When it comes around to an upgrade, you essentially have two options: 1) Upgrade using the live CD. You lose your data unless you back up. 2) Distribution upgrade; no data loss, but takes a while (about 2 hours).

thanks a lot i am thinking of switching, by the way is this where you install drivers too. lets say for my laptops wifi, is terminal the right choice or simpact manager mind my spelling
