reason why hybrids are not suitable for SUVs because they simple would not be satisfactory to drive.

@Photoblock Very good point, but remember... electric cars run on a battery too and can be just as bad to the environment as the hybrid battery. But yes, America is very different form Europe in that we haul more and haul for many more hours than the norm in Europe. We have wide streets while europeans have narrow streets. Consider, and you won't be disappointed.

When people understand that FORD is one of our last hopes in being a great country, we all will succeed. I ask to just try a ford, I have one and I love it. It is actually really good quality and it is extremely reliable... just check the JD Power ratings.

@Varegous Not just lunch, but you are funding their country over ours... you are forgetting the labor costs in japan and the main point... the profits they make go into investing in Japan, Not America. It is simple economics, when a company makes a profit (which Ford is) they can start to invest in companies like GE or other American companies, which in turn, brightens the economy and the money stays here in America. I understand that it is not much, but in the end, we all benefit.

@WorldGamersUnited It's not always that simple. A lot of Fords are manufactured in Mexico, you have to make sure before you buy the car. You can find out online by going to the UAW website.
