  • cheng-cheng fo sho broskis

  • lol that was some dirty campaign trick. The Kid is like a mini Jesse Helms.

  • Cant say why people are making a big deal about this, after thats how they elect people in minor positions of rural areas.

Maybe is not a perfect democracy but there is an election, only different is those kids don't belong to a political party.

But is very interesting to see how children behave in a democratic process. Is very cute how they start crying after they hurt the girls feeling and then apologize

  • @sichaoxian can't agree you more. I grew up in shanghai and what we usually did was to nominate several kids and vote them to the position they wanted to get. Simple as that! I'm so sick of watching so much faked "terrible facts" about China. These kids are only 8! And ppl are making a big deal out of them? Is that democracy? Is that humane? I'm leaving US cuz democracy is becoming a big global bully.

  • first election of its type for a class monitor held in a school in China"

    WTF?!!

We had elections in secondary school

sometimes we had appted monitor, sometimes we vote. And it was just as simple as that! we vote anonymously. Then there is someone to read out loud the votes in front of everyone else.

at least that is what I had experienced in Beijing (I came to Canada when I was 13, grade 8)

Geez, someone just love to make up ugly stories and rumours about China, assuming they're all brainless

  • So sweet and sad when they are all crying^^

  • So sweet when they are all crying^^

  • Chinese parents of the current generation have spoiled kids.

  • There's a kid at my school who looks like Cheng Cheng. ;] Doesnt act like him but has his face and everything.

  • unfortunately its easier to bully people when you want to keep things together. But true leaders know how to balance assertive, and yet, charismatic behavior. I do not believe that the US's current leadership our "bullies". That is just a naive, yet popular misconception for people who fail to see the good in a government and have a set stereotype of the government

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE SONG THE GIRL WAS PLAYING ON THE FLUTE CALLED???? PLEASE HELPP!!!!!

  • @SuperMakeupstar Butterfly Lovers, or Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai.

  • @SuperMakeupstar Liang and Zhu

  • :( my heart broke at 3:58

  • bullying carries significantly different connotations in different cultures. the american way of persuasion does in fact seem extremely naive to asian folk.

in the US, waiters are all smiles and sweet talk, and you leave them a big tip and feel good about yourself.

in china, you have to yell at a waiter to get him to respect you and take your order. then on the way home, your friends congratulate you on how well you commanded the waiter.

and that is why i'm glad i got the hell out of china.

  • @breninllwyd37 Great , then stay the hell out of China!

  • Stressful and cruel. Wow! Talent show bullying!

  • the chubby kids name is cheng cheng

  • That fat kid is so horrible! He's such an Eric Cartman.

  • He's not horrible. He's a kid, and kids are immature. But deep inside, he's a very determined, ambitious, caring boy who's a natural leader. What's wrong with that?

  • Everything.

And I would hardly call him caring. He showed a distinct lack of concern for others. Real leadership involves empathy. He's a bully.

  • I didn't know determination & ambition are wrong.

Leadership=mix of bullying, persuasion, and understanding/empathy.

If you think that real leaders have to be nice all the time, then you must live in a virtual world.

And did you purposely ignore the part when the kid apologizes and forces his supporters/friends to apologize too? And it's sincere, because they start crying.

So this guy is a leader. He knows how to persuade, but realizes that when he's wrong, he's humble enough to apologize.

  • Crocodile tears!

True leaders have natural authority . It doesn't require bullying at all.

  • You are so naive.

You think the Chairman of the Federal Reserve didn't bully people to vote for policies that benefited him? You think Obama didn't bully? You think George Washington didn't bully people?

Debating with you is like debating with a kid who's lived in a virtual, more ideal world. Really, I'm going to stop responding now. Just don't forget to grow up one of these days.

  • Do you know what bullying means? It's what people who lack authority do to get others to do what they want. There is a wide gulf between a bully and a leader who gets what he wants through persuasion or charisma. No, I don't think Obama or Washington have bullied many people. They wouldn't need to. You want to see bullying, watch FOX news or hang out with Vladimir Putin.

  • @tearitrightup he bought vote by promising people positions in his administration. that's not quite right.

he's the kind of figure who would do anything to get elected. -- career politician.

  • Who says China is not democratic, we just vote like Obama, haha

  • ya, haha (just the haha)
