  • Sleeper my ass. I've got so much rumble in the back of my Goat, I see convertible tops folding in from the percussion at the lights. >8)

  • 1:35 HOLY SHIT look at that engine rev D:>

  • Did anybody else see the GTO shoot flames in the 0-60 clip?!

  • "Four speed auto trans is available, IF you must" lol

  • @soyntgo4it, in your dreams you beat a 2nd gen gto, a 07 monte carlo ss couldnt beat a 1st gen gto. you might be able to tell that lie to anyone who doesnt know anything about cars but not here, keep dreaming liar.

  • Soyntgo4it...there is no way your 07 Monte touched a GTO

  • a nissan maxima comes with a stock 12.6 so thats not very big brakes and its a family sedan. you always shake your head when manufac give you big power and torque and little teeny brakes :(

  • RIP Ponitac.. I have to say that my 2007 Monte Carlo SS had out a few of these GTOs to shame. Miss my SS..

  • side profile is a sunfire...

  • IMO, very underrated car. i always felt like the 04-06 GTO could have sold another couple thousand more, maybe even another 10K :P lol, but re-badging it as a GTO instead of another name could have hurt its sales bcuz we were expecting it to retain its muscular look and not a sporty one. but i still see the exterior styling very hot, despite it looking bland and simple

  • thats not a GTO

  • @sixDUMBbeaners sad to say. If you ask me I think it looks like a Pontiac G8 only more with a more fancy body style.

  • Those brakes still sound small but its a good performer if they had just called it a G8 coupe i think there would have been less complaints about the looks.

  • @ChallengerGuy22 the 05-06 brake rotors are actually 12.6 inches up front (reviewer was wrong) and are the same PBR calipers that are on the 05 LS2 vette. as well as the pads between the vette and GTO are identical.

  • @ChallengerGuy22 the 05-06 brake rotors are actually 12.6 inches up front (reviewer was wrong) and are the same PBR calipers that are on the 05 LS2 vette. as well as the pads between the vette and GTO are identical.

  • @ls2gtoguru Interesting thanks damn vett only had 12.6 lil mach1 had 13s up front : ( and its got nothing on a vett

  • @ChallengerGuy22 Mach1 has an older gen dual piston PBR caliper. the C6/05 GTO PBR caliper are newer design and bigger. larger rotors mostly help with fade not stopping distance.

  • @ls2gtoguru I'm sure the much bigger tires and lighter car help the vett stop but someone would be more likely to track event a vett so stopping fade would be pretty important : ( oh well I guess they thought so 2 cause they are huge on the new vetts and camaro these days and the mustangs have small rear brakes now in comparison. Ford should step it up a bit in the rears

  • The GTO was a LS2/T56 & IRS in a plain wrapper for $30k .When I drove it, I had to have it. It's a very solid, quiet car. No one notices it. Cops don't see it either. 500hp were just a cam & a set of heads away (and a few other bolt ons & tuning). I added a stronger clutch & it has given me 30k trouble free miles. It's also very comfortable inside, it loves long trips. I have 2 other newer & faster GM's, but my GTO gets the most use. It's a unique car & I like it a lot.

  • A song is playing in my head when I'm watch this: Here in my car I feel safest of all I can lock all my doors It's the only way to live In cars Here in my car I can only receive I can listen to you It keeps me stable for days In cars Here in my car Where the image breaks down Will you visit me please? If I open my door In cars Here in my car I know I've started to think About leaving tonight Although nothing seems right In cars
  • Motorweek states the 2005 Mustang GT does 0-60 in 5.0 Seconds with 100hp less and 75lbs of torque less. . is the GTO that much heavier?

  • @ralatorre9 The mustang GT doesnt get to 60 in 5.0 im a mustang guy first and foremost but i love all muscle cars. This GTO is like a knife in a gunfight in a quarter mile duel with the 2005 GT. The GTO is a bit heavier but the real difference is in how they are geared. the race from 60-100 would show how the GTO is built to keep that viscious acceleration past the legal speed limits...

  • @DaBluedude100 05 GT will get to 0-60 in 5 seconds..

  • see the flames come out when they did the quarter mile lol

  • I have one. So far the ONLY thing that has beaten me is an SRT10 Dodge Pickup.

  • holy shit for a second i thought at 1:34 the car went fliping lol

  • this car is NOT A FUCKING VAXHULL OR PONTIAC this car was made in australia and was imported to america and that other place were its called vaxhull were ever that is lol its real name is a holden monaro (; and if u want a real mucel car look up walkinsaw w427 holden commodore shits on any v8 in the books

  • @Ausiboy69 the manaro is branded as a vauxhall in europe. there great cars im looking to get into one...

  • I like how these cars were made six years ago, but they're still as fast or faster than the top cars coming out of Detroit these days!

  • Needs wider tires..... stock tires are too skinny....

  • its a vaxhull monaro and the monaro has a pontiac gto engine get your facts straight man

  • @mustangdocter get ur facts right the monaro is a holden

  • @mustangdocter no... its a australian holden manaro... The vaxhall manaro is imported to europe from ausie. They all use the LS line of engines (in basically corvette spec). Those are the facts.

  • The reason the GTO went out of production after such a short run was because Holden stopped making their Monaro at the end of 2005/ early 06 after being in production since 2001, America got it mid way through its lifecycle in 2004.

Despite its foibles it was developed in a very short period of 18 months on a shoestring of AUD$60 million, not a bad effort from a bunch of Aussie drongos from a southern backwater.

There was a replacement planned and a concept released but GM turned it down.

  • Its flexing at 1:32

  • about how much would i be putting out to get wider rear wheels and tires for more grip?

  • LOL the transition @ 1:33 looked like the car flipped from the corner of my eye. haha.

  • I had an 04. I MISS that car. Had to trade up for a truck :(

  • @z28kindaguy i went the opposite, I traded my truck in about 3 or more weeks ago for an 06 GTO and regret it a lot, I am mad to figure out that I am just a truck person to begin with and now im stuck with this damn thing, I want my truck back

  • @25sportbiker u looking to sell? where u at and how much you looking for?

  • @DaBluedude100 sorry, I traded in towards another truck, don't know how I was able to get out of it but I did, sorry to dissapoint, it was a sweet car but just not for me

  • I'd bye one on the spot..

  • best part of the video was the exhaust flame burst at 2:13

  • go holden monaro! it is extremely fast and handles like a dream! monaro rules!!!!

  • tv doesnt do justice for the gto if you see one in real life

theres just something about it that screams if i wanted to i could kill you so just be glad i dont want to

  • one of de best muscle car

  • I WOULD HAVE KEPT MY 06 SS MONTE CARLO IF IT WERE REAR WHEEL DRIVE LIKE THE GTO! WHY DID GM DO THAT BULL

  • not a fan of american cars nothing personal. props to this one i like it's subtle styling. one these bad boys smoked my friends 350z

  • I always wanted one of these

  • gm made some pretty damn nice cars that ran for only a couple of years.... GTO, SSR, solstice gxp, G8.....

  • im tired of muscle cars that are styled after the cars they used to be (like newer mustangs, camaros, chargers and challengers). for once there's a muscle car that looks nothing like the original.

  • No car is perfect. Sure, the GTO has subtle styling but for the money this car has one hell of a powerplant and a very comfortable interior. There are actually some easy mods you can do to make the car look and sound more ferocious. But I'll tell you what, when you pull up next to one of these at a stoplight, you'd better show some respect or else get embarrassed. It's a perfect sleeper.

  • @CCMedic09 Agreed dude!

  • @CCMedic09 pedders supension + brembo brakes + ecu tune = m3 killer

  • @CCMedic09 I agree, I'm looking at one myself. I drove one a couple of days ago and it was a surprise and a disapointment. surprise because it was so damn smooth and a great drive. the disapointment is that it was in an accident and had to much cosmetic work to be done for the price. but I still have high hopes it's a great alternative ( and cheaper ) then a 928 in terms of Rarity, price and running costs.

  • I own one and I swear by it.... Its an awesome car..... Build quality IMO is very strong...

  • Its funny because he said, American Muscle.

  • @matty007007 Cause it is... Body doesn't make it muscle, powerplant does... and that is why he called it american muscle. Basically Vauxhall and Holden is american muscle in foreign clothes. And let me tell you something probable guy from down under.I have this car I love it... but the construction of it is just down right crazy, very very unsafe, unstable, if you really want to somewhat safely race this car you need to replace lots of stuff. And yet engine is the same with no need of improving

  • American muscle...

    I laugh.

  • @JaSt321 the engine is american

  • @bigenginesismythang

Way to make a fool of me, it's a Corvette engine isn't it? Still, most of the car is Australian. Right? Right??

  • @JaSt321 yeah but the muscle (engine) is american and if anybody wants to go a little bit back on the comments your claim was that it wasnt american muscle and it made you laugh but people can laugh back at you cuz it is american muscle

  • @JaSt321 Which Holden is owned by... GM?

I'm happy even this a rebadged Holden, i hardly doubt they would put a Holden in NA.

And, that's why we got the Pontiac GTO.

  • @undeadkillers

Yeah GM owns Holden but Holden develops the cars. Where did you get the idea that I'm not happy it's a Holden, Holdens are awesome.

  • @JaSt321 Yeah, Holdens are awesome but what am trying to say it that we finally got a rebadged Holden or Muscle car and that it can actuallly handle very well with power. We were so close to have a Ute version aswell and Pontiac made it really look good.

  • @JaSt321 Yes and no, the chassis is tuned by the Australians but if you dig deeply enough it's a modified Opel Omega B chassis. The Monaro/GTO/VXR is a brainchild of a global market, essentially it's like every other car made in the world these days. The only difference is that unlike most cars built today it's awesome enough that everyone wants to lay claim to it's creation.

  • Remember being on a Pontiac lot when this car was first delivered, I told the salesman that "I'll give this car 5 years then it will be gone" do to the fact it had a $30,000 base price. He said to me "no way this car is here to stay." I wonder if he ever remembered that convorsation when 06 came around.

  • @jet79637

Considering the fact the car was on a 3 year run only set BY GM from the beginning I wonder how much of a dumbass you talked to.

  • @necrocannibal I learn something new everyday, so it started as a 3 year deal before they started selling them?

  • I own a 2006 Brazen Orange GTO. A pleasure to drive, and always puts a smile on my face :)

  • @Twinturbospool 06 QSM a4 had for three months I'm in the same situation ....can't get this damn smile off my face! AWSOME cars!

  • @Twinturbospool 06 QSM GTO a4 love every minute of it! Oh yeah, got the smile too!

  • "based on the holden monaro?" mate it IS a monaro with different front plastic and the steering wheel on the other side. Australia has been building some of the damn finest RWD muscle cars for 40 years and the world is finding out. Clarkson and Hammond both SHIT themselves when they took these for a drive. American inspired, Aussie built.

  • these LS2's arent much faster than the LS1 camaros

  • @ryanmtanner True because the GTO weighs more

  • @cwhcj yeah but still badass

  • @ryanmtanner oh yes no doubt,it was a real hard to decide between the two fbody twins and the GTO,but everytime I found a nice LS1 Fbody theY almost wanted $20k

  • @cwhcj I agree with you. I seen some 04-06 GTO's with like 60k miles on then for around 15 thousand or more but then I found my 02 Z28 for 8 thousand with only 63k miles on it so I got a darn good deal because they were asking 9500 at first

  • I dont think the 04-06 GTO's were an "epic fail" in styling at all... Would it of been sweeter if pontiac followed the-would-be-trend of Ford and go with a retro-modern styling cues?Absolutely,no doubt about it! But believe it or not, this cars value perhaps 30-40 yrs from now will sky rocket if its all original. #1 Because they stopped making them in 06' #2 Pontiac is gone..The best way to describe this car is "sleeper". Meaning you dont know what your up against, until you pull up next to it

  • @Musclecarfever13 30-40 years we'll be running on hydrogen or the like. Wonder if these will convert easily?

  • Looks like a Grand Am. Epic fail by Pontiac in the styling dept. I prefer the "muscle car" look of the the classic GTO. Looks like a housewife car.

  • @p4horror

I bet you still watching Black/white TV too. Right??

  • @seboxman I bought a 2010 Camaro 2SS last January & it has the styling to go along with it's 6.2 liter engine. I also admire the styling of the newer Corvettes, Mustangs & Challengers. A perfect, all-around performance car should look the part as well as have a monster under the hood. This GTO looks ridiculous. Again I reiterate: A GM epic failure. Maybe if they were more creative with the "new" GTOs styling instead of this monstrosity, Pontiac would've sold better & not killed itself.

  • @p4horror Drive a cookie cutter mustang , no thanks ! or a retro camaro transformer train wreck , nope. bet your wearing a white belt , bell bottom britches & a greg brady perm ! Enjoy your "SS penis extender" , hey look at me. Retro Edsel , now there's an idea.

  • @JatoAv8er they all talk shit about the goat all I have done is a cam and exhaust and I have already smoked the beloved 2010 ss cant wait to get back from Iraq in a month and play with the new stang. EATIN RICE AND SHITIN FORDS!!!!!!!!!

  • For anyone who has never driven this car, I strongly suggest it, you won't be disappointed....

  • @Musclecarfever13 i havent driven one, wouldnt mind it either it just seems like it may have lacked a few things, but i guess thats why the is the g8

  • I have an SLP Diablosport Predator(2) tune for this car and Trailbblazer SS and C6 05-07 and of course Chevy SSR. It was over $400 on slponline.kom's site. I have it up for auction on e bay starting at $0.99. Enter this item number in the search bar there. 270604826934

  • Listen, just because the car was inherited from Australia, does not mean it is an Australian car. Really getting fed up with idiots who call it an Australian car. It has a GM transmission, GM motor, GM suspension, GM workers built it, and it has GM family badges. If you did research on cars, which is obvious that you do not, you would be surprised how many "american cars" are inherited from other countries. Quit trying to sound intelligent, when you are clueless.

  • @ForgeCafeVideos well actually Holden is owned by GM so this car is 100% General Motors:) I LOVE GM

  • @ForgeCafeVideos LOL the Holden Commodore is well and truly australian and the Monaro is too. You are a clueless twat, the gearbox and engine are imported from america to a car that is designed built marketed and sold in australia.

Just because it has some american parts does not mean its american you fool.

    Learn some history.

  • @plusgood15 Anyway, I am not clueless, you are just ranting on about a car that you don't even own. I am aware that the Monaro is an Australian car, but the Pontiac GTO is not. I am not sure what your argument is, except that you seem to extremely offended by my comment. I think I am just going to go hop into my American made Pontiac GTO and go get something to eat. You silly guy.

  • @ForgeCafeVideos lol, well seeing as I work for GM and the fact that I actually leased one for 2 years so, i do know what i'm talking about.

The GTO was made in south Australia at our plant in Elizabeth.

All we did to import our cars was switch the dash, the handbrake and the front grille.

It is an australian car mate. Just let it go...you're wrong.

  • @plusgood15 some people are born idiots just don't respond to him let him bask in his idiocy

  • @ForgeCafeVideos There's an old saying that goes "better to keep your mouth closed and have people think you might be an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". I don't know how many people you need to tell you before it gets through, but the Holden Monaro, Vauxhall Monaro and Pontiac GTO are ALL Holden Monaros - ALL designed and built by GM Holden at their Elizabeth facility in South Australia. If you've got an "American Made" Pontiac GTO, then it's a pretty old car sunshine.

  • Comment removed

  • i hope people know that this car is really australian! not american

  • I've run a 12.8 @ 109 with stock motor

All you need is Wider rear wheels/tires and stiffer rear springs and shocks to get a better launch. Get a $300 short throw shifter...its Much better

  • @bowen292 With the LS2 motor right? What are the dimensions of your rear wheels?

  • the actual numbers are 4.7 0-60 and 13.0 qtr mile

  • Comment removed

  • a powerful runner in street clothes....... ehhh

  • its not based on a holden manaro IT IS A HOLDEN MANARO

  • @gooferman609 with an AMERICAN MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION and any way its gm so shut the F**k up!!!

  • @racingchamp101 wow roid rage much over in Australia it had the same engine and tranny, its purely made by Holden

  • @gooferman609 no no no no the engine and transmission is not from aussie its from america

  • @racingchamp101 did i say they invented it no i said they invented the engine/powertrain setup jesus learn to read and comprehend

  • @gooferman609 dude could you shut up your blowing my high

  • @racingchamp101 lol right there, no wonder you say stupid things cause your high, is that why your picture is of a wrecked car? is that what you do when you get high you wreck cars?

  • @gooferman609 no thats my nsx after i try'd to drift in it

  • 5.1? This guy sucks. I hit 5.1 in my 04 6spd

  • at 0:35-0:38 if you look hard enough, the front kind of looks like an impala.

  • @9388ninethree Go drive one youll change your oppinion real quick about the new GTO's.

  • compare it's looks to the 1993-1997 camaro

  • slow

  • fuck off prick

  • @1994CorvetteC4 eat a dick

  • so you just go around commentin on stock cars what a fuckin bitch your an import pussy

  • @1994CorvetteC4 slow bitch

  • @0spaceboy I see your still being a fukn smartass. Sad.

  • ya therer seems to be alotta import fags on these websites its very sad they can only keep up with us totally modded yet still not win and yet at the end of the day there still drivin a gay ass civic what a faggot

  • FUCK CIVIC AND HONJDA

  • Damn I cant wait til these things are priced like how late 80's cars are priced now.

  • "Traction Control" my ass.

  • these new gto's dont look like american muscle to me, looks like any other car...(imo)

  • The new GTO may have sold better if it was re-badged as the New 2004 Grand Prix GTP. I myself love the restyled 04-08 Grand Prix but I know a lot of die hard GTP fans like the 97-03 body-style better. If you park the 03 GTP coupe and the 04 GTO side by side there's a striking resemblance between the two cars, almost as though the GTO really should have been the next generation Grand Prix GTP.

  • it could have been...but what it WAS..is a rebadged australian Holden Monaro...an great aussie muscle car

  • ya your right but i think they wanted it to be a bull in sheeps cloathing cause thats kinda how the 64 was

  • @1994CorvetteC4 0spaceboy is a fukn prick with no life. He has nothing better to do but watch domestic vids and make smartass comments. He started with me awhile back, and it appears as if he is still making friends, lol.

  • lol well what do you got done to the mach so far?

  • @1994CorvetteC4 4.10 gears, Dyno tuned (307 rwhp/332 rwtq), ORX, Flowmaster Cat-back, KN filter, MGW Shifter, stock airbox, stock suspension. I posted a couple new track vids of it from yesterday, check them out. I managed a 12.9 run as well. The slip is posted on cardomain under "esthercamaro" if you want to have a look. I got a vid up of a C4 Vette against my S197 too that you may like, damn car was quick, lol.

  • damn nice ill check them out all i have is a high speed camera so no vids yet but the vette was my bros youtube just wont let me change my name but i gotta 96 ws6 pretty much full bolt-on car and my last slip was a 12.7 but thats the most im gonna get out of it i dont think i could get the conditions or luck i had haha but ya love the mach dude always have just glad i can actually talk to a ford guy without bein hated on lol

  • @1994CorvetteC4 Oh hell no, no hate here man! I've been on both sides of the fence, lol. I had a full bolt on 98 Z28 and an LS1 auto GTO. The Z28 ran 12.7 too, lol. The Goat managed a 12.8 with full exhaust, tune, and drag radials. The Z28 was stalled and had suspension, but was still on street tires, so you know how that goes. There are some pics and slips of both on that cardomain site I posted. Thats a stout run for your 96, love those cars. A good cam should put you under a 12.5.

  • damn man buy cars much haha and ya like i said that time is never happening again lol i just want a 12 flat when i get a cam but then id prolly need an auto swap and a big stall but any other cars after this one

  • The most underrated car and i love that about it. What you dont get from the tests is that the car is faster then the numbers they give you. It just takes some time to get the launch right. Love my GTO from day one and mine is about 5 years old now. What a great car.

  • You guys must admit this car is cool. BUT its definetaly NOT better than the great b300ZX

  • I love this car. I drive a 2004 nearly identical to this car. Its great such a sleeper no one can believe how fast it is. and DualofChaos I got mine with 51,000 miles a magnaflow exhaust, upgraded Brake Calipers, rotors and pads. And Motorweek my mother and Father both have riden in my back seat and so has my friend who is 6 foot 3 and all of them said that it is a huge back seat and is very comfortable

  • agreed my bro has a cyclone grey 6.0 and since his bitchy gf is with him half the time i to ride in the back but its not cramped at all

  • Comment removed

  • N/A is like a never ending turbo lag.

  • What? N/A is the best way to get no lag, what plannet are you from?

  • I miss my 06GTO R.I.P. :(

  • my dad got his 06 to 60 in 4.3

  • these cars are so cheap on the second hand market, its crazy. You can find a 50k 2006 GTO for like $18,000! WOW

  • I've heard and read in the past that naturally aspirated engines with high amounts of HP and torque aren't ness a good thing for the car in the long run because you'll have more problems with replacing parts etc... The GTO naturally aspirated is also taking in alot more heat than a supercharged and Air to water intercooled V8..

  • not true with forced induction you always find more issues just take the simple name forced=brakes..........

  • I love my 05 GTO. I always get thumbs up when people see me get on it. Nothing like shifting to 2nd in this car....large amounts of torque and then chirping 3rd.....lol

  • commentator is a Ahole mostly negative at first then sum positives id like to put his mouth to my prix's xhaust an hit tha gas maybe that will giv em sum respect

  • gottA LOVE AMERICAN LS2 CORVETTE ENGINES

  • fuck you mutherfucker

  • actually i fucked your mother up the ass last night she told me all about you

  • why is it so heavy..? ruined those tires man. definatley not a cheap toy to maintain.

  • the gt500 is stronger but has like the same suspention as the mustang gt, your gonna be sliding around in the gt500 way to much to turn impressive lap times, but it does kill in straight lines. Ask for the gto, its a niiice car but I wish they didnt just take the overseas model and put a GTO plate on it but ACTUALLY did something to make the GTO unique, I mean with the rep GTO's used to have I think they've earned the extra time/money...

  • my friend brendan has one of those but his car has 450hp he has a few videos to just type in gto sliding, they are good videos

  • The gto times by Motorweek are

    0-60 in 5.1 seconds

    and 1/4 mile in 13.5

  • Well it's not like the GT500 packs 540hp and the GTO have 400hp.

  • hey it's Australian Muscle motorweek !

  • I read that Pontiac is going down next year. Even though Pontiac has been producing some serious crap lately, Pontiac will never be forgotten in the American culture. The G8 is definitely worthy of being sold by Cheverlet.

  • PONTIAC ur legacy shall be forever rememberd by us proud pontiac drivers, the day GM decided to get rid of you is the day they earned my unforgivable hatred, i swear to the mighty pontiac god i shall drive my 06 grand prix gxp to the day i die.

  • the voice over is so.... american. the way he emphasizes his words- i could imagine a hairy-armed caucasian, chest out, smug talking about his thing.

brits (top gear) tend to be whiny bitchy biased buffons.

germans seem to be more mild mannered, and japanese seems to be more humble and logical... i guess it's all about getting used to..

  • haha whiny bitchy biased buffons! true.... but what are you a swiss clown?

  • A stock 6.0L LS2 GTO would def beat a stock GT500. The extra weight the GT500 has would be its downfall... Plus the GT500 makes that kind of HP because its supercharged where as the LS2 is 400HP without a supercharger or twin turbo.

  • The gt500 rapes the gto dude.

  • yea for sure

  • bullshit gto kick ass
