orla fallon is the reason why i fell in love with celtic woman. but since she left i haven't paid much attention to the others as much anymore but don't get me wrong i still like the others and listen to them from time to time. :)
One of my favorite Irish songs and my very favorite Celtic Woman singer. Can she play the harp or what? That voice is just like heaven, I will miss her and I hope she has gone on to bigger and very rewarding other projects.
I love Celtic harp... though I must admit I'm more a fan of Celtic men- like the Cape Breton style group Kirkmount. Their harpist, Alex Bigney, is amazing.
The sound isn't very well synced....at times it doesn't look like she is actually playing what is heard in the accompaniment....never saw it live, so I don't know...but that is how it looks from where I sit....and I play harp....oh well
Yes, she is a good player. I just have seen other songs where she has been "playing" the accompaniment and it really was the pedal harper in the pit....why have a world class harper play harp on stage when no one will hear her? just saying....
I have only seen it on Celtic Woman....some big shows do that. I have a friend who is a piper who had to mime his performance every night so that each show would be "the same."
And you are right...why have a world class singer and harper "mime" her song is mind boggling to me...maybe they do a master recording that everyone "syncs" too...who knows. All I know that as a musician myself, I would find that maddening. If I am wrong, let me know, but that is what I have observed.
She's incredible. I never heard a more emotional interpretation of carrickfergus. Brings me to tears immediately. I'm so glad i could see Celtic Woman in Frankfurt (Germany) this september !!
Hi Rose, yes i'm lucky. Especially when i heard some weeks before the concert that i could watch and listen to Lisa Kelly who had returned to Celtic Woman just before the start of the European tour. It was awesome. Pure emotions. They did the complete setlist of "A New Journey". And some additional songs. And all artists could see that the german fans love them very enthusiastic, like the US fans do !! I'm sure you can visit them during the spring tour in your country !
Proud to be from Carrickfergus! :D

Wow! I'm surprised to hear that. I have a friend who is a professional harpist who knows her and she says she plays very well.
