Apples and oranges- no need to get competetive. There's no one right way to do "real" burlesque, and Dita is way too skinny for some of us, despite her obvious talent.

Dita doesnt do burlesque, she is a stripper. This is not burlesque, its stripping. Burlesque is a show that featured strippers, the stripper/lewd dancer was taken out of burlesque. if there's no comedian or other variety acts then its just a girly show.

Burlesque is just a nice exotic word to use instead of striptease because America is so taboo about strippers. Dita is a strip-tease artist, she doesnt "perform burlesque", i dont see her do comedy.

Well they dont really have much to take off! ;) This is more of a chorus girl dance number. Chorus girls are a part of burlesque but they arent burlesque alone w/out comedy. When the comedians faded out in the 50's/60s thats when Burlesque got a bad wrap being solely identified as a girly show w/strippers, thats where pole dancers came from.

Oh and for the record, there is no shame in lewd dancing. I think they did a great job.

i dont see/hear of too many comedians in new burlesque. the top and second bananas of burlesque were a good way to clean your palette between each act of dancers and strippers back in the heyday.

Milton Berle worked in Burlesque as a headlining Comedian. Not too many headlining burlesque comedians out there these days, thats a shame.
