  • by the way---beautiful--simply freakin beautiful!!!

    V

    Leader of Free World

  • HI,

was wondering if anyone is allowed to do Star Trek clips?

    Vanya

  • Dude, that was awesome. I have to say, the new trek kinda let me down. It was full of action, but not Kirk-style action. More like skywalker.

  • 800 people on that ship?? Kirks ship only had a tad over 400 during the original series...

  • WE really need to stop acknowledging that this crap ever happened in 09 lol.

  • OH! and btw...i liked the new movie and great job on the video....

  • Omg, why are some people so passionate about a 60's tv show??? talk about living in the past....and yes i know ill be getting lots of hate replies....apparently u cant say anything about start trek without getting trekkies all upset.....

  • @crow2x You can if you make legitimate arguments. "Because it's old" is not a legitimate argument.

  • @crow2x Heh, you ask "why"? How about "why not?"

Heh! What, you not like SOMETHING, even something crappy that you might like (Transformers, maybe)? ??? I mean if there's not anything that YOU'RE passionate about, then it must suck to be you, as in ULTRA-BORING and NO FUN!

Are you really gonna go on about how great that is, man? :| Aw God, I hope not!

  • As a stand alone Sci Fi film the new Trek film was good, not great but good. The problem is though that it was not a stand alone film it was an addition to the Star Trek Universe, not only was it mass produced "flashy, shinny, shinny" rubbish, it also destroyed an entire time line and created universe for the sole purpose of making money. It essentally destroyed the life work of Gene Roddenberry and others for the sole purpose of getting more box office views!

  • Ah--Real Trek is SOOO much better!

  • lol the bartender shot with the tribbles, just awesome! good job on this vid!

  • It's a great movie, I don't see why everyone hates it.

  • @DazzieMetallikat

Because it eraces all of Trek history.

  • @LovingScrubbies

    To you. : P

  • Well, the bartender with all the tribles and the "sort of" at the end made it funny. In between, however, it was really nice. Well synched, nice scenes.. true fan of ST will appreciate it.

  • How cool! Very ingenious; I really like what you've put together.

(I, too, was disappointed in the new movie--too corny for my taste. Cinematography was awesome; yes, things have changed a great deal since TOS.)

  • Epic lol

  • LOL!

  • very nice, like it a lot. People just need to stop thinking TOS was the holy grail... it was Gene Roddenberry expressing his story. Just as story-telling goes, when the original story-teller is gone, others tell the same stories in their own way - so the stories live on. Otherwise the old versions will be overlooked by new generations.

  • don't screw around with star trek you blooded bastards

  • T.O.S 4 LIFE BITCH

  • join the military and defend the corporations which own america

  • @lowaces

    XD

  • OK this is crazy but I teared up a bit as I watch this. Somehow the clips go very well with the soundtrack. And the ending with the Guardian of Forever? Ace!

  • I hated the new movie too. It was a big slap in the face to true trek fans, in an attempt to cater to the mass movie idiots who don't really understand Star Trek.

  • man I love T.O.S why is that it is so 60's but so timeless I love it and I was born in 84!

  • Gawd, I hated the new movie. It didn't make any sense. Bad acting, bad science, bad storytelling. Bad, bad, bad.

    But this was hilarious!

  • Can not wait to see star trek 2012. let see howmany damage the will do lol.

  • "STAR TREK, sort of" lol

  • that... was... AWESOME!! nicely done!

  • This trailer is so epic...

  • I can watch this over and over again.

  • very funny! keep it up!

  • great job!!

  • Star Trek Sort of, rofl! nice dude5/5 subbed

  • lmao "sort of"

That was really well done! :D

  • if you have any objections feel free to tell me and why you object

  • This movie takes place in a parallel universe. In travelling through the black hole, they not only went back in time but travelled to a parallel universe. The benefits of a parallel timeline is that the Star Trek universe can be altered without alltering the primary universe of TOS, TNG and DS9. Star Trek TOS episodes can now be rewritten/changed in the next movies:

  • When I said they I mean Spock and Nero who travelled through a black hole.

  • Original is only one.

The true Star Trek is only one.

    May gods bless Gene Roddenberry.

    May gods bless Matt Jefferies.

    May gods bless the Enterprise.

    May gods bless Star Trek.

  • @09kolmann it's not a parallel universe, it's an alternate time line because the bad guy went into the past and changed things.

  • @1devo6587 it didn't just ruined the timeline it ruined Star Trek. I hope I'll forget quickly I ever watched that crap

  • "The wait is over"

Damn cool! This would be the greatest Star Trek movie! xD

  • Good editing. Would have given 5 stars but...the"sort of" at the end killed the video. You placed good shots of TOS, but then, it ends as if the TOS isnt true Star Trek.

  • @epagod1

Thank you but you missed the point. "Sort of" refers to the new Trek, not TOS...

  • rofl.. Sort of xD

  • So you meant that the new Star Trek was bad?Well,it has new cast in it so it's totally different than TOS,but i think it's a good movie anyway.Keep in mind that TOS was made in 60's,a lot has changed in movies since then...

  • @TheEloeo

Yes, they are now tailored for the dumber viewers.

  • I'd say younger. Now even horror movies are PG-13.Lots of movies are made to promote merchandise and earn as shitloads of cash.Paramount in this case is leading:Star Trek,Terminator Salvation,G.I Joe and of course Transformers.

  • @Sopmylo

I know it's a bit late. But when i read this, i just thought: YEAH, thats sums it so up :-D

  • @Sopmylo

Really? So you like the cheesy dialogue of the '60s?

Don't get me wrong, TOS was groundbreaking in many ways. But it was not made for the hyper intellectual crowd.

  • @ccpickre There was no problem with the majority of the dialog that I ever heard in that show. On the contrary, I kinda like the somewhat-deadpan seriousness of the dialog. But this kind of "straight" acting was quite common in that era, not just in Star Trek only.

If you don't know what I mean, have a peek at some other Drama TV shows of that time, and you should be able to tell.

Yeah, I actually like that kinda stuff. It's straight and cool. I wish more productions today were like that.

  • @TheEloeo it had a way stupider plot than Star Trek V (which I like) but I guess it doesn't matter when you have explosions lens flares a cheesy death-birth scene and Quinto and Saldasa licking each other in the turbolift and the transporter toom. Jesus if they wanted to go stupid why didn't they do it with some worthless material? Why Star Trek of all things? Shame on these greedy amateurs

  • @sondano The plot made absolutely no sense. Why would Nero spend 25 years plotting revenge against Spock over a natural disaster? Let's say a volcano erupted & burned down my house, then I spend the next 25 years hunting down the rescue worker who didn't get there in time. This makes Nero look far more STUPID than threatening.

  • @fecxor It makes even less sense because Abrams and his writers didn't think logically when writing Spock. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one" The Spock we've known for 40+ years would have insisted that the timeline be restored. The billions that died when Vulcan was destroyed deserve nothing less. This elder Spock knows where the guardian is, knows how to do a time warp. He would have convinced young Kirk & Spock it was essential!

  • @TinFoilChefDotCom Yea. I still find it hard to believe that after refusing to appear in Generations because of his disapproval of the script, Nimoy would turn around & appear in an even dumber movie.

  • @fecxor Since you fell asleep during the movie, you may have missed the part where Spock promised to help Romulas and wasn't fast enough. Nero lost his pregnant wife, because he trusted Spock; a Vulcan that years ago would have been killed on sight by Romulans. So he took his anger out on him. Yeah he's stupid and mad, that's what most villains are. But Nero & the Narada was a better movie enemy than most Trek films (Think mutated satellite & alien whale probe).

  • @sondano Copy / Paste. QFT.

  • Now THIS is what the Trek XI trailer should've been. They should hire you to do the actual films (instead of a certain director who doesn't understand what the spirit of the franchise is about). Excellent job.

    Live Long and Prosper.

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's true, the Gauardian's voice at the end was stellar!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that was awesome!!

  • Let's not forget the curse of the Star Trek movies. All odd numbered ones are bad, the even numbered ones are great. This has been true since the first movie in 1979. That means ST 12 will be friggin awesome. So cheer up everybody!

  • I miss classic Star Trek and the "Prime" universe. The new movie was fine but I hated how it just seemed to destroy the timeline most fans knew and loved just to get the interest of the popcorn generation who will probably forget the all about the new movie a month or so after they have seen it. The one thing I did really liked in the new movie was this music and it goes very well with the classic clips.I think this would have made a better movie ;)

  • Actually, the prime universe still goes on. STO and possible tv series will take over the storyline for that because there's no indications that there will ever be a TV series from the Abramsverse Star Trek.

  • Yeah I have seen the STO screen shots and video. It looks like it will be very good game. They even have explained the parallel universe Nero creates in their time line chart. I hope you are right and we do see another series set in the prime universe. As a big fan of all things Star Trek, I liked how all the main narrative of all the Star Trek series were set in the same timeline and time travel stories always sorted themselves out.

  • ... This newly created timeline just seems to have added to the confusion for people who dip in and out of Star Trek. I love this video though!

  • Fantastic Job!!!

  • The Guardian's voice at the end pushed it over the top! 5 Stars!!!

  • I like the title at the end... lol.

  • Wow! That was just amazing! Great timing of clips and what not! I had a little chuckle listening to Eric Bana's voice for Mark Lenard ^.^ 5 stars!

  • If we could keep taking movies from the elements and bits and peices of the original series, they would still be better than that crap movie JJ Abrams relaesed!

  • no.

  • okay that was really good.

  • Very nice! Gave me chills especially with the Guardians voice at the end.

  • awesome

  • this was very imaginative! nice work!

  • Full of win :D

  • Shatner dedication in great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at amazon!

  • Great job!

  • well as for the impact of the destruction of "one" littel ship ... we all learned the lesson in "yesterday's enterprise" from TNG and how different some things would've played out (!)

  • We decided to the obvious one script for the movie.

As you watch another well known sc-fi movie named "Stargate Atlantis" the characters there placed weren't recongizable right away. The fans of Stargate adapted quickly like the Borg and then loved the crew.

Anyway, Spock was and always be half human, so in the past was more agressive. This was the first step in achievement to the continuation. We encourage ourself to fullfill Gene's dreams.

  • love it! :)

  • LOL! Nice!

  • I don't know...I hate to sound like a fanboy, but you have shown that..even if the acting was a little overboard in the original series, it was so much more engaging.

Especially Kirk in the chair. Large and in charge. Just awesome :D

  • I hate to ask again...but what episode is the clip at 1:35 from?

  • Balance of Terror

    I gues

  • That was awesome!

  • great work!

  • YES!!!

If they were smart, the '09 film would have been less glamor, and more true to the original feel (at least of the first fix films).

  • the glamour was great i think it was important to be wowing cause that was how it was for this young kirk whod never wanted to be captain, as opposed to the older kirk who had been in starfleet or wanted it all his life. chris's kirk kind of got thrown into it ( like the new generation of little kids were dragging into the awesome of TOS star trek)

  • This new kirk is nothing more than one great cliché. He is someone, who lost as small kid dad, serving in military (sort of), and when he growed up, he was street-fighter who did only problems. Dad's friend from military visit him, talk to him and from this problem kid without dad become the only-one who fix everything.

If that is not cliché, what is?

  • I completely agree with you, Niusereset. Kirk could have been so much more interesting.

  • is english your first language?

i would agree except that the old captain was a cliche too, the epic hero with a few structural flaws that made him great. what i find interesting is that this is a character study, that even someone as great as kirk could spiral into a nobody without guidance

  • »ItHurtsWhenISleep:

Yeah, the beginning of that movie and his career should be less like B-movie about problem kid, street fighter who save the day.

    »tiemedown:

You kade a good point, original Kirk was also a kind od cliché. But... he just was a hero from the beginning to end. The new-one remids me b-movies about problem-kid-hero.

There is no study, because it was an alternate universe. Nothing, what we saw, happened to the true Kirk. Including dad's death.

    English isn't my first language

  • this was a study in the premise that environment can shape personality. kirk who is naturally a leader and a true hero is a mess ( and doesnt seem to win the hand to hand combats or get the girls) because of one defining moment in his history. it is interesting that the loss of one person changed kirk so much the two personalities didnt even vaguely mirror each other in the beginning. i mean older kirk never really was a kid, he was always ready to be the leader, this kirk was s00 young

  • In the TOS episode Shore Leave is created an image of Kikrs schoolmate Finigan, who made to young cadet Kirk witful jokes and young Kirk couldn't defeated him (almost like chicane).

We did not see that Kirk, we know him only from tellings. But this one doesn't seem like the instant hero.

  • In another episod (Obsession) we hear about lieutant Kirk, who never forgive himself irresoluteness in hand-phaser firing which caused death of several men. Doesn't matter that quicker fire would not make it different, he never foroget and never forgive himself.

  • and i also like that he doesnt save the day himself. our kirk made a gun out of bamboo and rocks, this kirk is always getting beaten up, never gets the girl, makes huge tactical errors and only seems to get himself together after old spock gives him a goal ( and a fatherly pat on the brain). spock, who before, was a tragic lonely figure, now has the girl, the respect of his father and an old version of himself keeping him from ruining his life. this universe seems spock biased :)

  • which meant that he has the same sort of self defeating personality but this kirk never gave up, he became a star fleet captain, he was a man of proper channels ( he even taught classes which is how he met gary mitchell) he was a disciplined person whos greatest flaw was fear of loss ( 'im losing command!'). new kirk however is utterly self defeating, he has no drive, he doesnt push through problems, he seems almost masochistic its who kirk would have been without the people in his life

  • I did not say that these diferences in personality aren't real. What I said that his stroy in that movie is a cliché.

That is one of the oldest stories in filmography. He lost dad in military, he grow up in a proble guy who make and search problems, than dads friend from military find him, talk to him, give him a chance and than he find a reason of life and save the world.

  • true but what original stories are out there, i mean what i like is that he's in between hero and anti-hero, hes not a clint eastwood sort of hero but he also isnt a normal kirk who is a total champion, cause to be honest, on his own, the universe wouldve been screwed, he needed some major help from both spocks and his crew, whereas normal kirk could like kill you with a double kick

  • but i also get what you mean :) im sure they were constricted by the idea of introducing everyone and that in the next film they'll for some truly original awesomeness and really knock us old time fans on our asses

  • Crew introducing... Good idea.

    In Kirks case... too much.

I don't think I can like this "Alternate Trek" stuff.

They screwed the Enterprise from up to bottom. That was the think I was looking forward and they screwed it.

    Did you see the engineroom?

Where did they take it from!

    RMS Lusitania?

    CSS Virginia?

  • The bridge... coridors...

    How it looks from outside...

Where is the elegance of the constitution class!?

    And stardate?

    In year 2387 was a stardate 2387.#

    WOW!!!

(by the TNG-VOY stuff was supposed for year 2387 stardate between 64000.0 - 64999.9)

JJ-Trek is Star Trek only by the name.

  • i disagree. i think star trek is recognizable through its themes and characters more than its structures. im assuming that different models were created to compensate for nero's appearence. like perhaps a weaponry arms race started when the star ship was destroyed becuase everyone in the galaxy was terrified nero's ship would come back. it makes sense on account of the fact that this was the enterprise's maiden voyage ( also the lack of scotty could mean a lack of sophistication

  • I am sorry, sometimes it is stronger than me. I just don't like what they did with all this stuff.

In any series when they came back to meet constitution class (TNG in Relics on holodeck, DS9 in Tribbleations by K-7 and in ENT) it just looked like how it was suposed to look like.

    In JJ-Trek does not.

  • I prefer to think of it as a reboot like "Batman Begins". It's still good but it is its own thing, separate from the rest.

  • You are right, it is a kind of reboot...

That is what I don't like about it. Nothing is like it should be, nothing make sence.

  • Stardate has nothing common with what it should be. In JJ-Trek it is just a year.

Ship outside does look like constitution class only with a huge piece of imagination, inside... not a chance.

They know all romulan dialects several years before they get to know they are relatives of vulkans.

Uhura ordered in the bar "Cardassian Sunrise" over half century before first contact with Cardassian race.

That is just a tip of the iceberg.

  • lol i guess thats where we differ. i never watched another star trek after the original series, so i guess its jus special to me in that way. plus ive always loved the relationships and deep intrinsic emotion of star trek best ( plus the acting and the writing), but i can see how saying everythings an alternate reality seems like a cop out. but i gotta say i like it cause i wouldve hated if they had tried to do a caricature. plus i love to see everyone before they become awesome

  • That is where I agree. I did not want some kind of caricature and it was a good idea to show crew before they became That Crew.

And I never was that fool to be upset that new Kirk does not looks like Shatner in 1950's :-D

But I expected Enterprise of Constitution class, not JJ-prise of not-a-chance-constitution class. The movie was a full of paradoxies and mistakes.

  • By his own words Nero came to the past, met and destroy USS Kelvin and then he was hiding, do nothing and just waiting for Spock. That is the only point of difference in history. A huge effect for Kirk (lose of dad) but just a small change in the universe.

  • In JJ-trek stardate has no meaning, it is just a date.

They know what they are supposed to not know for a years (who are romulans, cardassians at all).

The Enterprise should be a 15 years old ship when Kirk became her captain. And it was that Pike, who commanded it before him for 10 years.

  • That small, for the histroy of UFP or Universe itself literaly tiny event (in these times a loose of a a ship in the space was unpleasant but not uncommon thing) leaded to absolutely different design of a ship and interiers like 200 years in the future (200 from 2258)

The universe of JJ-trek has too many differences and paradoxes from Star Trek universe and yet the only true and supposed difference was a destruction of one ship 20 years before that.

  • If U didn't liked, you shouldn't watch it.

  • Powinieneś był napisać:

If you didn't like it, you shouldn't have watched it.

Dwa dość poważne błędy w tworzeniu czasów :-)

  • but yeah because of both of them being their it totaly changed the timeline abit some stuff stayed the same like Kirk cheating on the kobayashi maru test that was the same now kicks dad dieing and that was diffrent but you know that will happen if something changes the time line

  • well if you understood this story line it was like that on purpose because see after that black hole happend on romulas and nero and spcok got pulled into it and went back in time well because of that it affected the timeline and sorta made it a alternate time line or universe so thats why because things changed alot all because of 2 little things 1 nero being their looking for ambasidor spock not young spock (but he does see him later on in the movie both of the spocks)

  • @Niusereset ok that he doesn't look like Shatner in the 50s. Noone does. But why does he have to look like a cheesier version of Brad Pitt? That is not the design I can ever associate with Kirk...who was you know a full blooded man not some mass produced pinky cutie pie

  • yet do you not forget that true greatness comes from within, not from without.... (by worf.. .sort of...).

  • the problem is that behavior comes from within and Pine's behavior is just like his face: cliched beyond repair.

  • Before we can repair or judge, we have to know how it ultimately should work.

    Nobody can ever infer this?

All we can do is tinker and see. Its called evolution. The fate of those who don't attempt to evolve is clear; but the fate of those who do is not.

Is evolution is a cliched mindless approach stretching over millenia? Yet it can still produce neccessary diversity.

If star trek has merit - and people worthy - it can survive any assalt; otherwise it'll be replaced and never reappear.

  • Epic :D

  • who in gods good name made this?

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant copy of the new trailer, hehe. Nice work, lip-sync and everything.

  • Pure Brilliance!

  • FIRE EVERYTHING

  • that wass...

    A-MA-ZING!!!!!!

  • Nice Work

  • I saw it once and I can watch it again and again . . . .

Star Trek rules × JJ-trek sucks

  • I must agree!

  • This put a smile on my face. Thank you so much! Classic Trek will never be touched, it rules! Favorited!!

  • I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! love love I love ALL Star Trek and yours. Your video has made me very happy tonight, thanks and L.

  • This is great, haha "Sort of"... Keep up the good work!

  • new star trek is better than the old ones

  • PSH NO!

  • yeah well maybe not if you're used to old ones. i have wathced some old episodes (not the movies or something) and i just think that new one is kinda better. btw just write "worst" to youtube and in there's video about star trek at top 5 :D some guy is throwing plastic rocks to captain kirk and he have some plastic alligator alien suit. I guess that's the reason why i think that new star trek movie is better :D

  • yeah well it was the worst fight scene ever... other wise its the best show ever made..

  • if those old series were made with today's technology, u wouldn't have said that.

  • well maybe i wouldn't

  • yep :D

  • It's so cool that you managed to place most of the voices with the original characters. And I felt goosebumps. The very same ones when I watched the trailers and the movie! And the writers are suggesting that the next two will be directly connected to each other.

  • LOL at Kirk at 0:56

  • It was great, but it would've been better if you'd used the Remastered Star Trek intead.

  • And we have a new winner of today's "Missing the Point" award.

  • lololol

  • It, and the other vids, are excellent. One with clips from the Classic Trek movies might work.

  • I think you could have done better with the voiceover scenes...it you can't find a good one, just show the outside of the ship...like "fire everything!" and just show the warbird

  • Muy bien de verdad haz sabido usar partes de varios capiutlos y adecuarlos a la secuencia y audio del trailer de la pelicula lnueva....MUY BUENO

  • Would it have been cooler if they used TOS remastered?

  • And you win today's "Missing the Point" award.

  • This really makes you realize how much they changed. But how much they kept. When you compare the trailers atleast.

  • That last bit, 'sort of' was perfect!

  • ROTFL. I finally let it run long enough to reach the Star Trek title at the end - and the words "Sort of" below it. Looooool.

  • Lacking something: Lens Flare

  • and shaky cams....and product placements....

  • Hey do you know where I can download this Trailer at?

  • This is pretty good. Of course, that music *chills*

  • This music always seems to give me the chills. Especially with Nero's line "James T. Kirk was a great man... that was another life!"

  • omg yeah i kno what you mean.

  • so, so, so good.

  • What's the episode source for the clip at 1:19?

  • "Balance of Terror", the first episode where we see the Romulans.

  • I'm well aware of what "Balance of Terror" is about, but thank you for the help. I couldn't identify it from a two-second clip, so your help is appreciated!! :D

  • Awesome.

  • HA! I love it! Good job.

  • Kirk in Star Trek XI is such a tool

  • Haha, nice!

  • shatner's face when saying "yeah we do!" is priceless :-D

  • Yeah! I literally laughed out loud.
