  • Looks yummy!

  • im going t use, this type of marinade to flavor a meat for tortilla, never done that before, but ill give it ago anyway :D!

  • i do a very similar recipe to this one when i do fajitas. the only thing i do differently is make marinade in a ziplock bag because you can smush it around easier to move marinade around. i like to do it overnight

  • @westanthony Sounds good!

Glad that all ingredients are easily available in Malaysia, including Malaysian-grown jalapenos, cilantro and colorful bell peppers..thanks for the great recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • i imagine i can use pork and chicken and even tuna as a the meat for fajitas. thank you for the recipe. :)

  • @JacRab25 Yes, you can substitute any of those options in place of the steak--they will be great!

    --Betty :)

  • My name is betty hill, and i love propane

in all serious im making them tonight

  • Greetings from Montreal Québec, Canada: Simply as an FYI: Pre-packaged fajitas spice mix are composed of Chili Powder, Cumin and salt.

  • I use taco seasoning for my fajitas; does that make me a bad person?

  • @64Onion I use whatever I have available for fajitas--which could easily be any of those packaged seasonings--fajita, taco, enchilada--just as long as it gives a good Mexican-style flavor!

    --Betty :)

  • How long do the peppers need to be cooked exactly...?

  • @newyorkfan16 Not long. I cook them along with onions, until the onions are clear and the peppers are tender--about 5 minutes or so.

    --Betty :)

  • yum yum , your husband is one lucky guy

  • two people that disliked this obviously got jalapenos in their eye

  • This morning I purchased all the stuff to make these fajitas. My daughter and I just made them for a EARLY Dinner!!! The hubby asked " yum, What'd you do different" lol Thanx to you Betty!!!!

  • Don't know what's hotter the recipe or you sweet lady! TY for the recipe.

  • you videos always make me so hungry so then i have to go out and buy the ingredients and make it :)

  • Poblano peppers are a great addition to your veggie mix. You MUST put tequilla in that lime-aid. Yumm-0!!!!!

  • @Celie3678 That sounds like good advice! Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • @Celie3678 You're so Awesome!! I don't know why you don't have your own cooking show on network television.

  • hey betty, show me how to prepRE traditional mexican mole, please....i hope u know how

  • reconstituted lime??? concentrated maybe

  • @dvdcrly Reconstituted lime juice is, as the name implies, made by adding water back into concentrated lime juice. Because it's a processed food product, it also requires the flavor to be adjusted in order to maintain a uniform flavor. This is accomplished by adding lime oil that has been extracted from the peel. I hope this clarifies your question.

    ---Betty :)

  • reconstituted lime??? concentrated maybe

  • I like your smile and also your yummy cooking. Cheers from Germany

  • my god !!!!

    eat some thing betty

  • To save time, and to keep your hands from smelling like marinade (particularly if you're working with a really strong marinade), you don't need to work the meat with your hands. Just tossing and gently kneading or massaging the meat using a nice pair of aluminum or stainless steel tongs will actually you the same result; the meat will still be seasoned perfectly.

Oh, and for added flavor, add a bit of tequila (or just beer) during the marinading process for extra tender meat. ;-)

  • make me waffles or ill get over raged >:@

  • hi i'm ''pretty'' Betty. ^.^

  • Really am glad I found this, Betty. I came over from Carol Fitzgerald's video for making guacomole, BTW. I think you do a good job, maybe some glaves for touching the meat would be nice touch, but the presentation was good! (Food prep gloves are available at Sam's for about $10 for 1000 gloves and they are handy at home!!!)

  • @conseler I meant GLOVES (Food prep gloves, available 500 per box). Also, instead of dropping strips piecemeal into the hot oil, might I suggest using a rubber spatula, to get every bit of goody in the bowl and ALSO adds some distance between the hand and the splattering (for safety's sake).

  • Yummy!

  • wow if u was my mom id b round ur house evryday for my tea lol my mom tends to burn food bless her

  • ohh thanks ill look it up right away c:

  • can you make me some brownies? :3

    --Betty :)

  • you should of said how long the beef was in the fridge, i know but most people might not know

  • @ Bora199420 She says at 3:55 - at least 4 hours. I found a demo on videojug, with a slightly different recipe which I usually use saying at least 30 mins, but I like to leave it marinating for about a couple of hours : )

  • @piccadillydave Thanks for responding to this user! I appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • @Bora199420 she says at 3:55 at least 4 hours, but on videojug they say at least 30 mins. I usually keep mine marinating with chicken for about 2 hours : )

  • @Bora199420 You will always find the complete recipes that accompany my videos by clicking "more info" in the right side bar. I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • you can do both but its not good to put them both in one tortilla you can but beef and chicken at the same time is not the way i like it

  • @Bora199420 Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I just made this exactly as she did...and it was FANTASTIC!!! Very delicious and awesome recipe...thank you sooo much, Betty. Looking forward to more of your recipes...keep 'em coming!!!

  • @eatandtravel That's great! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • i love u betty

  • And, I love all of you!

    --Betty :)

  • Another great video. Betty, how do you think this recipe would work with skirt steak? I know it's best for the grill and that's what I intended to do, but I've been sick and probably shouldn't be out in the cold.(Usually I grill rain or shine). I will wait to hear from you before I do anything. I wouldn't want to ruin it. Thanks in advance :-)

  • I think you could use skirt steak without a problem. Be sure to slice against the grain, and you might want to add some tenderizer (no MSG) to insure tenderness. Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Where's the rice and beans?????gotta have rice n beans.

  • That would be good! I usually upload one recipe at a time--It's pretty time consuming to cook the food, edit the video, type the recipe, and answer comments and questions--I'm way behind with all of that now! But your rice and beans idea is great! BTW, I have rice and beans in bettyskitchen--just do a search!

    --Betty :)

  • Having fun with your channel. I love that you put the recipe on the side bar. Looks delish and will be making it this week. Thanks! BTW, I used your Momma's fruit recipe and it was a big hit for my Christmas brunch. Keep em' coming.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope your fajitas turn out great! Thanks for your comment on my mother's fruit salad!

    --Betty :)

  • Awesome Betty, thank you for the tips!!! You are great, God Bless!!

  • Thank you! I'm sorry to be so late in answering your comments!

    --Betty :)

  • WOW!!!! that looks good, I will be trying that but with chicken!!! You're such a lovely lady, you look great, may i ask the secret to staying in shape? :-))

    Best of luck!!!

  • Thanks for your comments! I hope you enjoy the fajitas--they will be great with chicken! I do have a secret to staying in shape. I eat the foods I like, just not too much of anything that has a lot of calories. For example, if I want a slice of rich chocolate cake, I may first eat an entire large apple, and then I have just a little sliver of the cake. I feel full and satisfied. I keep it always in my mind and do it consistently. I also work out 4 times a week and have a positive attitude!

    --B

  • This will be good with chicken! I eat anything I like, but I only eat small portions. I also try to work out at the gym. Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • delicioso

  • Thanks! (!Gracias!)

    --Betty :)

  • Betty You rescue my dinner again! Thanks!

  • You're welcome! I'm glad that you can use the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Maybe a silly request but you have any videos for home made gravy? To be served with beef if that particular is required. :) I started searching videos for dip recipes and now I'm just sitting here watching all your videos lol, some good stuff I have to try.

  • I have made gravy for roast beef, fried chicken, pork chops, sausage, roast turkey, etc. If you do a search for "gravy" in bettyskitchen you will find some of them!

    --Betty :)

  • um .......just read the back of the packet fajita mix.

    wow

    the thickness comes from cornstarch.

just show us how to do it all

orange cheddar .. never seen it

  • Hi! Nice to meet you! I didn't exactly understand all of your comment...If you don't like the ingredients in the fajita package, you can certainly replace them by your own--or just use the marinade I gave you alone. The fajitas will turn out great! The cheddar cheese I used is typically what we have in the states. You probably have white cheddar cheese? That, of course, is fine! Thanks so much for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Your steak sandwich was very tasty! This is the next dish I'm going to try. Your 1/1 already betty lol :) Thanks.

  • Well, I hope that 1/1 number goes higher, like 2/2, 3/3, etc! You will love the fajitas! Thanks for your sweet comment!!!

    --Betty :)

  • Miss Betty.. All I can say is WOW!!! This took me about an hour to make..The marinade gave the meat and extra kick.. Working sometimes doest give me the time to make home cooked meals.. I am so very pleased I can start making my family of 3 deliciouse meals plus it helps me look like I know what Im doing.. this recipe def in my top favorites!!!

    Thank You, Thank You!!!

  • Thanks for your sweet comment! I am so happy that your family liked the fajitas and that you are learning to cook things that are somewhat complicated! You should be very proud of yourself! And I'm sure your family is grateful for all the effort you are putting into having home-cooked meals!

    --Betty :)

  • wow.. that meat looks amazing

i never would have thought to make it juicy with gravy like that

  • It turned out *very* tasty! I hope you get a chance to try it!!! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • TASTY

  • Thanks! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • looks good. did the meat come out tender? i have a hard time getting that sort of meat tender.

  • Yes, it came out very tender. (It was sliced at the supermarket.) I think the marinade helps a lot in tenderizing the meat. I'm sure you will be pleased with it! Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • I just bought another bottle of my favorit hot sauce so this recipe would be great with it.

  • That's wonderful! I hope you enjoy the recipe! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • ooooooooh tasty !

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy this recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • marinade times seem to vary so much, some say 30 mins or even 24 hrs

  • Yeah, I even said you can cook the steak immediately, if you're in a hurry! The best taste is always from the longest marinade time. Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • This looks great -- could that cilantro/olive/lime marinade work with chicken too?

  • Sure, you can make chicken fajitas or steak fajitas with this recipe! Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Wow this really looks delicious! I have never made steak fajitas before but now that you have proved it to be fairly simple I will have to give it a go! Thanks Betty =)

  • It really is pretty simple. (I cheated a bit and got my steak and vegetables already stir-fry sliced!) Thanks for commenting! I hope you try the fajitas--They are very tasty!

    --Betty :)

  • this looks delicious betty , :)

  • Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Yes, it could! I've already suggested that to another viewer. Plus, if you like the Pico de Gallo, it should be almost free of points--so with this meal you get to eat more without adding extra points! Enjoy! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • looks very good! I might try and turn this into a weight watchers meal I think it could be made pretty low in points! :)
