  • @WolfOfPower123 yeah

  • When any future children of mine are Christened I am ordering my husband that once the water is poured onto the baby's head; he is to turn around; raise the baby into the air singing this

  • Excellent video

  • Two years ago, my class and I (I was 14) watched the Lion King, because it was the last day of school. The teacher saw our faces and asked why we were crying at the beginning of the movie.

Omg, can't you understand teacher ? It's such an emotional and beautiful movie, and it reminds all of our childhood when we use to watch Disney movies ! :3 Anyway, I saw the Lion King Musical and it was awesome ! :B I just want to have Old disney back !

  • I fucking cried when mufasa died. and again when Simba saw him in the clouds, and he was sayin "don't leave me". Saw the movie for the billionth time yesterday, and it gets more emotional everytime I watch it.

  • For awhile, I thought the line "Through despair and hope" was "Through despair and pall" ("pall" meaning gloom or dread). That word still makes a bit more sense to me than "hope", because the point of the whole chorus seems to be largely ABOUT having hope already. Just strikes me as a tad redundant. Plus, "pall" would rhyme with the previous line.

But I'm REALLY nitpicking here. To me, this song is one of Disney's absolute finest. I'd never want anyone thinking that I think otherwise.

  • One of the most epic songs ever!

  • @agwebkinz11 agreed sista!!!

  • @chilltownhill6 Thanks!

  • who sings the song?

  • Still don't understand the beginning, hahahahaha

  • I used to sing this song to my dog when I was little, but I didn't know the words so I made up some:

    The Circle of Life.

    We all must die.

    The old and the young

    The circle of life.

The I would hold her up like Simba

  • @TheDisneyfanatic99 ahahahhahahahhahaha im 16 and i still do that to my dog. he seriosly looks like simba i so regret not calling him after my fav movie! but i sing it to him and hold him up hehe

  • @cassieXroboX I had to give away my dog and my other one is too fat to hold up.

  • @JohnHaloWarrior95 it is Zulu but I dn't think it's got anything to do with the pop sound coz a few more Southern African languages have that pop sound , by the way ,we call the click sound :)

  • @DisneySongsLover and @independen1998 it is Zulu and it's spoken by at least 20 million black people in Southern Africa mainly in South Africa and Zimbabwe .. Ingonyama nengwe'enamabala = it's a lion and a cheetah not a tiger.... We don't have tigers in Africa...:) and oh , Simba is Swahili for lion ,everything else is pretty much Zulu!!! Am proud to be African!!!

  • @Dutchladystrawberry same here! same here!

  • i wanna sing this in a school assembly so badly...

  • Everytime I hear this I just start crying. It's so powerful!

  • @xAlaskaCandy zulu im pretty sure :)

  • The stage show makes this song so muhc more moving. In college Someone will just start humming it and in a second or two the whole college commonroom roars with it :D

  • was on the bus on my home and a guy got on the bus and literally sat down and all i heard was "NAAAAAAAAAAANNNNTTSSSS INNNGGONNNNYAAMMMAA BAAGIIIITTHHII BABBBBAAAA!!!!" I never clapped so hard in my live then began singing "the circle of life....."

this song brings people together anywhere :)

  • i remember when my dad took me, my brother, and my mom to see this :) i was 4. it was (and still is) effin' EPIC! :D

  • ME : Nants ingonyama bagithi baba Sithi uhhmm ingonyamaaaaaaaaaa

    Classroom: AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!! *kid falls*

    teacher:MARISSA SHUT UR MOUTH!!

    ME: (((.O

  • every time we watch an animal video i start singing this song and every one laughs and then my tacher tells me to shut up

  • @xAlaskaCandy the theme song is zulu

  • Do ads have a circle of life? Do they die eventually?

  • I think my sacred scripture teacher is obsesed with this song... or Lion King... or both. I'd don't mind because so am I ;)

  • I recently went to see Lion King at the theatre, it was amazing

  • PINK PAJAMAS, PENGUINS ON THE BOTTOM!!! XD ahaha thats all I hear in the background as she sings (0:34)

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg

lolz... for me it sounds like "iguana hanging with obama" xD

  • @Dottherabbitrulz HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg oh common :) It's Pink Llamas Penguins in Pajamas :) Get it right :)

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg LOL. yeah I guess it does kind of sound like that

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg I hear 'pink pajama, pink pajama bottoms' :P

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg lol so true

  • @WiTh0uTy0u3dg No. Penguins in PAJAMAS of course!

  • iLove how i can understand these songs cause im african ^.^

  • Translated:

Nants ingonyama bagithi baba = There comes a lion

Sithi uhhmm ingonyama = Oh yes, it's a lion

Nants ingonyama bagithi baba = There comes a lion

Sithi uhhmm ingonyama = Oh yes, it's a lion

Siyo Nqoba = We're going to conquer

Ingonyama nengw' enamabaal = It's a lion and a tiger

    Hope that helps. ^^

  • @DisneySongsLover that did help a lot thanks lol

  • @DisneySongsLover What is the name of the language and its race

  • @independen1998 It's either Swahili or Zulu as for race I'm not to sure.

  • @DisneySongsLover I think it's Zulu because the Zulu alphabet actually has a letter that requires that pop sound to pronounce properly.

  • @DisneySongsLover race, i don't know but i know where the main area's are! tanzania, uganda, kenya. and i bet swahilli, zulu there is a major chance!!!! XD i don't know

  • @DisneySongsLover It's Zulu and Ingonyama nengw' enamabaal = A lion and a leopard come to this open place.

Makes more sense as tigers don't live in Africa.

  • @DisneySongsLover if I remember properlly it was Swahili

  • @DisneySongsLover It's probably Swahili, considering all the main characters' names are Swahili.

  • @DisneySongsLover its swahili

  • @independen1998 im pretty sure its swahili but i cant remember the race

  • @independen1998 it sounds like afracan language

  • @WolfOfPower123 which one

  • @DisneySongsLover So where's the tiger in the movie? =P lol. That's what I'd like to know xD

  • @DisneySongsLover In the 1994 film The Lion King, in the "Circle of Life" song, the phrases Ingonyama nengw' enamabala (English: A lion and a leopard come to this open place), Nants ingonyama bakithi Baba (English: Here comes a lion, Father) and Siyonqoba (English: We will conquer) were used. In some movie songs, like "This Land", the voice says Busa leli zwe bo (Rule this land) and Busa ngothando bo (Rule with love) were used too.

They are speaking Zulu, one of the 11 languages of South Africa

  • @DisneySongsLover Wrong. Pink Llamas Penquin in Pajama's of course ;)

  • at 0:49 what do those words mean?

  • I remember cheering on Simba when he fought Scar. I remember booing at Ursela, when she took Ariels voice. I remember fighting the Huns side by side with Mulan. I remember the wind through my hair, running by Pocahontas. I remember being locked in the Beast's castle. I remember laughing and having fun with Mickey and his friends. It's a beautiful African-ish song here. In my experience when a group of people hear African music, everybody just jumps up and dances. :P

Oh, and I love ALL languages! It sounds so... So... Awesome! ^w^

  • I held my god daughter in the air when she was first born and sang this :D

  • Absolutely fantastic! I remember singing this in an assembly with my class once and I remember the rest of the school lapping it up. And why not? It's cushty!

  • i love the african beginning

  • The lion king was my childhood, everything about it is a part of me. The lion king 2 was a great story as well, some of my favorite songs are in that movie. I wonder why they don't do a next episode to it, and no, not 1 1/2, because it was good, and funny, but it wasn't really a sequel. I want to see what happens next, with simba, kovu, nala and kiara, I want to see what's next in the story. Anyone agree?

  • @spideykoonrulz i totally agree!!

  • <<waiting for the subtitles

  • Possibly the most famous disney song ever.

  • Whatever languge they're singing in, the word for "Awesome" in it is pronounced "DisneySongsLover". This has to be true!
