Am I the only one who is going to go into a conniption if I don't find Arctic Rose by her? My mom used to sing it to me, but I've never actually heard it sung by Susan Aglukark. Heh heh. Kinda weird, but still. ^_^
I have been searching for this song since it came out in the 90's. All I could remember was the tune and a few words of the chorus and it was driving me crazy cause nothing would pop up on Google. Anyways, I was camping out down at Occupy Toronto for a week and a half and I randomly came across this sign that had the chorus lyrics written down on it, and then I started crying and laughing, cause I realized that these were the lyrics to the long lost song that I have been searching decades for.
Ah, so you were one of those pricks illegally encamped at our St. James Park? Moved your ass out of there yet? I do hope the police drag your asses out of there kicking and screaming. We have had enough. Go get a job.
@CanuckFascist Oh there is so much irony in this comment that I'm not going to waste my time to point out. I have much more important things to do, like more partying and protesting St. James Park to piss you guys oof. You think you got rid of us, but this is only temporary, we will be back, and in greater numbers, and this time we will be TWICE as loud.
I Met Susie 2 x...I am lucky, she is a sweet in person as her stage persona. After I met her found out we had a friend in common (that's why I say Susie). 2 of her songs deeply affect me this is 1st and foremost and second is Hi Nana....both are songs of anti racial and friendship......both made me cry tonight....:)

i worked with natives in nothern ontario and let me tell you they are the some of the greatest ppl on this earth i have native history deep in my family and i love to lern more about native history and love the ppl and the welcome you feel
In elementary school we were forced to sing this song OVER and OVER again. Every assembly, every multicultural day, every grad, every special presentation, every guest speaker, on random days over the intercom and any other occasion we had this song was played. I must have sung it 100 times. I hadn't thought of this song since I graduated from elementary 5 years ago. I still remember all the lyrics.
My class did this song in front of the whole school when I was in Grade 6 (1997/98). We had to wear masks, play instruments, do drama, etc. Now 13-14 years later I still love this song
Does anyone have this song in full, and hoping in HD? I'd love to see it in that way. I remember so well when this song first debuted around '94 or '95, and I've loved it so much since! It's one of those real patriotic, anthem-like hits you hear every now and then like this year was K'naan's "Wavin' Flag" which is pretty good too. But not many compare much with Susan here. Those were the days!
@benchicken36 I thought it was more Powwow type music, but nonetheless, still an awesome song, 15 years later, everytime I hear it, it makes me wanna dance, and not to many songs do that. I would SO pay any amount of money to see her live in my hometown
@robohobo thoubh it was not part of the opening /closing Ceremonies it wased during the Olympics by the Surrey Celebreation dance team at the Surrey Celerbreation site
can you get the video of 'hina na ho' of susan's i really love that video. i think her videos speak for all people on the earth despite colour, language. etc. we are all equal.
I remember seeing this and other Native music videos on "Heartbeat Alaska" dozens of years ago (which is still on the air, but not in Fairbanks anymore).
i had to sing this in gr 5 man that was a while ago the teacher made the whole class preform in front of the whole school it was hell!!!! i sucked a signing and it i was so scared up there lol good times
Thanks so much for posting this =) I remember watching it when I was a child, but when I recently tried to find it again even my mother didn't know what I was talking about!
Oh Wow... she lives in Oakville?? cool I was going to ask what she was doing these days... but I guess you could answer that.. I guess she is still touring?
very cool. Weird story i had heard this song in elementary and is very funny i was lip syncing this song and everybody started to like it so i keped on going and would never would have heard this so it is cool
a couple years back my class sang it in an assembly and we found out that a kid in our class knew her because her mom went to school with Susan so we got to see her pics in a yearbook but she wasn't able to come and watch us perform =(
she is beautiful isn't she? We are so lucky that she is sharing her beautiness and her angelic voice. She is very talented and gifted, thank goodness she can share her written songs and sing them. She truly is an Angel.
robohobo..You are so right.. that song would have been perfect for the Olympics. It would have been an amazing song/message to represent Canada.
