Im excited to see this when it comes out! <3 My friends and I (all of us are straight) made signs and pretty much shut down an encinitas intersection against prop 8. To our surprise when one of my friends and I were leaving before anyone else this family of prop 8 supporters, and with their young children, followed us all the way to our cars trying to provoke us, on film with their camera, to do or say anything. It was so scary :( after that it made me have more of a passion for this cause. :)

I personally believe that many children would be better off with a family like theirs then many families with straight parents. According to the Catholic faith and teachings, marriage was created for one man and one woman. The purpose of marriage is for bonding and procreation. Gay marriage does not allow for bonding. Any kid who has played with legos knows that if the pieces don't fit, it doesn't work. We need to pray for these people who do not understand that what they are doing is wrong.

It doesn't really matter what these people say, same sex marriage will happen sooner or later. It will take time, but I'm sure one day most of the states will approve of it. I'm not for gay marriage, but I'd never vote against it.

I'll never understand why anyone would have a problem with gays. I suppose it's because of the way the hateful people were brought up. Ultimately though, 99% of the time it all comes down to religion. Not just Christianity, but religion in general.

You guys are doing great in your fight to make a difference in our society. But the true fight is in the root causes that are creating these divisions among us. We need to change the world as a whole to truly make any significant change. And treating a wound, that needs stitches, with a band aid, is only going to delay the inevitable. There was a time when marriage was just a contract and the woman was nothing more than property to her husband. There was a time when only white people could get married. The Catholic church would still be free not to recognize or perform gay marriages. Marriage Equality and Religious Freedom are 2 completely different issues. Neither one affects the other.

It doesn't really matter what these people say, same sex marriage will happen sooner or later. It will take time, but I'm sure one day most of the states will approve of it. I'm not for gay marriage, but I'd never vote against it.

I'll never understand why anyone would have a problem with gays. I suppose it's because of the way the hateful people were brought up. Ultimately though, 99% of the time it all comes down to religion. Not just Christianity, but religion in general.
The bible for instance; on so many levels is it conflicted with itself. There's a bunch of stupid rules, like it's okay to hit your woman, or to kill for pride etc. The one stupid rule that still lives on today, is the gay thing. Ridiculous.

Thanks for posting...I can't help but wonder what straight people (the haters) would feel like when denied the right to legally unite with the one they love. Here in South Africa, gay marriage is legal, but my partner is American. Someday we may want to head back to the States, but if gay marriage is not legalized, I guess I will be deported back to SA as our marriage will mean nothing there. I can't imagine. There was a time when marriage was just a contract and the woman was nothing more than property to her husband. There was a time when only white people could get married. Ok so this might make people angry but this is my view point and I have no intention of ever trying to MAKE people adhere to it! Marriage to me is a sacrament there for a religious ceremony. We have a separation of church and state, I say civil unions for everyone and leave "Marriage" up to the the religious sects of our country. On that note until then: Prop 8 and DOMA are discriminatory, an appalling stamp of approval of dehumanizing hatred by our government, and needs to be repealed!

I just wish we lived in a world where people could understand that we arn't all the same but that is OKAY! I came out to my mom about 3 months ago and slowly told everyone in my family branching from her; at times it was very hard, sometimes to the point that I just wished I never said anything to anyone.
