Hello there i saw your video and i wonder how u did the Comic.txt fast? or can you only do it by hand or is it some program because I think its a pain to write

516.cbz:Chapter 516
It will take so much time so any help i can get i would be very glad
Hey, i've added my steps into the video description. Basically the comics.txt is a combination of using command prompt to make a directory of the files and then using a microsoft word trick to add sequential chapter numbers.
There might be faster ways but it's a lot better than manually doing it.
how does it look when u use Calibre to make the CBC file to LFR instead of the epub...and does it work?..i plan on buying a prs650 and i've already converted a vol of manga as a test i did both epub and LFR so far the LFR looks better through the calibre viewer but i dunno how it will fare on the actual sony device
I didn't really do much comparison between the 2 formats. I just noticed that the table of contents didn't work for LRF and decided to go with EPUB. Might need to do some more experimenting but the EPUBs do look great on the reader.
@enlightenedstave thnx i just got it last week and yes it looks great i'm happy with my purchase! tnx again for this vid really helped out my decision!
I've been doing that with the dir command in command prompt. The tricky part was getting it to say Chapter 1, Chapter 2... after each entry to make the table of contents. I ended up using this sequential numbering function in word which does it in a few seconds.
"I've just spent about an hour reading on it so it's definitely fine in portrait mode. It might be a tiny bit too small but I haven't found anything that was too difficult to read"
Ok, but in the worst case, if you found something really hard to read it has zoom, isn't it?
Yeah you can zoom in and look around the page. I've never used it though, been reading manga on the device for a few weeks now and haven't found anything so small I couldn't read it.
Reading your information it sounds quite complicated to get the Manga working on this device... How long does it take to get a chapter or a whole Manga Volume setup and ready to read on the reader?
It takes maybe 30 minutes to get an entire manga converted (not including processing time) . I have gotten a few batch editing programs to turn folders into zips, rename the zips to cbz's and write a table of contents. Once I got the workflow down it was a lot faster, originally it took me hours figuring out what to do.
So it's a bit complicated but I think it's worth it when I can get 200+ chapters to read after half an hours tinkering.
I can't add the mangas organized i changed the fikenames, but when i try to import to the reader it allways show the images in batch on the image folder, no organized
You should convert them to epub format using Calibre before loading them onto the reader. They will then appear as books rather than images and load a lot quicker.
I think you can change zips or cbz files directly to epub for individual chapters but if you want an entire manga with many chapters i suggest trying to make a cbc file (google calibre and cbc) and then converting that to epub.
hey just wondering how it is it read on the 6" display? I was looking to get the 950 when it comes out for the extra inch but looking at this video the 6" seems fine. Is the smaller text blur at all or does the resolution keep up?
I've just spent about an hour reading on it so it's definitely fine in portrait mode. It might be a tiny bit too small but I haven't found anything that was too difficult to read.
I thought of getting the 950 for the extra space but I didn't think it was worth waiting for it, buying overseas and the extra price.
how do the images look on landscape mode?
kuzuni9 2 months ago
unfortunately the resolutions of the original pictures are lowered. the picture becomes blurry with zoom.

great ebook, I just wish that the screen was bigger

You gotta admit the SONY eREADER has a really beautiful screen. If they weren't sold out world wide I'd have one :/

How is it reading manga on it? Is it straining on the eye and are the texts too small or is it okay? Is it comfortable?
You seem to have a positive view of it, so I was wondering because I'm thinking of getting one.

Does it support high capacity SD cards (SDHC )?
4zion4life 1 year ago
@4zion4life
Apparently it supports SDHC up to 32gb.
I've only used a 2gb and 4gb memory stick pro duo and they work fine too.

you can use a batch file to make a .txt list of files in a folder
