As soon as her care keeper passes, the caregiver that gave koko love and attention. Soon as she dies and passes.Koko will feel the the same feelings that any other humans will. depression, loss and insecurity.. dont expect koko to live a happy normal life after that tragic state. If she did not show dominance toward the gorilla it wouldn't follow her orders as well and could be aggressive toward her. As for what's in it for Koko, she gets to live a safe life and gets to be cared for at all times. The alternative was a zoo which is where she was held prior.
