When any future children of mine are Christened I am ordering my husband that once the water is poured onto the baby's head; he is to turn around; raise the baby into the air singing this
Two years ago, my class and I (I was 14) watched the Lion King, because it was the last day of school. The teacher saw our faces and asked why we were crying at the beginning of the movie.
Omg, can't you understand teacher ? It's such an emotional and beautiful movie, and it reminds all of our childhood when we use to watch Disney movies ! :3 Anyway, I saw the Lion King Musical and it was awesome ! :B I just want to have Old disney back !
I fucking cried when mufasa died. and again when Simba saw him in the clouds, and he was sayin "don't leave me". Saw the movie for the billionth time yesterday, and it gets more emotional everytime I watch it.
For awhile, I thought the line "Through despair and hope" was "Through despair and pall" ("pall" meaning gloom or dread). That word still makes a bit more sense to me than "hope", because the point of the whole chorus seems to be largely ABOUT having hope already. Just strikes me as a tad redundant. Plus, "pall" would rhyme with the previous line.
But I'm REALLY nitpicking here. To me, this song is one of Disney's absolute finest. I'd never want anyone thinking that I think otherwise.
@TheDisneyfanatic99 ahahahhahahahhahaha im 16 and i still do that to my dog. he seriosly looks like simba i so regret not calling him after my fav movie! but i sing it to him and hold him up hehe
I was born the year this movie came out (1994) and my mom went to see it the first day it came came out, with me (haha I know, probably not the safest idea, but hey I'm not deaf yet!). All I can say is that DAMN---even my 6-month-old self had good taste in movies!
@JohnHaloWarrior95 it is Zulu but I dn't think it's got anything to do with the pop sound coz a few more Southern African languages have that pop sound , by the way ,we call the click sound :)
@DisneySongsLover and @independen1998 it is Zulu and it's spoken by at least 20 million black people in Southern Africa mainly in South Africa and Zimbabwe .. Ingonyama nengwe'enamabala = it's a lion and a cheetah not a tiger.... We don't have tigers in Africa...:) and oh , Simba is Swahili for lion ,everything else is pretty much Zulu!!! Am proud to be African!!!
The stage show makes this song so muhc more moving. In college Someone will just start humming it and in a second or two the whole college commonroom roars with it :D
was on the bus on my home and a guy got on the bus and literally sat down and all i heard was "NAAAAAAAAAAANNNNTTSSSS INNNGGONNNNYAAMMMAA BAAGIIIITTHHII BABBBBAAAA!!!!" I never clapped so hard in my live then began singing "the circle of life....."
@DisneySongsLover race, i don't know but i know where the main area's are! tanzania, uganda, kenya. and i bet swahilli, zulu there is a major chance!!!! XD i don't know
@DisneySongsLover In the 1994 film The Lion King, in the "Circle of Life" song, the phrases Ingonyama nengw' enamabala (English: A lion and a leopard come to this open place), Nants ingonyama bakithi Baba (English: Here comes a lion, Father) and Siyonqoba (English: We will conquer) were used. In some movie songs, like "This Land", the voice says Busa leli zwe bo (Rule this land) and Busa ngothando bo (Rule with love) were used too.
They are speaking Zulu, one of the 11 languages of South Africa
Boaz High School Grad Class 2011 performed this song during homecoming week....we ended up winning the contest for all the Disney songs performed and the entire week of games & the float building. Class of 2011.......nuff said! Go Pirates!

i busted out in science class singing this...it was first period biology and it was 7:15 in the morning. Not only did my teacher look at me funny, my best friend joined in with me.
i took my little cousins to watch The Lion King in theaters. i swear i was more excited than they were :) haha it was funny the parent that were sitting next to us were laughing at me. i just kept on smiling and laughing :D
i got kicked out of the movie theater for singing this outloud. thumbs up if you want me to show up as the monkey to the movie theater and sing this outloud again
Absolutely fantastic! I remember singing this in an assembly with my class once and I remember the rest of the school lapping it up. And why not? It's cushty!

The lion king was my childhood, everything about it is a part of me. The lion king 2 was a great story as well, some of my favorite songs are in that movie. I wonder why they don't do a next episode to it, and no, not 1 1/2, because it was good, and funny, but it wasn't really a sequel. I want to see what happens next, with simba, kovu, nala and kiara, I want to see what's next in the story. Anyone agree?

@CrazyHermit I know how you feel. I got bitched at for quoting the movie as it was playing. I didn't realize I was being so loud. XD;

I would hold up my dog and sing this but she weighs like 40 pounds! And I can't lift that! So I just do it with stuffed animals!

remember cheering on Simba when he fought Scar. I remember booing at Ursela, when she took Ariels voice. I remember fighting the Huns side by side with Mulan. I remember the wind through my hair, running by Pocahontas. I remember being locked in the Beast's castle. I remember laughing and having fun with Mickey and his friends. I don't remember watching Teen Drama on stupid Disney Channel. Copy and paste this to all you favorite Disney Videos, and let's start a revolution. W. Disney 4ever

Whatever languge they're singing in, the word for "Awesome" in it is pronounced "DisneySongsLover". This has to be true!
