Jill will be stepping down from 11Alive's morning anchor position at the end of next month (August, 2011)... I'll miss seeing her. Chris is still there, and still a very good weather forecaster/meteorologist. Lot of great memories.
@jwgreek8606 11Alive News Today might've been on since 1980 when they traded the Alphabet (ABC) for peacock feathers (NBC) and also, this year, 'XIA is celebrating their 30th year as an NBC affiliate and being owned by Gannett.
I respectfully disagree about this opening. I liked it. But I have a good reason. I lived in the Macon area and we got Atlanta TV on cable back then and trust me on this one. This was far better than what we had locally at the time, which was only 2 news stations. We have three local stations with news now and ironically, its the NBC station that does a "weather first" segment before the start of the newscast.
You can see it in one of my videos as I do have one that includes the local open
just rolled on it one morning for no real reason. I keep finding things as I go through my VHS collection, though summer has put the breaks on that activity. I'll pick it back up again when it's cold.
Did Jill say "11NEWS"?

@videonut33 She did. They went about a year as 11 News while the station stayed as 11Alive. They were back to 11Alive News by the Olympics.

Heh, this was a long time ago. I doubt 11Alive would hold a "live celebration" from South Cobb Drive today!

11 Alive news today must have been on as long as WXIA was an NBC affiliate or did it come on when it was still an ABC affiliate?

I worked with Chuck for three years at WNEG 32 in Toccoa, GA. He just retired from there recently.

All of the stations in the country now have those, except Canada.
