@sirlloydoutcastofthe I know it's a prequel. But it's arguably a prequel for the second half of Shadow Heart's story as we get involved with the telekinetic orphan (Haley).

I also know of the boss who's directly involved but again that comes up in the latter half and though it does help set into motion... There's the possibility of Ben Hyuga... Imagine that? We already know three party members. Ben Hyuga, Liu Zhuzhen and his loving wife.

A prequel to SH, starring Ben Hyuga... I'd play it.

One of the best RPG's of all time, in my opinion. I love this song, too. I didn't buy the game when it first came out but I'm glad that I did later. Shadow Hearts had a lot of elements that I like; a dark, serious and an addicting story, a little humor here and there, detailed characters that I got attached to, and the soundtrack was eerie and gothic and I loved every minute of it. If you are a big fan of RPG'S, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Now that I think about it, why DIDN'T they make the third game based off the good end of SH1? It's basically assumed that after he completes SH2 with the good end that he goes back and gets the good end in SH1. Of course, he could also have just decided to settle down with Alice and that is it. =)

it might be a little short by RPG standards but there isn't much downtime.

i'd say you'll get about 20-25 hours from it. not as long as most other RPGs of the time but still more then you'll get out of most other games..

Depends on what you want to do. I've only played SH1 and Koudelka it's prequel. You can play those multiple times and get a different outcome. SH1 has a good ending and a bad ending, it's got hidden Fusions and side quests to get final weapons so It's a lot of fun to play through again. Koudelka has three endings and there's so much you can do there so you should play through it again. All in all you can get a good 50 hours out of each, depending.

Sounds do-able if my past games were anything to go by hehe. Hack//Infection for example is said to be roughly 30 hours gameplay, and I somehow managed to get 70 hours out of it [Minus about 10 at most for idle play] FF10 gave me about 400 odd hours completing side quests and maxing characters.

@gott957 I bought both Shadow Hearts 1 and Shadow Hearts Covenant during a used game buyout I was doing. I had got a fat check from a temporary job in the government (it pays freaking 20$ an hour). So with my 1K$ to use, I just decided "My game collection looks like it could use some beefing up".

I had bought about twenty used games or so, and out of them all... well, To give you a hint. I try to classify my games in two sections. Played-through/unplayed, alphabetically. SH has it's own space.

the ending in SH2 is really hard to continue due to the story and the ending. In one ending Yuri looses all memories, in the other he dies. But wethever ending you get his contempt with his fate so it would be hard building anything on that. So I'm against you're idea. If anything, they should remake the game.

You already know what happened to Yuri & Alice at the end of part 2. Yuri dies to save his soul from being destroyed and ends up being with Alice in afterlife, but also at the very end you see Yuri's wish was to go back to the very night he met Alice right before the train incident with Albert. I thought it was a good fitting end, but of course fans such as us want more. I say leave it at that so this way they don't make a part four centering around Yuri and Alice again destroying the game.

Well from what i remember the story director of shadow hearts said the canonical path of the shadow hearts games was SH1>bad>SH2>good>SH1>good>SH3.

This would explain at least why roger doesn't reference yuri in 3.

Also i think a SH4 is impossible, the company that made the SH series no longer makes games.

Actually, the order goes SH1 Bad ending, SH2 Good ending, SH1 Good ending. That is how the story of Yuri and Alice plays out. They don't need to make another game, the whole thing is self contained.

@ShinAisuru in the official guide (Japanese) the director says that Yuri goes back in time to the beginning of SH1, this time with a chance to save Alice (with his knowledge of everyone's intentions and the future to be), this isn't the afterlife, as evidenced by the fact Karin also goes back too and meets Ben to then become Yuri's mother. Shadow Hearts 3 is a whole new game entirely. Well story wise. Nor Yuri or Alice make an appearance. Only people you will see from the previous shadow hearts here is Roger Bacon, Lenny, Keith (Silver Bat), Joachim (Gold Bat), and thats it i believe. Shadow Hearts 3 was a weak game to me tho. I just couldn't get into it for some reason.

I have part two lying around here somewhere. I ended up playing it before I finished the first one (working on doing that now), and ruined the important parts lol. I haven't beaten either, though.
