  • AWESOME VIDEO I work in this area and it's so sad to see this area like it is today. Now the turntables are gone i hope a railroad museum got them and they were not discarded

  • Great Rockabilly Engine Sound

  • Yes - whole area is flattened. Very sad. Piece of LA History gone.

  • Nowadays, the buildings are gone.

  • You can always tell a true AC6000CW by looking at the exhaust stack. A true AC6000CW has 2 stacks side by side. The true AC6000CWs on Union Pacific are the 7500s.

  • we have the up yard and it is going ghost town two. security gards know us so well they dont ask us what we are doing. they smile and wave. Now they are getting to the point like are they really rail fanning?

  • what was that unit trailing in the very beginning of the video. was that a u boat

  • Sorry - only a year late with a reply. According to the UP Roster it is a C36-7.

    GE C36-7 — 19 units

3600 horsepower; C-C trucks; 391,000 pounds operating weight

  • Nice video...its nice to see what it looked like back in the day! Poor empty Taylor Yard...

  • Nice video! Not often you see new technology utilizing antiquated equipment. Love the high HP units!! UP forever!!

  • yea, that place is empty and nothing to see. The turntable is still there but not even Metrolink use it.

I saw AC6000 pulling Sunset Limited at the alhambra sub into L.A.

  • Should have checked it first - I will make the correction - thanks!

    (GE C6044AC (AC6000CW) — 70 units

4400 horsepower; C-C trucks; 412,000 pounds operating weight)

  • The unit is an AC6000CW
