I live in southern Georgia, U.S. and on my moms side her maiden name is german, I'm glad to see Germany with its powerful economy today, U.S./Germany forever.

They were permitted to garden, play sports, organize clubs among themselves and they were safe from the war in Europe. Most of them returned to Germany in good health.

Well, what did expect the Allies to do? Berlin was the capitol and nerve center of Nazi Germany - of course it was gonna be a main target. Well, what did expect the Allies to do? Berlin was the capitol and nerve center of Nazi Germany - of course it was gonna be a main target. Remember when that devil Goebbels screamed "Wollt ihr den totalen Krieg?!" and the answer he got back was a deafening roar of "JAAAAAAAAA!" Germany wanted war. Germany started the war. Germany had to be defeated to bring this whole Nazi insanity to an end. It's sad all these beautiful cities were destroyed and civilians killed but there was no way around it.
