Hey im going to thailand this october and im planning to study deeply in thai massage and their spiritual philosphies. I was recommended to learn from pischet in chiang mai and also at elmerald buddha in bangkok. If you have ANY tips to help me out in my journey they would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Awesome video. I'm a Massage Therapist in North Carolina. My practice focuses on Medical and Sports Massage. I'm taking a course in Thai Massage in June and I can't wait. I think it will truly benefit the athletes that come to me. The stretching looks amazing!
@gabytzvi Thank you for your answer, I live in Michigan, are you having a class here anytime soon? If I buy the DVD, will I be able to practice Thai Massage, or Do I still have take the class?
if you buy my DVDs, it will give you a solid start, it might be a little awkward without a "training" but you will make your friends and family super happy just by doing your best.
I will be in michigan in the spring leading thai at Sumit Yoga Kalamazoo.
@Rosibel79 If you are in Michigan talk with Jill Harmon at Yin Thai School of Nuad Borarn in Roanoke IN, or I do hear good things of Chuck Duff in Chicago, though I have never studied with him. Jill is amazing!
@bounce360 wow, thank you so much...i need two contact Jill. Chuck i have seen his videos, seem like a really nice guy and he also tries to teach great things. Pichest has more emphasis on better body positions though...I will look for Jill. Thank you again!!!
@Rosibel79 Training is a must. I have seen someone who injured a client due to poor techniques. You will also need to determine the flexibility of the client. You will need to estimate to the best of the ability of the client. There are dangerous manipulations that are currently banned in certain countries and make sure that your insurance policy cover any possible medical injury claim that might arise from these treatments. Adjustments are also illegal in many western countries.
Seems you are in a very good space the work looks like you are present when your moving. through the quadrants. you are focused and clear about what group of muscles you wanted. THANK YOU FOR THAT DEMO!!not easy being good

I'm a Massage Therapist, do I need a special certification to practice Thai Massage?
Rosibel79 1 year ago
@Rosibel79
you do need a thai massage certificate which you can get at any thai CE course.
i offer a fer in AZ, but they are everywhere now in the US.
if you buy my DVD on EdgeBody Dot Com you will find a full 90 minute sequence that is a step by step and helps beginners.
good luck!!!

That guy getting the work done is pretty flexible, would this be recommended for someone who's not so flexible?

this is good for everyone, though true, you do have to be aware of the level of ROM of your client.
as yoga is good for any "frame" so is thai massage suitable for any "body"
if you are unsure, ask your client to ell you when you have taken them to their "edge"
